Looked dead, didn’t I? But I wasn’t. But it wasn’t from lack of trying, I can tell you that. Actually, Bill’s last bullet put me in a coma. A coma I was to lie in for 2000 years. When I woke up, I went on what the movie advertisements refer to as a ‘roaring rampage of revenge.’ I roared. And I rampaged. And I got bloody satisfaction. I’ve killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I have only one more. The last one. The one I’m driving to right now. The only one left. And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna kill Bill.
Isn’t it something like they’ll come and banish all heretics to hell, and therefore giving them eternal agony or something which would be worse than dying, so not really here to kill us all. The thing I’m wondering about Christianity is where the hell is the love of God in that.
I do this. Invite them in, offer tea, get out my Oxford annotated Bible (with Apocrypha – it’s got the Book of Love, among others) and Tao de Ching and go from there. If they don’t like my mix of spiritual and religious, they can go next door. My neighbors are Mormon!
Hmm ok I can see this “fail” as being just a bit offensive to a whole lot of people, though the explicit “Terminator” reference clears that right up, at least for me. The truck itself is a pretty big fail too. It’s a truck, not a movie poster for the Passion or something.
Apple’s and The Dairy Council’s ad campaigns are not public domain yet. The bible’s copyright however must have expired long ago. That’s how people were able to write fan-fiction like the new testament and the book of Mormon and not get sued.
Well I am sure that Apple, Inc. and the Dairy Council’s crack team of attorneys will get right on the “iPray” and “Got Jesus?” campaigns.
While they’re at it, the Dairy Council should prolly go after those really “creative / free-thinker / intelligent” types at cafepress.com (who sell “got atheism?” coffe mugs and t-shirts), gotatheism.com (there’s no “gotjesus.com” by the way, except where someone has purchased and parked the domain name), or zazzle.com for their “got judaism” t-shirts.
Fan fiction? That’s a bit offensive to the mormons, for by all means, the amazing story of Joseph Smith and him finding the gold tablets and the seerstone, or something like that, can’t remember, that no others could see because the angel Morona had told him not to let anyone else see them, him deciphering the ancient tablets with the (assumed I remember the item right) seerstone from an ancient and a forgotten language, can’t possibly be considered fiction. Anyone can see it has got to be a true story.
Actually from what I understand he’d come back with a rain of fire and an army of angels and four horsemen destroying the world and stuff, not with hugs and kisses. Though I find that a little ridiculous as the Bible seems to contradict itself, telling about God and Jesus’ endless love that reaches all, and then about the heretics perishing and writhing in agony for an eternity with the people who had faith being all happy happy joy joy in heaven, without fighting with each other and with doing no sin at all. First off, it is not love if you can condenm someone to an eternity of pain, because that is such a horrible fate that no one can actually want that for anyone. Then, that heaven-concept doesn’t work, at least if the people are still themselves. It’s impossible for everyone to be in good terms with one another, unless they’ve been brainwashed. And, besides, the heaven of the Bible is the heaven of old times. There is no way a modern person would be completely happy in there. And Jesus couldn’t be everyone’s best mate, unless he could multiply like a good unicellular organism.
i’ve been told that it isn’t Jesus who condemns you to hell, rather it’s you yourself that does. You’re given the chance to have everlasting life in heaven because Jesus died on the cross for you, you just have to accept it. If Jesus loved us so much that he wanted all of us to be with him… he would have made us robots. He gave us free will so we could try and find happiness ourselves, but he knows that without him we’ll be unhappy. if that makes sense
Damn those moderators, deleting my message. But anyway, as I wrote last time… It most definitely isn’t love if you can condemn someone to hell where there is only pain and agony. And if they’re omnipotent, they’d be able to save the people if they wanted, but they apparently wouldn’t. And if someone would be forced to decide on whether they’d banish someone they love to either hell or to take them to heaven where there’d be eternal joy and happiness, the decision they’d make is clear. And so, if God or Jesus would be able to condemn the people with no faith to hell, they wouldn’t actually love them more than it is possible to imagine (as I think the Bible would suggest.) And the concept of heaven doesn’t work. All people can’t be happy together, without fighting with each other at all, without any kind of hate towards anyone who’s there, unless they’re somehow brainwashed or aren’t actually who they were on Earth. And I do hope some Christian or someone who knows about it tells their opinion on these arguments I’ve made.
Oh, come on… Your comment is awaiting moderation. What is wrong with this one? I do hope they won’t delete this one since I’m not actually insulting anyone and it is clean enough to be read by all ages and such.
i see team jesus usa’s emblazoned vechicles all the time in my columbus neighborhood. an entire herd of ‘em i tells ya. i totes failed at the fail opportunity! disturbing!
A matter of faith, left for all people to judge by themselves. Or if you mean him as a historical person, I guess that may be possible to be proven, I’m not that well informed to make a guess on that. But whether he was the son of God or just a regular man, that’s up to the people. Until of course he either comes/religions are somehow proven to be false/some other religious apocalypse or event making it impossible for Jesus and God to exist happens/just a regular apocalypse with no Gods/Jesuses.
Thank you Humm, and if you don’t mind I’d like to take a crack at showing you some prophesies fulfilled in the Bible. You can tell by the number of fulfilled prophesies in the Bible that it’s not of man, but of God. There are over 2,000 detailed prophesies in the Bible, in fact 1/4 of the Bible is predictive in nature, and everyone of the prophesies, except for the ones that tell of the End Times, and Jesus’ return(shown also by the truck in this pic), which are predicted to happen in the future, have come true. OK, now…1. In Isaiah7:14 says the Son of God will be born on Earth of a virgin, and in Matthew 1:18-25, it is fulfilled. Now, Isaiah lived hundreds of years before Christ’ birth, keep that in mind. 2. In Isaiah 9:66, it says God’s Son would be incarnate of God, and Acts 1:8-11 is the fulfillment, and again, hundreds of years apart. 3. Jesus, in Micah 5:2 was prophesied to be born in Bethlemem, and in Matthew 2:1 it’s fulfilled. 4. Also, tying in with #3 Micah mentions Christ’ pre-existance, that He has always been, and will always be, or everlasting, John 8:56 fulfills that. 5. Deuteronomy 18:18 says Jesus would be a prophet, Matthew 21:11 fulfills it. 6.Isaiah 11:2 says Jesus would be an unusual manifestation of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 3:16-17 fulfills it. 7. Isaiah 35:6 tells of His ministry of miracles, this prophesy is fulfilled MANY of times, including Matthew 9:35, feeding thousands, calming the sea, Matthew 29:31, etc.8.Psalm16:10 says Jesus would rise from the dead, Acts 2:31 is one account of the fulfillment. And still, all of this, hundreds of years apart.9. Psalm 41:9 is reference to Jesus being betrayed by a friend(Judas Iscariot), John 13:21-26 tells specifically of the fulfillment.10. Zechariah 11:12 prophesises that Jesus would be sold out for 30 pieces of silver Matthew 26:15 fullfills it.11. Psalm 22:6-8 says Jesus would be mocked, Matthew 26:67 tells of the fulfillment. Psalm 22 describes Jesus’ death in detail, and this is hundreds of years BEFORE the Romans executed people by crucifiction! The Bible is an AMAZING book, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE for man to have known all of this hundreds of years apart. And hey, there are MANY more prophesies in the Bible that, and I may find more to show to you, I THINK, but I’m not 100% sure, you can check it out for yourself that Daniel 2:39-40 prophesised the fall of the major world powers, like Greece, and Rome. Again, how could this be mortal prophesies? It can’t. It has to be of God Himself.
