So, she has 7 kids, oldest of which is 11. She has no money, she will trade away the vaccines for her kids which she got FREE (and which anyone else would also be getting free), except the oldest one, he needs to be vaccinated so he could watch the kids? (huh)?

Yeah, but this also goes for the normal flu. H1N1 actually is slightly more deadly than the “normal” flu. The H stands for hemagglutinin, and the N stands for neuraminidase; the numbers stand for specific types of hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. These specific types (H1, N1) make it harder for the body to fight off the infection.

Um…. how many people do you know who has brought the vaccine home (outside of their bodies) in such a way that it can be traded for anything? Doctors and nurses administer the vaccine, they don’t send it home with you, for crying out loud.

I’m surprised with you people. Did no only else catch on to the fact that breeder is asking for 2 tickets? Who wants to place money on second ticket going to her new boyfriend of the month? Any takers? How about a side bet on her being back in 9 months, now single mother of 8 children, trading formula and diapers for something completely self-absorbed?

No only should she lose her children, she should be forced to have a hysterectomy to prevent any more crotch droppings. Furthermore, she should be forced to get a job and pay child support to each of the foster families who are raising her children, as well as repay any state benefits she received for the children.

On the other hand, a vaccination — while comparatively safer than actually becoming sick — offers resistance to one particular strain for about a year or two, at most. Catching the virus in the regular way and having your body fight that off is far riskier, it’s true, but it also gives you a resistance to that strain and a possible resistance to very similar strains for a lot longer — up to twenty years.

So, really, for the average healthy human being, it’s a bit of a toss-up when it comes to illnesses that are very unlikely to kill them. Personally, considering I’m part of a very low-risk demographic when it comes to H1N1, I’m letting the people who need the vaccine get theirs — and if I get sick, I’m going to do what everyone who catches a contagious disease should do: stay home until I recover.

That aside, children are NOT a low-risk demographic. They’re right up there with the elderly and the immunocompromised in the group of those who need the vaccine most. This woman horrifies me.

Yes, people have gotten very sick from both the seasonal flu and the swine flu, and some did die. The people who got it bad or died where those who had other issues before hand; the elderly, the very young, some pregnant women, and others with already compromised immune systems.

I worked in a hospital clinic during the peak of the swine flu season, September and October. Any one who had flu like symptoms during that time weren’t even allowed to come in to the clinic until they had a fever for more than four days or the cough was really bad in their chest. Otherwise those who called in to our office were told by our doctors to stay home because those who had come in (many) all had the H1N1 virus.
The peak season for the seasonal flu is around the middle of January. Anyone who has had flu like symptoms to this point has already had the swine flu. For the most part, from now until the end of the regular season, most people are not in danger of H1N1.
Both suck, and both can be very serious if not fatal, but for most typically healthy people will live through it no worse for the ware.
I also admit that I am not a proponent of most vaccines. I have not had the flu in at least ten+ years, and have never had an d never plan to get a flu shot. I will have my children vaccinated for things, but only with the preservative free kinds.
I will not comment on this woman’s parenting skills because I have no children of my own and I have no right.
