  1. victor says:

    dense?

  2. schmock says:

actually there are jewish boys (and girls) in Berlin

    • passerby says:

The original poster might even be one of the latter, which would make the question a lot more sensible.

      But as comebacks go…

  3. Failman says:

Why aren’t there any Jewish boys in Berlin?

  4. jam says:

Does it matter as long as they keep taking your breath away?

  5. Paulomarino says:

Why aren’t there any sausage rolls in my fridge? :(

  6. Michael says:

    So what’s the answer?

  7. julian berlin says:

Thankfully, by now, there are once again. Although I am probably more aware of the girls.

Unfortunately, there’s still right wing assholes there too. As is everywhere else in germany. And all over the rest of this shitty world.

    • jbt says:

I woudln’t use the term “right wing”, because you may find right wing people beyond the Jews, the Arabs, the Africans and so on…

      let’s call them racist assholes, which in this case, are usually, neo-nazi assholes who actually are not right wing at all;

  8. jammer says:

Actually, this is history fail by the second girl. There are plenty of jews in Berlin, we are living in 2009, not 1945… sigh.

    • jam says:

You sound wistful that it’s not 1945.

      • jammer says:

No, I am more annoyed by the fact that the war has been over since 64 years, and there are still people who think that Germany is full of Nazis or that there are no jews living here, although there are thankfully many jews that live in Germany.

        • dsp says:

I second that. It’s a shame how ignorant people from certain countries are regarding the developments of the past 60 years in Germany and Austria.

        • Clit_Commander says:

Germany is still full of Nazis, they just disguised themselves as christian-conservatives…
And these few Jews that where imported after the breakdown of the Soviet Union are too few to mention…i think there are more Kangaroos in german zoos than Jews in Germany…

          • jammer says:

You really should inform yourself before making wild guesses. Germany has the third largest jewish population in Europe.

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Jews#Jews_in_the_reunited_Germany_.28post-1990.29

            • Rackergen says:

              France: 60 million people, 650,000 jews – ~1%
              Great Britain: 60 million people, 300,000 jews – ~0.5%
              Germany: 80 million people, 200,000 jews – ~0.25%

New York City: 8.4 million people, ~2 million jews – ~24%

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_diaspora#The_Diaspora_in_Contemporary_Jewish_life

To have the third largest Jewish population in Europe is not that hard having by far the largest total population…

              • jammer says:

You are still not bringing any proof for Clit_Commander’s claim that Germany has more kangaroos than jews…

              • aaron says:

Jammer, you’re a god damned idiot… Germany may have the 3rd largest population, but let’s remind ourselves;; it may be 60 years later, but there are 6 million less jews on the planet because of the country of Germany. 6 MILLION. Inform yourself on that fact – we can move on and laugh about it but there are significantly less Jews in europe than at the outbreak of the war..

                • hi says:

More than 6 million, as those people would have had children, and their population would have increased along with everyone else.

                • jammer says:

No, not because of the country of Germany, but because of a generation of Germans that has nearly died out – Germans that are born after 1945 are completly innocent, and they do not deserve these prejudices. I do not need to inform myself about what happened, I know it too well, and it was a real tragedy. Thankfully Hitler is burning in hell now.

Todays Germany is an open-minded, tolerant country that acknowledges the past and does not want it to be forgotten, but for gods sake, most germans were not even born when the Nazi crimes were commited. Do innocent people really deserve to be faced with prejudices and cliché ?

          • Czuhc says:

Why don’t the kangaroos just jump over the fences ???

          • hobel says:

That would require about 100000 kangaroos.
For a country of 80000000 pple, that is a small number, there is e.g. a lot more muslims (think about 3000000).
But anyhow, there is jews in berlin, be sure. But thanks to eastern berlin, there is probably a lot more atheists.

          • cachai says:

            imported..?

and sure, germany is the ONLY country in the world that has nazis. and we don’t have fridges, electric power and live still in the tree-tops.

          • jamisings says:

Um, Nazis are atheists. They don’t believe in God.

            • mld1979 says:

And yet, Hitler frequently referred to God, and spoke AGAINST atheism:

In one 1933 speech, he said that “To do justice to God and our own conscience, we have turned once more to the German Volk.”

In another he said: “We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.”

Modern nazis MAY be, but Hitler most certainly was not.