I contend that the Bible is scientifically and historically accurate and that its prophecies about the future are accurate as well and are going to be fulfilled. Does anyone care to knock down one of these columns I have stated working one at a time?
Well, I’d like to know if you mean that the things happening are scientifically accurate, like Moses turning water into wine, or was it blood. And Jesus curing the sick and reviving the dead. And I’m no expert on the prophecies in the Bible, but usually prophecies are made a bit mystical, so there’s a higher chance for them to come true. And there’s no knowing on what’ll happen in there future, so there is no way we can decide here on whether the prophecies yet to come true will come true. Oh, and I’d like to hear some of the prophecies that have come true and are predicted in the Bible, not to say there wouldn’t be any of them sarcastically or anything, just would like to know them. Also encouraging other religious people like JesusFreak15 below to join the conversation.
This guy lives in Columbus, Ohio, he recently bought my tv from Craigslist, his truck was in my driveway and I was trying to be covert and get a pic of it, can’t believe someone else got one!
Yes, “more better” isn’t proper English but English is not my native language and I use it in bad way when I think more about WHAT to write than HOW to write
Yup, read your comment, and true, those are prophecies that came true, though at least the first of them you meantioned are true only if Jesus is considered the right son of God to come on Earth, since most of them described the Messiah of the Old Testament. And some of them can’t be considered 100% valid, since if Jesus would’ve been just a man that decided to live as the son of God, he probably had access to the Old Testaments’ texts and could’ve read what was suppposed to happen and do it accordingly to the texts, for example the ones foretelling of him being a prophet. And theoretically, I’m not saying it’d be probable, but theoretically, at least that “friend selling him for 30 pieces of silver” could have happened if Judas Iscariot was acting without his complete own thinking, but with some subconscious acting with him having heard those phrases, but not remembering them at that moment, but somehow thinking that this’d be the way to do it. Though, I must agree, it is quite exact prophecizing that the amount of silver that Jesus was sold for was correct. And the way of Jesus’ death, if indeed crucification wasn’t used at that time. Though, I was waiting for prophecies not of Jesus’ life, but of the history, because at least those prophecies could be considered thruth or false without depending on if you believe in something or not. But, about that Daniel 2:39-40, it might be so, but I wouldn’t be so sure about it. Since I do not know of the events that lead to him prophecizing this, or who Daniel was, I’m expecting it was at the time when Egypt could still be considered a superpower in that area. Note that there’s a high chance I’m wrong. But, then, the smaller kingdom or whatever it was that was prophecized, might be Greece, since according to my knowledge, though I’m definitely no expert at the history of this area, Greece wasn’t that powerful and didn’t really care about things happening outside itself. Then, Rome would be the kingdom of bronze. Though they probably already had iron at that time, so they could also be the kingdom of iron. Then I don’t know what could be the small kingdom prophecied, and I guess that during the might of Greece they had bronze, so in that case it could be the kingdom of bronze, but if Rome indeed was the kingdom of iron, that was prophecized to wreak havoc on Earth, but its fall wasn’t prophecized, so if I am to be a pettifogger, it should be still standing and wreaking that prophecized havoc. And I don’t actually think that the Romans were really that eager to destroy, since from what I’ve understood of them, they mostly conquered and ruled the areas. Though, of course, prophecies are often very vague, so they can’t be clearly solved.
So, you want some HISTORICAL evidence? Is that it? Because I can show that as well, just reply to this, and ask me. And, forgive me, but it’s late, and I’m apparently tired, and unable to understand some things, I’m sorry. But, if you have any objections that you want to use, please tell me straight forward. And I don’t know if this piece of info will help, but the Bible mentions a prophesy about the Jewish nation, that it will face many trials, and hardships, but it will NEVER fall, and look down through history, you have Egypt, Nazzi Germany, the Middle East, the little nation of Isreal, the size of..one of our smaller US states(I forget which) has outlasted attack, after attack, and as the Bible says is still existing today. Another fulfilled prophesy. Oh, and I just thought, if you want more evidence for the Bible, I have archeological, historical, and scientfic evidene, and some of those tie in with prophesies. Any by one of your above comments you say that Jesus being God could have known about the prophesies, does that mean that you’re not opposing Jesus as God, or a God in general? And about those prophesies, God gave the prophets in the old Testament the knowlede of the prophesies, about how Christ’ life would be, it’s not that Jesus later dfecided to fulfill it because it was written.
So, I’ll answer your questions reply to your arguments in the order you presented them. Yes, I would like some historical evidence, because I know there should be some. Yes, in the Bible there is stuff about the Jews being the people of God. But, from the Christian point of view, I fail to understand why so. Of course, God chose them and guided them and such, but they deny Jesus. Because of that, still looking from the Christian point of view, they are to be banished to hell. I know that that’s not a real answer to your argument on the Jewish people, but I think that’s a good thing to bring up. And the attacks towards Israel are usually caused by the Jewish themselves, because, though I’m not 100% certain, but I remember hearing from somewhere that they would’ve just gone there, started up a nation and driven the original people in that area away. And the attacks are just the people who lived there trying to get their homeland back. So I wouldn’t be using them as a great example of how God is taking care of his own, if you meant it like that. Probably not, but anyway. And yes, again, I would like to see some archeological, historical, and scientific evidence if you can post it here. No, I didn’t mean that as a God he could’ve known of the prophecies, but even as a man he could’ve read them from the Bible of their age, being the Old Testament. And no, I am either an atheist or an agnostic, so I don’t think that Jesus would be one with God nor do I think there would be a God. And, that is also a matter of faith. Though I admit it, and I didn’t mean it as a way it likely could’ve been, a probable way the things happened when I said that he would’ve just read them from there. And I do accept the possibility but I still wouldn’t go saying with 100% certainty that Jesus was an actual historical person able to be proven. But the fact of him being the son of God, or the miracles he made, or anything that connects him to the supernatural, are impossible to be proved. There is just the Bible as a source of information about this.
I see your point about the Jewish people, they rejected Christ, they’re the ones who sent Him to the cross, but they’re still God’s chosen people, they were long before they rejected Christ, but that doesn’t mean God doesn’t love them, He gives them as much of a chance as any other people. And OK, you don’t take the middle eastern people, but still, look at how in the past, they’ve dealt with the Romans, the Nazzi Germans, and several other countries, and have still survived. And OK, you say as a human Jesus could’ve read the prophesies,(not trying to sound like a smart alec) but how could He have read it as a baby? The Old Testament prophesies Him being born in Bethlehem, and that’s exactly where He was born, and what about the crucifixion? The prophesy was written hundreds of years before that method of execution was used. There are some that you might be able to calim that Jesus read, but there are some that can’t be explained with that theory. And OK, I can definately give you some historical, archeological, and scientific evidence for the Bible, but right now I don’t have much more time to talk right at the moment. But before I go, may I ask, what is your view on evolution, seeing that you claim to be an atheist, or agnostic?
Go ahead, and an answer you shall get. Well, I take it as a more logical explanation unlike God, which is based on trust about some omnipotent being that can’t be proven by any means. So yes, I do believe in evolution. And as I’ve discussed about this with a friend of mine multiple times, I know that it is a very unlike way for new species to be born, as it would require several beneficial mutations and that those mutations would be passed on to the following generations of species, and that the non-beneficial ones would wither. But the chance exists, and it would explain how for example dinosaurs and birds, very distant from each other when you just look at them, have a lot in common about their physical traits, like bone structure. I assume that as a Christian (I`ll make a wild guess that you are one when looking at your arguments) that wants to defend his belief, you have something to falsify evolution, since you brought it up, so go ahead.
Well, I have MAAAAANY arguments to evolution, and I have argued evolution several times, and I have heard many things, and have many things to back my arguments, and shoot down evolution’s argument. Well, look at the matter of CHANCE. Say you’re carring a box og oranges, and you trip, and fall, and bump your head, and you’re out for a minute, or 2, when you look up, the oranges are in PERFECT order, 10 rows of 5 in PERFECT order lined up, what are the chances that happened by random CHANCE? Would you logically say that it happened by chance, or an intelligent mind put them that way?
Depends on the height of the fall, the amount free space in the box, and the kind of surface I fall on. Ha-ha. Now, seriously. Of course, the chances are very low, since you probably mean a box in which they don’t easily stay in order. I would have to say that an intelligent mind put them like that, since that is the most logical explanation for this argument of yours. Now, may I counter it with a question: Do you believe in unicorns, and if you do or don’t, please explain why.
OK, the evidence you want to see, I have it, and I now have the time to show you. First I’ll show you the historical: to prove something historically you have to look at a few different aspects, one thing being the early manuscripts, and documents of the text, how close to the originals is the current copies. Today there are over 24,000 copies of the New Testament, the next closest is Homer’s Iliad with 643 copies, also among any ancient writings, that the manuscripts come so close to the originals, as the Bible. You wouldn’t dismiss the Iliad would you? So why would you dismiss the Bible, when it has a much better documentation to back it up? And also, the Bible, although some things SEEM to contradict(which, if you have any of which to show me, I can do my best to answer you), the Bible is contradiction free. And let’s look at the external historical evidence, Tacitus, a Roman historian, and Josephus, a Jewish historian both back up the accuracy of the Bible. Also, there were around 20 secular historians who attest to the crucifixion of Jesus, and in detail, as the Bible had previously prophesised. hundreds of years early, before this method of execution was used. And as I explained before, the Bible mentions details of history in detail, such as Daniel 2:39-40, and Isaiah 23, which describes the fall of major cities at that time, such as Tyre, and Sidon. Tyre’s demise is mentioned by historians, how King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon failed in a 13-year attempt to capture it, and Alexander the Great laid siege to it for 7 months, and completely destroyed the city, and it’s inhabitants. The Bible’s accuracy has been shown to be better than the one’s of Egypt, Assyria, and other major countries of that time.
Now, the archeological evidence: There have been over 25,000 archeological finds that provide support the Bible, people in it, their titles, and their locations mentioned in the Bible, and NONE have contradicted the Bible.
Now, for the scientific, which also ties in with prophesies in the Bible as well. OK, first, back during the time the Bible was written science claimed that the Earth was flat, the Bible in Isaiah 40:22 says it’s round, which science now confirms, so, a little science, a little prophesy. Science then said there were only a little over 1,000 stars, the Bible in Jeremiah 33:22 says the stars are innumerable, and again, science now confirms that. Science then thought the Earth sat on the back of a giant animal, a turle I think, floating in the ocean of the universe(crazy lol), the Bible in Job 26:7 says it floats in space, science now confirms the Bible. Then, science was ignorant of the tiny invisible particles that made up matter, atoms, the Bible in Hebrews 11:3 says creation is made of tiny invisible particles, and science now confirms that. Science then claimed that the stars were exactly the same, the Bible in 1 Corinthians 15:41 says they’re completely different. Science then said light was fixed in place, Job 38:19-20 says light moves, science now confirms the Bible. Science then said air was weightless, the Bible says inJob 28:25 says air has weight, science now confirms the Bible. Science then said wind blew straight, the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 1:6 that is blows in cyclones, and science now confirms the Bible. Science then said that sick people must be bled, the Bible says in Leviticus 17:11 that blood is the source of life, and science now confirms the Bible. Science then-ocean floor is flat, Bible in 2 Samuel 22:16, and Jonah 2:6-ocean floor has canyons, and mountains, science now confirms the Bible. Sciecne then said that the oceans were only fed by rivers, and rain, Bible in Job 38:16 says it’s fed by springs as well, science now confirms the Bible. Science then said hands had to be cleaned in still water, in Leviticus 15:13 that hands should be washed in running water, science now, once again, confirms the Bible. So, there is ALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of evidence supporting the accuracy of the Bible, and once again, how could a mortal man write these prophesies of Jesus, science, etc? It had to written of God through men, and you know, the Bible is the only religious text that claims to be of God, all others are written by man, the Koran by men long after Muhammhed’s death, the Book Of Morman is claimed to be given to man by an angel, one of God’s creations, NOT of God, over 3,000 times in the Bible it says :Thus sayeth of the LORD. The Bible is an amazing book written by the ony true God.
Right, so, again I will comment these in the order you presented them. I don’t really know the book, but I think that Iliad and Odyssey were adventure books, not to be taken seriously. They had the people’s god in them, yes, but they were not religious books to be used to study the religion. Then I’ll save the Bible contradicting itself to my last argument, as I think I’ve found a nice contradiction I really like myself, though I’ve presented it already on my earlier posts. I didn’t bother to look up some of those parts of the Bible about the historical details, because I expect them to be correct. I did express myself poorly, I’m sorry. I meant historical or archeological evidence that proves Jesus’ divinity or the existence of God. Sorry if you looked them up in vain since I wasn’t looking for this kind of stuff. Then, on to the scientific stuff of the Bible. First of all, I didn’t find Isaiah 40:22 to prove that the Earth would be a sphere. The start thing I accept, will come back to the ones I accept later on. I also accept the Earth floating in space. Then, the invisible particles, I don’t know how accurate it was in your Bible, but in mine it said, me translating it to English as good as I can “With faith we understand that the worlds have been created with the word of God, the visible has born of the invisible.” and to me, that just sounds like repeating the thing in Genesis, about God creating everything out of nothingness. I see no talk of little particles, so I wouldn’t consider that as a valid proof of them knowing about atoms. Yeah, the thing about stars was acceptable. About Job 38:19-20, I didn’t find them meaning that light moved. Again, me translating: “Do you know the way to the homeplace of light, do you know the place where darkness resides? Do you bring light upon earth, do you guide it back to it’s dwelling?” Could be considered like that, but not that the light moves as I understood you to mean. In these phrases it would appear that light would be like a normal object, similar for example a random cube that could be taken from one place to another, or to make it more simple since light is the subject, a candle rather than a cube. Job 28:25, my Bible once again says it a little differently, that the He gave wind power, but I guess it can be considered to be pretty much the same thing. Didn’t check Ecclesiastes, since it doesn’t appear to be a vital point, and I believe so is written in the Bible. About Leviticus 17:11, blood is considered to be the essence of life in MANY religions and cultures, for example the ones in Central America, such as the Aztec culture, and though it is indeed neccessary for life, I wouldn’t say it actually is the essence of life. And I don’t see any part in Leviticus 17 to command not to have sick people to bleed out the sickness. The ocean floor thing I accept also, but I wouldn’t be certain they thought that the ocean floor was completely flat, though I wouldn’t bet on my assumption. The spring-thing I also accept. Leviticus 15:13, that could just be some random spiritual thing required, like the sacrificial lambs in the Old Testament, which are nowadays considered unimportant spiritual things, and the fact of it being exactly running water could be a similar one, hopefully you understand regardless of my floppy explanation of the movements of my mind. Now, back to the things I accepted: Most of these could be either lucky guesses or over exaggeration of “the magnificent world created by our merciful God”. Of course, it would be stupid of me not to say that some of them are quite accurate, with a low chance for just a lucky guess. Now, on to the contradiction, the love of God. As you might’ve read from my comments above, I find it contradicting. If He actually loves us all, why would he banish people to hell? I find that weird. His love is said to be without boundaries, to be greater than anything, and yet he would have the heart to send millions of his beloved people to writhe in eternal agony? Even losing one person you love with all your heart would be devastating, let alone losing millions at the same time. I say that that is no love without boundaries, for if He really is omnipotent and has the biggest heart there is with a spot for everyone, He would definitely save everyone to heaven, and I mean everyone. And also, heaven is a concept that fails. People, as long as they’re themselves, can’t live peacefully, with eternal happiness, with no reason to worry or with no sinful intent for an eternity. That just doesn’t work with humans. If people would be able to do so, they would either be brainwashed or they wouldn’t be humans anymore. Also, I know that this is a very frequently asked question but I do not know whether someone has given a good answer for it, sounds corny, I know, but why does God let there be wars and such things?