            • BAM says:

              you need to educate yourself..

            • varenoea@web.de says:

              Oh dear, oh dear.

No, they weren’t. Actually, Pope Pius the umphteenth refused to excommunicate Hitler – and “was afterwards named Pope Gutless Bastard the First” (Eddie Izzard).

            • dave says:

Uh, no, that’s not true. Where did you get that idea?

        • Lolnathan says:

Thankfully? Is there some great benefit to having a bunch of Jews live in your country?

          • jammer says:

Yes, it is a great relieve to know that at least part of the jewish community has been able to let go of the past and prejudices and decided to live in Germany.

Its so sad. The Generations that lived during the Nazi times has nearly died out completly, and still there are prejudices against Germans who were not even born at the time the Nazis commited their crimes.

        • HE_HE says:

Thankfully is probably the wrong word.

        • Charlene says:

Or that there is only one community named Berlin in the entire world.

      • missdiz says:

Good old 1945. Now they were bathing suits!

  9. JBeargoneo says:

    I live in Hawaii, YAY!

  10. Czuhc says:

She wanna check attics and behind walls.

  11. BAReFOOt says:

    Up-to-date-history FAIL! And fail FAIL!

You know… there is something between then and now… I dunno… SIXTY YEARS or so!! ^^

Americans… I bet they still think we all run around in lederhosen, eat bratwurst and sauerkraut, and sing old Nazi songs… Yeah, I’m black and proud German, and from Berlin! Imagine that! ^^

    • Arthur Eld says:

So… you’re NOT wearing your Lederhose right now? That is illegal, I’ll have to report your behaviour to the authorities, which will take away your Sauerkraut supply.

    • Quinneze says:

Black…German? Does…not…compute. American understanding of Europe…does not match previous statement. Must return to home base in Disney World…to eat cheeseburgers and reboot.

    • coyoteman says:

How do you know either of them is American? Sounds to me like the typical European bigotry I run into all the time on the web.

      • liam =] says:

i would guess at them been american from the fact that they called football soccer and seen as i am from the UK i know that most english people at the least wouldnt call football soccer =]

        • coyoteman says:

          ?????? What I see is:

Why are there no Jewish boys in Berlin?
about an hour ago Comment Like

Do you really want someone to answer that?

          Write a comment.

I see nothing about soccer or footbal or any clue to either person’s nationality.

        • Why? says:

Isn’t there a British television show named “SOCCER A.M.”? What’s that all about? O.o

      • Pan Panpan says:

Probably none of the posters here is american. You’r all history-troubled germans, aren’t you?

  12. RedBulle says:

History fail by the second girl >.<
But yeah i guess they are from USA. What do you expect from a country that cant even find itself on a worldmap

    • Mookie says:

We have a map, and we are the only country on it. One great country, surrounded by lots and lots of colonies.

    • Scythelord says:

Too bad stereotypical imbecile bashing America has everything wrong.

Education in the US is top notch. Pointing out idiots that fill EVERY country as being some sort of American thing is moronic. If a country is somehow forgotten by the average citizen, it’s because it is not important on a world scale or has little impact on America.

      • Arthur Eld says:

Well, first of all, RedBulle wrote that Americans can’t find THEIR OWN country on a map. That makes your last sentence a bit stupid, doesn’t it?
Secondly, if the unimportant country you wanted to speak of is Germany, then your education isn’t as good as you’d like to think. Third to fourth largest economy in the world, exporting nation number 1 (soon 2, China is about to take over), top notch for many products… Unimportant?
Thirdly, the educational system in the US is both: Top notch (Universities), and pretty bad.

It’s funny to read your first sentence and then see you do the same thing.

        • AferVentus says:

Further to AE’s comment, I imagine the Joint Chiefs of Staff don’t consider Germany a particularly unimportant country …

      • lololol says:

“Education in the US is top notch.”

LOL. Let me guess, you’re American and you have no clue what you’re talking about?

        • mld1979 says:

Don’t assume all Americans will agree with that assinine assessment. Even the Sec.Ed. has said that US schools are in trouble, and I know from having gone to one that they suck (and I graduated–Or GED’d out, actually) 12 years ago. From what I hear, they’re not any better now

    • Jules says:

So spreading clichés about Germany is bad, but spreading clichés about the U.S. is perfectly alright?