Well Humm, it seems to me that you have a version that is either hard to understand, or could posibally be inacurate, some versions have been changed from the originals, and can lead to the wrong thing. The most accurate version of the Bible is the King James Version, or the New King James Version, the New King James just replaces the thee, thou, arts, etc, and replaces them with modern English. And I can always look up more evidence for you Humm, but the evidence you asked for is combined together, and proves God’s Word, which proves Christ’ deity. Once you’ve proven the book, what’s in it must be true, and this very book reads that Jesus died on the cross, as prophesied hundreds of years before, and rose from the grave, also as prophesied, and He, during His life raised others from the dead(Lazuras; John 11, and 12 verse 1), and the Bible tells of the hundreds of people who witnessed His assention(spelling?) in Heaven after He lived on Earth for a little while longer once He had risen. OK, now onto the verses you didn’t understand, here’s what the King James Version says, kinda going back into verse 21 of Isaiah 40, through 22, it says that Earth is a round, or circular shape, again, not flat as science claimed. And in Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the Earth was framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things to do appear, yes, it says made by the word of God, but it also says made of things which do not appear(atoms). Job 38:19-20 says Where is the place where light dwelleth?(it asks to prove a point, not as a literal question, retorical if you will), and as for darkness, where is the place thereof? That thou should take it to the bound thereof, darkness has bounds, but light moves, in my own translation. Now, jumping down to the blood issue, OK, most religions believe that, but may I ask, do their religious texts prophesy this, when science said otherwise? And no, it doesn’t command not to be bled, but it says the life of the flesh is blood, there is no life without blood, so bleeding people is not good, to say the least. And Leviticus 15:13, it COULD be a religious thing, but the Bible is saying this to show that running water cleans better than still water, which science THEN claimed, What do you clean you hands with? Do you use your sink while it’s running? Or do you let the sink fill up, and clean them when it’s off? I’m sorry, lucky guesses? How could some of the men who had written the Bible through God’s intervention know these things about science? Some of these men were not even close to scientists, and they randomlly(spelling?) GUESSED all of these things which came true? I’m sorry, but THAT’S what seems to have the REALLY low to none odds of happening. And about your question about God sending people to Hell, He does not, WE choose to, whether we know it or not, we commit the crimes of sin, and God is a holy God that can not let sin into His presence, being that He is holy, and a righteous God, and think of this, if you commit a crime, and ALL of the evidence convicts of the crime, and there’s not doubt you commited the crime, would a righteous judge let you go free, and drop all charges, or would there have to be a penalty, if the judge is righteous, there would be a penalty, and again, God is a righteous judge. NOW, His love is never ending, He sent Jesus to come to this Earth, be born in a manger, live, and die one of the most horrifying deaths anyone could die, my pastor has some research on the crucifixion, but let’s see if I can get somewhat to the point. The crucifixion: the victin is stripped of all clothing, taken into the streets, beaten, tied to a post, whipped with a whip called a “Cat Of Nine Tails”, which had shards of metal, bone fragments, glass, and several other things to cause horrifying damage to the victim’s back, alot of victim’s died from the beating alone. Then Jesus has a crown of thorns shoved on His head, being mocked by the Romans, since He is the King Of The Jews, the victim then has a cross weighing 1 to several hundreds of pounds placed oh His shoulders, and he is forced to carry it through the streets, up onto the steep hill of execution, then the victim is laid upon the cross, His arms stretched out as far as they can go, then a large, heavy nail is driven into the victims hand, just above the writs in the center of the bottom of the hand, then the victim’s feet is set into an akward position on top of each other, and a nail driven into them. Then the cross is lifted, and at the position of the body, ther vicitm must strain upwards through excruciating pain just to catch a small gasp of painful air, the victim repeats this for hours, through even more horrifying pain of the nails, in Jesus’ case, the thorns on His head, the pain of gasping for air, and having pain shoot through his whole body through catching a small breath, and then FINALLY, after all of this, the victim dies, most of the time of suffication. Jesus did this because He wants to SAVE you from Hell, and it’s torment, and give you eternity in paradise, where there’s no pain, no sadness, no sickness, NOTHING bad, TOTAL paradise, and if THIS ^ is not love without boundries Humm, I challenge you to find something that shows more love than all of this. Jesus loves the wolrd Humm, that includes, you, me, SeekerOfTruth, everybody on this blog, and throughout the whole…entire…world. God has a TREMENDOUS love for us Humm. And also, I will try to get you an answer for that last question you asked. I hope, and pray that you think about all of this with an open heart. Jesus loves you, an dcares for your soul, I do, SeekerOfTruth does, and I’m praying for you.
Great ending for your post, really, I don’t mean to be sarcastic or anything, and I’m wondering whether you even want me to reply to this. But, I’ll still do it, as I want to say something about the things you said. The first thing that comes to my mind from the description “round, circular shape” isn’t a spherical object, but just a circular, flat shape. Then, I’m no expert on the cultures that thought blood contain the soul or the essence of life and I’m not sure about this (shame on me, I have read a book about the Indian cultures of Central America) but I believe that the Aztecs did base that on a religious hypothesis, not a scientific, and even though they ordered that the sickness must be bled out, it might’ve been thought that sicknesses were some evil spirits (maybe) contaminating the blood. If you meant me to answer to the question about how I clean my hands, naturally it’s the running water. And then about that God again, if He is omnipotent, then he could somehow “purify” the sinful, and doesn’t the Bible teach everyone is sinful? Then, you say that if I commit a genocide for example, kill millions, and then, still have faith in God and Jesus, you say that it is a RIGHTEOUS judgement to grant me an eternal life in paradise? And what would you say if you went to heaven, and met Adolf Hitler in there? Would you just be happy to meet him, being like “Hey! I’ve always wanted to speak to you! Wanna go grab a cup of coffee?” Since theoretically that’s how it should be in heaven. And though you know it, note that the 6 million he killed in places like Auschwitz are the own people of God, the Jewish people. Then, God knew that Jesus would be back with him. Of course it’d be a very difficult choice for a father to let his son die like that, but knowing he’d be back and with him for an eternity after that, he could consider it to save millions. Then, a person can’t be satisfied with just love like that, fatherly and brotherly love by them. And also, doing something like that is of course very generous and everything, but I don’t consider that to be actually the greatest way to show affection. In my own opinion, though many people would probably disagree, the greatest way to show love is to hug someone really hard and kiss them and continuing at least the hugging for a few minutes. Again, in my own opinion, that is the best way to show love. Then, continuing with your post, I thank you for the prayers, though I’m afraid they’ll be in vain. You don’t have to post your answer if you don’t want to, but check my reply to your reply about me believing in evolution, the one after the one you talk about oranges in, and I guess you’ll get the reason why I don’t think it’s worth my time and energy to believe in any gods.
Well, I can see where you might make the assumption that it’s refering to a circular flat shape, but in every bit of research of this verse I find, it points to a circular SHAPE of the Earth, the Bible also says in another verse “circle of the Earth”. And I don’t see how the Aztec beliefs go with the fact that blood was said by the science of that day to be bled out, and well, you kinda help me make my point, other religions may believe that “bad blood” should be bled, but the BIBLE says otherwise, and the BIBLE is true. And about being able to kill millions, and still have salvation, it doesn’t work that way, when you get saved you wouldn’t want to do things like that anymore, and if you DO then you REALLY need to examine your “salvation” because if you commit a sin purposely over, and over, and over, then you really did not get saved. You just CLAIMED to. And no, Adolf Hitler will not be in Heaven, I don’t see how you think he would be, Hitler was a hater of God, and yes, of His people, the Jews. And yes, God knew He would be raised from the dead, but Jesus willingly went through ALL of that, just so He could save us all from Hell. And ah, you don’t believe in God, because you don’t see Him? Correct?
So, I won’t be bothered to comment the shape-thing again, but I still disagree with you on that. Then, I did put it quite poorly, once again, and I see how you misunderstood it. I meant that the people of that time, the Jewish too, probably thought that the sicknesses werre caused by the so called “bad blood”, and the Aztec thing was just to be an example of how other cultures, before the Bible, believed in blood containing the essence of life. And still, you have yet to post a part of the Bible where it forbids blood to be bled to cure sicknesses. The one you posted about this thing didn’t say so, you agreed on that yourself. And actually, in Christian belief it’s considered possible to receive salvation, at least if you sinned, in this case killed millions, and after that, maybe right before one’s death, he would start to believe. And though Hitler might’ve been a hater of God, no one knows about the last moments of his life. He might’ve somehow, weirdly, and though the chances are very low, started to believe in God. I’m not saying he’d be in heaven, but the low chance still exists. And, though of course this isn’t a major point and a bit of annoying clinging to details, he didn’t save us all from hell. And by the way, did the people before Jesus get doomed to hell, with no chances of salvation, since at least according to my religion teacher, Jesus “opened the gates of heaven to people by his death”. And well, that’s a bit frankly said, I would rather say I don’t believe in God since there is no scientific evidence of his existence.
OK, yes, maybe the Aztecs believed that, I’m no expert on the Aztecs, but the world powers, the majority of the world, and the science of that time said that the bad blood must be bled, and there’s no commandment to not bleed people, because the scripture I gave you, for one, shows that blood is life’s source, so that rigth there tells not to bleed, because it makes things worse, not better. And about Hitler, yeah, no one knows, he may have heard about Christ, and asked Him to forgive him, but from what I’ve heard about Hitler, he commited suicide, and that doesn’t show me that he recieved Christ, so I find it hard to believe, and yes, He died to save us from Hell, but we have to make the choice to believe in Him, and repent of our sins to recieve salvation. And I’m glad you asked about the Old Covenant(before Christ died) before He died everyone when they died went to one of 2 places in the center of the Earth, one was a place of rest, and sort of paradise, but unlike Heaven, and one was Hell. And the people who gave sacrifices for their sins would go to the resting place “Abraham’s Bosom”, and for those who rebelled against, and hated God, and sinned continuously would go to Hell. And you say once again that there isn’t any evidence for God, well, once again, I say, the Bible, but yes, you have to have faith in God to believe, and the Bible says that faith is the evidence for things unseen, God.
Interesting, I had never heard of that Old Covenant thing. Well, that quite nicely covers what I sought for. But, I don’t know if you consider this as an important point, but if that was said in the Bible, there is one thing in it that is impossible: those places can’t exist, at least in the center of the Earth. As you probably know, the temperature increases the deeper you go, and there would be no air to breathe, but of course no one knows if people would even require air since they’re dead and somehow reborn there. Anyway, the place would be too hot, and there are no empty pockets in the Earth, at least ones that can be considered as paradises, just molten rock and metal.
Well, when you’re dead, you’re soul doesn’t require air to breathe like on Earth, when you’ra alive, and well, I guess taking it to a certain view, you’d be correct about there just being rock, and metal, that’s all it is now, but in the Old Covenant God had created to gulfs, seperated by a fiery canyon in the center of the Earth.
Can’t reply to your message, damn, but I’ll reply to my own and hope you notice it. You say that God had created the gulfs, so do you mean that they’re supposed to be there now?
Actually, Hitler killed eleven million people and six million of them were Jews.
Ah yes, evolution. I offer you to bring something that is evidence for evolution, and why it is evidence for evolution. Bring your single best piece of evidence to the table.
Right. I don’t think this is actually THE best evidence for evolution I can find, but I’ll try to go with this for now. Some time ago, maybe a few months to be a bit more exact, there was a snake that had a leg with claws found in China. That snake used the leg to climb a wall in some people’s house. That wasn’t a new species, but a mutation of a snake. So, I’m asking you, how could the snake mutate a leg, that worked, though snakes of this time have NEVER had legs? My solution to that would be that it was somewhere deep in it’s genetic memory, a forgotten characteristic of the species, which eventually disappeared due to mutations in their genes. But it somehow got through with this individual snake. Now, I’m not saying that this story about the snake is completely true, I read it from a tabloid magazine some time ago, but I don’t see why they would post it if it was a complete hoax. But of course, if you have an article proving that the snake was a fake, go ahead and post it.
Oh, just by the way, I don’t want to be rude and want to keep this conversation the way it’s been so far, without personal accusations towards each other, so merry Christmas.
Wow Humm, that was among the most interesting things I have ever seen. It would appear that old inactive DNA for legs had been activated. However, this is still evidence of Biblical accuracy. This article from Answers in Genesis explains it well, but I will try to do so in my own words. http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2009/09/19/news-to-note-09192009 Now then, some creationists believe that snakes once had legs, and that when God cursed the snake to crawl on its belly, part of that curse was that the gene(s) for snakes having legs would be passed on, but inactive. However, a mutation could activate the DNA(as seen with the snake from China), and a snake could grow however many legs it used to have. So now what would your present? If you are wondering, my goal here is to show you that evolution has no evidence by taking one piece of evidence at a time.
I hope you had a great Christmas and that you have a happy New Year.
Right, indeed, I forgot that part about snakes in the Bible. Should’ve remembered it. Then, I will post 2 other ones that seem quite nice, at least to me. Lazy as I am, I will copy them straight from Wikipedia, from a larger article “Evidence of common descent”. First, the polar bear.
A specific example of large-scale evolution is the polar bear (Ursus maritimus), which though clearly related to the brown bear (Ursus arctos) by virtue of the fact that though separate species they can still interbreed and produce fertile offspring it has also obviously acquired significant physiological differences from the brown bear. These differences allow the polar bear to comfortably survive in conditions that the brown could not including the ability to swim sixty miles or more at a time in freezing waters, and to blend in and to stay warm in the arctic environment. Specifically these changes include its white color that serves as camouflage which is an aid in the hunting of seals; specialised hollow guard hairs which are an aid to buoyancy; a four-inch-thick subcutaneous layer of fat which provides extra insulation; more elongated necks than other bears which makes it easier to keep their heads above water while swimming; oversized webbed feet which act as paddles; small papillae and vacuole-like suction cups on the soles to make them less likely to slip on the ice; feet covered with heavy matting to protect the bottoms from intense cold and provide traction; ears which are smaller than those of other bears, to reduce the loss of heat; eyelids that act like sunglasses; sharper teeth than other bears to accommodate their all-meat diet; a large stomach capacity to enable opportunistic feeding; and the ability to fast for up to nine months while recycling their urea.
Indeed, a great example showing that they’re very closely related is the fact of them being able to reproduce with brown bears and those offspring of theirs can still reproduce. I don’t know how you’ll at least try to strike that one down, but we’ll see. Now, the other one, the hawthorn fly.
One example of evolution at work is the case of the hawthorn fly, Rhagoletis pomonella, also known as the apple maggot fly, which appears to be undergoing sympatric speciation. Different populations of hawthorn fly feed on different fruits. A distinct population emerged in North America in the 19th century some time after apples, a non-native species, were introduced. This apple-feeding population normally feeds only on apples and not on the historically preferred fruit of hawthorns. The current hawthorn feeding population does not normally feed on apples. Some evidence, such as the fact that six out of thirteen allozyme loci are different, that hawthorn flies mature later in the season and take longer to mature than apple flies; and that there is little evidence of interbreeding (researchers have documented a 4-6% hybridization rate) suggests that this is occurring. The emergence of the new hawthorn fly is an example of evolution in progress.
So, at least if I didn’t misunderstand this, this species of flys originally ate the fruits of hawthorn, but know, a part of the species began eating only apples, which they hadn’t eaten before. And also those other examples in that text showing that the population is beginning to become more distant from the original species are quite convincing to me.
Well Humm, its not letting me respond to your post, so ill just respond to mine and maybe it will do what needs to be done.
I must admit, I learned some things about the polar bear that I did not know, so thank you. I think this makes a very good case for all bears having a common ancestor that was a bear. It also makes a very good case for micro-evolution, a lousy term, all micro-evolution is really nothing more than adaption. When I say evolution, I am asking for evidence of Macro-evolution.
The hawthorn fly I also found to be very interesting, very well being evidence for that animals have a built in ability to adapt to their environment. That seems like something God would have done, knowing that animals’ environments would be changing. Thank you for this, I had never heard of this interesting animal before.
So, I can look up something else too, but first I want to ask you a few things. Isn’t saying that all bears had a common ancestor giving a boost to the evolution-point of view, since I think that evolution would say that all species evolved from common ancestors? I bet you’re going to throw me the Noah-bomb after this, but at least I guessed it. Then, isn’t evolution just that? Adapting to different circumstances when there isn’t enough food for all the species in the area/when the species moves to a different area? Of course, it takes time, and the close genetic relationship between the polar bear and the brown bear just indicates that they haven’t been apart for long. Then, since they have differed so far apart, they are considered as different species. Because of that, it actually is macro-evolution, not micro-evolution, because in evolutionary biology, macro-evolution means an evolutionary change in the level of species or in higher level. And about your comments on the hawthorn fly, wouldn’t that be the Christian view on all evolution if you come across any evidence you can’t strike down? It’s just easy to say something like “God must have done it” and other things like that. No one can prove them. But, am I not horribly wrong if I said that you’re saying that species are able to adapt and therefore evolve for better survival?
My Christmas was quite well, thank you. How about yours?
I’ll let you guys talk for right now. Sorry Humm, that I haven’t been on in a few days, I was very busy around Christmas, and I’m very glad you had a good Christmas. Although, if you want to pick up on our conversation, please tell me so, and please give me your reply.
Sure JesusFreak15, I’m up for more conversation. It’s your turn to say your points about what I said earlier, so go on ahead if you also want to continue.
Jesus loves big, fuel guzzling US SUV vehicles??! True christianity is about modesty and love (no sexual love), so SUV and jesus is another joke after chimaera of democracy as explanated in USA.
Okay Humm, its getting kinda long so im starting another section down here. I’m just going to quote you and then respond to what I quote.
“Isn’t saying that all bears had a common ancestor giving a boost to the evolution-point of view, since I think that evolution would say that all species evolved from common ancestors?”
That is two different things. Saying all bears had a common ancestor that was a bear is different than saying that all animals, plants, etc. had a single common ancestor.
“Then, isn’t evolution just that? Adapting to different circumstances when there isn’t enough food for all the species in the area/when the species moves to a different area?”
Which kind of the six kinds of evolution are we talking here? There is cosmic evolution, chemical evolution, stellar evolution, organic evolution, macro-evolution, and micro-evolution. What you described seems to closest resemble micro-evolution.
“Of course, it takes time”
Hold on a minuet. The story of the frog and the prince(or whatever the name is) was obviously a fairy tail. Now lets replace the frog with a monkey. Lets also say that he starts to change and that he doesn’t change in his lifetime put passes on the changing to his children and them to their children ect. Now at the end of lets say, 2 million years, you would have more than one human, and you would need a new princess, but putting all this aside this would essential be the same as evolution, and notice the main ingredient I added: a long period of time. This is the “god” of evolution, without it the evolutionary theory simply looks silly. If you want to change your tactics, try giving solid evidence for the earth being whatever age you think it is.
“Then, since they have differed so far apart, they are considered as different species. Because of that, it actually is macro-evolution, not micro-evolution, because in evolutionary biology, macro-evolution means an evolutionary change in the level of species or in higher level.”
Macro-evolution would have it change to something else entirely, like when dinosaurs were suppose to have changed into birds. Micro-evolution wold have it change into another type of bear, you may get a big bear or a small bear, a long hair bear or a short haired bear, or a fast bear or a slow bear, but your going to get a bear.
“wouldn’t that be the Christian view on all evolution if you come across any evidence you can’t strike down? It’s just easy to say something like “God must have done it” and other things like that.”
Your touching on something that is used very often against Christians, and somewhat wrongfully, somewhat rightfully: God of the gaps. Christians should not be satisfied with just “God did it”, but if God did it then we should want to investigate more to see how he did it. However I was not invoking God of the gaps, I was saying that it seemed like giving animals the built in ability to adapt to their environment seems like something that the God of the Bible would have done, knowing that they would have to change environments several times.
“am I not horribly wrong if I said that you’re saying that species are able to adapt and therefore evolve for better survival?”
Yes. I agree that animals can adapt, but I am not saying that they can evolve. Adaptation 1: is not evolution and 2: does not lead to evolution. There are limits to the adaption ability of animals, and an example would be with pigs. Farmers have been trying to get bigger pigs for a long time, do you think they will ever get one as big as a train car? I don’t think so, there is a limit, and it seems like they are getting pretty close.
“My Christmas was quite well, thank you. How about yours?”
Right. True, it’s a different thing to say all bears evolved from common ancestors than it is to say that all animals evolved from the same species. Yes, what I said describes microevolution if it takes a few generations for the changes to occur, but if the species is taken to a different environment for longer it also describes macroevolution. Then, evidence about the age of the Earth, I’ll copy this from Wikipedia so I won’t change the contents.
“Modern geologists and geophysicists accept that the age of the Earth is around 4.54 billion years (4.54 × 109 years ± 1%). This age has been determined by radiometric age dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples. The Sun, by comparison, is about 4.57 billion years old, about 30 million years older.
Following the scientific revolution and the development of radiometric age dating, measurements of lead in uranium-rich minerals showed that some were in excess of a billion years old. The oldest such minerals analysed to date – small crystals of zircon from the Jack Hills of Western Australia – are at least 4.404 billion years old. Comparing the mass and luminosity of the Sun to the multitudes of other stars, it appears that the solar system cannot be much older than those rocks. Ca-Al-rich inclusions (inclusions rich in calcium and aluminium) – the oldest known solid constituents within meteorites that are formed within the solar system – are 4.567 billion years old, giving an age for the solar system and an upper limit for the age of Earth. It is hypothesised that the accretion of Earth began soon after the formation of the Ca-Al-rich inclusions and the meteorites. Because the exact accretion time of Earth is not yet known, and the predictions from different accretion models range from a few millions up to about 100 million years, the exact age of Earth is difficult to determine. It is also difficult to determine the exact age of the oldest rocks on Earth, exposed at the surface, as they are aggregates of minerals of possibly different ages. The Acasta Gneiss of Northern Canada may be the oldest known exposed crustal rock.”
As said in there, it is difficult to determine the age of the Earth and it is not certain if that is the correct age, if it’s good enough for scientists that are the experts on this matter with the given test results of the radiometric age dating, it’s good enough for me. You probably disagree though.
Then, about microevolution again, I’m once again copy-pasting from Wikipedia, where this was put quite nicely.
“The term ‘microevolution’ has recently become popular among those who hold to the Intelligent Design theory, and in particular among young Earth creationists. The claim that microevolution is qualitatively different from macroevolution is fallacious, as the main difference between the two processes is that one occurs within a few generations, whilst the other takes place over thousands of years (i.e. a quantitative difference). Essentially they describe the same process.
The attempt to differentiate between microevolution and macroevolution is considered to have no scientific basis by any mainstream scientific organization, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Contrary to belief among the anti-evolution movement proponents, evolution of life forms beyond the species level (“macroevolution”, i.e. speciation in a specific case) has indeed been observed and documented by scientists on many occasions.”
Then, about that “God must’ve done it”, it’s just your assumption with no possible evidence, so it can’t be considered a valid point.
Then, you yourself have made points that would give some hints about adaption being microevolution, and now you say it is not. And as said, adaption that takes a few generations is microevolution, which is a form of evolution. And microevolution leads to macroevolution with time. About the pigs, yeah, they probably won’t get a pig as big as a tran car unless they modify the pigs’ genes, since I guess that the ones that would give the size of a train car are very deep in a pig’s genes, since for thousands and thousands of years pigs have been around what sized they are now.
Glad to your your Christmas was good. Likewise on the new year-thing.
OK, I’ve written a reply to you on our conversation, I think it went trhough, but I’ve written a reply to y’all’s conversation twice, and it hasn’t went through TWICE, what’s up with that?
No idea. Hasn’t let some of my earlier messages through either. But, I can’t find it, could you say here whether it actually passed or try to describe where exactly it is?
Well, I don’t know, it said that the giraffe defies evolution’s mutations, because it’s heart, to adapt to the long neck mutation would be too powerful to live, because it’d cause brain hemorrhaging, so it had to somehow know to evolve an incredibally complex organic shunt in it’s brain to shut off some of the blood pumped by the large heart to it’s brain, and then THAT also arises a problem for evolution, if it picks it’s head up too fast, say to run from a lion, it would pass out from lack of blood flow to the brain, so it has to somehow evolve an incredibally complex organic structure AGAIN, except in a matter of seconds this time, instead of days before it’d die of thrist, brain hemorrhaging, or food for a predator. I hope this one goes through, this is a short version of it.
Well, in evolution, isn’t it all about how the mutations that are beneficial for the species survive, and the ones that don’t do not? And, it doesn’t happen in one generation, the giraffe’s neck grew slowly instead of one group of giraffes dying to extinction because when they were born their huge heart hemorrhaged the crap out of their brain. As the neck gained length slowly, the heart must’ve grown too, and that complex hunk that reduced the blood flow must’ve also developed at the same time. And I bet many giraffes died as you described, but nature finds its ways. And as an animal that has lived in those areas for as long as it has existed, mutations that wouldn’t be good for it won’t make it, therefore only the best ones survive, and so if that long neck wouldn’t be worth a few giraffes dying from brain hemorrhage, it would be a lot shorter now. And, well, even though some group of giraffes would’ve gotten too long of a neck too quickly and become lion food, it wouldn’t have killed the whole species. Evolution is trial and error.
1. In the first statement are you talking about evolution or natural selection?
2. What beneficial mutations? I would like to know of one please.
3. Do you have any evidence to support your explanation of the giraffe not being killed every time it got a drink of water or got up from one? If you do not, then you have a wonderful hypothesis, but without evidence, you cannot pay the burden of proof.
1. I’m talking about natural selection I guess, which is a major part of evolution.
2. Here’s one good example of how beneficial mutations change the species, bacteria. As a more specific species, I’ll take the MRSA. As people started to use antibiotics more commonly to treat illnesses, bacteria started to become resistant to those antibiotics, resulting in the birth of such bacteria as the MRSA, which is pretty much invulnerable to the existing drugs.
3. Well, I’d say a good piece of evidence is the fact that there are still giraffes, as they didn’t all die. I know you won’t be satisfied with just that, though. If you really meant this as a question to JesusFreak15 as he stated in the post below, sorry to jump into your conversation.
Well humm, I am glad you said the first statement. I would like to inform you something about natural selection. Creationists believe it exists as well. We believe it to be a selective process, not a creative process. Now here is an objection I often get to this so I will go ahead and mention it and answer it to save you the time if you were going to mention it, and if not then you have been informed. The objection is that if it selects the better thing, then it would select good mutations, letting the bad ones die out, and because the good mutations is how life evolves, natural selection causes evolution. The problem here is that it is based on a faulty assumption, that there are good mutations. There aren’t any. The example you gave is only telling half the truth. The bacteria looses something that the antibiotics use to find it. Loosing that however, greatly weakens the bacteria. Its like someone is coming threw town, putting everyone in handcuffs, and taking them off and killing them. However, you cut off your arms so they can’t cuff you and take you away. Are you stronger? No, you are weaker than the average human. Also, this is the opposite of evolution. Evolution is suppose to increase in DNA complexity, not loose DNA. I just looked it up and it looses part of its DNA, so rather than rewrite this, I’m just putting that here.
I was speaking of evidence that this happened. You went from science to religion in the same post, by idealizing that this is how they evolved.
You say you believe in natural selection. And you say that there are no beneficial mutations. Does that mean that all species right now are as high as they can, or actually were before? Since you say state that there are no beneficial mutations, it means that the beneficial traits that are already in the species are passed down to the following generations. If, for some reason, some of those wouldn’t pass, do you mean that species will, over time, become lesser beings compared to their ancestors? And by saying that there are no beneficial mutations, if for example speaking of humans, if one’s whole family has been a bit stupid, meaning that they are slow to learn new things and stuff like that, do you mean that their children will also be doomed to be more stupid than the other children by their genes?
And, as I’m a lazy person, I’d like to read that text myself about by getting stronger in something you get weaker in something. And, I don’t see how the bacteria got weaker when they got nearly invulnerable to the current antibiotics. Do enlighten me by showing me how exactly they were weakened.

OK, I’m just going to ignore the above posts….um… I’m guessing the first 2 questions are for seekeroftruth, and obviously the third is for me. And well, while I believe that you would be able to research this info for yourself, I will try to find a link…OK, I’ve found one, I don’t know if you will take this one seriously because it’s a creation science site, but a science site nonetheless, but if you don’t, I will do my best to find another, here’s the link: http://www.creationism.org/articles/giraffes.htm
ok this is referring to the return of Christ which is the second coming. Jesus left earth and will be back again. its called the rapture in Christian terminology in revelations the last chapter. so actually its a win

Dude, this is a WIN. It’s a pun – one referring to a classic movie, and is rather appropriate considering Christian doctrine.

~Jesus
Well… I’m convinced Jesus wouldn’t say that as He always says the truth.
I’ll be home for Christmas.
it’s printed in the bible first – lightyears before arnie said it!
In another galaxy, was it?
Arnie would fcuk his sh1t up
Fail, lightyears are just as long in time as normal years, they’re used to measure distance.
So Jesus is here to kill us all? or is this the second movie?
i’d see that movie
Isn’t it something like they’ll come and banish all heretics to hell, and therefore giving them eternal agony or something which would be worse than dying, so not really here to kill us all. The thing I’m wondering about Christianity is where the hell is the love of God in that.
John Connor is Jesus’s online name?

Hmm ok I can see this “fail” as being just a bit offensive to a whole lot of people, though the explicit “Terminator” reference clears that right up, at least for me. The truck itself is a pretty big fail too. It’s a truck, not a movie poster for the Passion or something.
Ehm.. where’s the fail? There is nothing unintentional about this one, they are well aware of the terminator reference.
Um…not really a fail.
GET OUT…… GET TO THE CHAPEL….NOW
This is a win!
They use the terminator reference intentionally, because Jesus is coming back… and this time it’s personal.
For all you OT lovers, upon Jesus’ return, He will be cranking up the judgement jams to 11. (yeah, I said judgement jams)
Leviticus ain’t got nothin on Revelations son!
*Revelation
I think that is actually a win….
Christians love ripping off other people’s work. How many “iPray”,”Got Jesus?”, and “Calvin Praying” decals have you seen lately?
rrrriiiiiigggghhhhtttt…
Cuz there are no ad’s or companies that use religious icons and/or plays on bible verses or scripture to shill their products.
Double standard much?
Again I say… double standard much?
Fan fiction? That’s a bit offensive to the mormons, for by all means, the amazing story of Joseph Smith and him finding the gold tablets and the seerstone, or something like that, can’t remember, that no others could see because the angel Morona had told him not to let anyone else see them, him deciphering the ancient tablets with the (assumed I remember the item right) seerstone from an ancient and a forgotten language, can’t possibly be considered fiction. Anyone can see it has got to be a true story.
that’s a fail?
i thought it was creative
How is this a fail? Jesus is coming back. Not really funny… I’d say “sense of humor fail”
Suuuuuuure he is
LOL
I think the real fail is people like you who believe the fairy tale story that jebus will be back with hugs and kisses….and maybe a pepperoni pizza.
He gave us free will so we could try and find happiness ourselves, but he knows that without him we’ll be unhappy. if that makes sense
not at all.
but what else can you expect from the biggest science fiction novel of all time?
I do hope they won’t delete this one since I’m not actually insulting anyone and it is clean enough to be read by all ages and such.
i see team jesus usa’s emblazoned vechicles all the time in my columbus neighborhood. an entire herd of ‘em i tells ya. i totes failed at the fail opportunity! disturbing!
Well, not funny, just true. Jesus is MORE better than Terminator ’cause He’s true.
and some of the comments here are just… in bad taste. Very bad taste.
nah, Terminators are MORE better (is that even proper english??) than jebus.
And that’s a FACT.
Definitely a WIN!
The Terminator says that, not Jesus!
That sneaky Jesus, stealing Terminator’s line!
Crucify that bastard! CRUCIFY!
The Mayans had it wrong! It’s happening 3 years early!
The minorities are taking over!
I agree with seekeroftruth, and I have some things I can share to back it up.
I don’t see how this is a fail. :/
I totally agree, this is such a win for Jesus, such a fail for the Terminator.
If the Terminator is coming back to kill, to do what he loves, how is it a fail for him?
Is this a movie
This guy lives in Columbus, Ohio, he recently bought my tv from Craigslist, his truck was in my driveway and I was trying to be covert and get a pic of it, can’t believe someone else got one!
Yes, “more better” isn’t proper English but English is not my native language and I use it in bad way when I think more about WHAT to write than HOW to write
Team Edward or team Jesus?
Please check out my response to Humm, not far up the comments ^
Do you happen to have another?
So how was your Christmas?
Uh, the King James and NKJ are actually not the mowst creditable translations, just the oldest.
I love Failblog atheists <3
Jesus: BRB
What I want to know is who the hell is Jesususa!?
this one wasnt funny at all – just true. the guy in the truck obviously knew the line came from the terminator, just with alot more truth behind it.
Jesus never had an Uzi, though…
Jesus loves big, fuel guzzling US SUV vehicles??! True christianity is about modesty and love (no sexual love), so SUV and jesus is another joke after chimaera of democracy as explanated in USA.
To be honest, I think that’s a pickup truck, not an SUV.
Am I the only one who thinks “Team Jesus USA” sounds like a group having something to do with professional wrestling?
I designed a lot of witty robots on the amazing universe ROBLOX
Mine was good. I hope you have a great new year.
*frog and the princess
I have three questions about this.
Right, answering to you in the correct order.
It’d cause hemorrhaging when it bent down to drink water, my bad, forgot to put that, that would help lol
It’d cause hemorrhaging when it bent down to drink water
OK, now it’s writing some things I DON’T want up lol, like that last post.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a win?
Win!!
(: hahahahaha