People don’t ever seem to learn…

      • Ryannon says:

Don’t you know it’s the “in” thing to do, bash the US and the inhabitants. I just see it as a form of jealousy.

  13. Tim says:

Why is that funny? There a about 12,000 Jews in Berlin.

  14. psicosour says:

    It’s a Failblog’s fail.

  15. llamaz says:

I’d say thats a big fail fail. She could find some jewish boys for example at the jewish school in Berlin:
    http://www.berlin-judentum.de/englisch/school-2003.htm

  16. Phaet says:

I was wondering the same too.

  17. Arthur Eld says:

That really is a crappy fail. Poor choice.

  18. Me says:

I think I’m moving to Berlin

  19. Steve says:

Maybe she meant Berlin, New Hampshire.

Or perhaps she was referring to Irving Berlin?

  20. Ploerp says:

That’s one of the worst fails I’ve seen a while. Only ignorant Americans think there are no Jews in Berlin.

  21. JTD says:

She’s right .. I Went to Berlin and did not see one single yellow star. Umm guys… please note that I am kidding… but being of German heritage Berlin was like my Mecca.. there was no domes made out of rock though… damn .. but then off to Munich!!

  22. Danny says:

there are about 100000 jews in germany. in 1933 there were about 650000 on the territory what is germany nowadays.

  23. good good says:

Too bad Thrid Recih didn’t clear whole world of jew scum.

  24. Serdish says:

Berlin in ‘Turkeys’ third largest city….

  25. jewmelt says:

whats the diffrense between a pizza and a jew?

the pizza doesnt scream in the oven

nerds and jews have something in common

    none of them showers

how do you get 10 jews in a 2 seat car?

you put them in the ashtray

  26. Alastair27 says:

To everyone saying the war’s been over for 60 years: I have lived in Germany for 21 years and I have never met a single jew. At least not knowingly. Also there aren’t actually many neo-nazis in Germany (maybe in the east but not where I live). In fact most Germans have this guilt complex about the holocaust.

    • Ryannon says:

Have you met a Baptist or can you recognize them on sight? Do people make habits of walking around saying “Hi, my name is George and I am an Episcopalian”? How would anyone even know if someone was Jewish or not Jewish unless they stereotyped a certain look, looked for peyas or a yarmulke or maybe a little gold star, or they were part of that community/religion. While it is prudent for most non-proselytizing/non-zealous people to not advertise what religion or belief system they follow, I would imagine that Jews might still be a little careful in certain places and countries. I find fault in your statement that you have not met a single Jew. I think it is more that you have, you just don’t know it.

    • Ryannon says:

Gah! Another “i” word offense being moderated.

    • Ryannon says:

Have you met a Baptist or can you recognize them on sight? Do people make habits of walking around saying “Hi, my name is George and I am an Episcopalian”? I find fault in your statement that you have not met a single Jew. I think it is more that you have, you just don’t know it. (reposting to get past moderating)

      • Alastair27 says:

That’s why I said “not knowingly”. I meant that none of my friends or other people I know are jewish. Of course I most likely have seen a jew in the streets before. I really don’t think there would be any reason for a jew living in west germany to hide their beliefs though. I would say hate is generally more aimed at muslims here.

(what do you mean by: “Gah! Another “i” word offense being moderated.”)

      • Brettr says:

There are only 13million Jews out of 6 billion people and about 11 million of them live in the US or Israel. There is a pretty good chance that most people have never, or will never meet a Jew.

    • llamaz says:

The reason might be they do not run around with a yellow star anymore.

    • teezboy says:

i´ve never met a jew in my life either, at least not knowingly.

where i grew up there is a monument at the site where they burned down the synagogue/temple, so if you look closely things are still visible in small-town germany.

    • Not many Neo-nazis in Germany? Come on! They go out immigrant-bashing for fun on any night of the week – in the west as well as the east.

    • Way above average Joe says:

Seriously? Aside from the obvious fact that you (nor anyone else) probably can’t recognize jews on sight, so probably *did* meet a few. I would like to add another data point myself:
There were 3 jews (I know of) in my graduation class at school, 4 if we count dropouts. Considering that we were ~120 in total, that is 2.5%, which is quit significant

      • Alastair27 says:

        Was this in Germany?

        • Way above average Joe says:

Yes. Otherwise the comment would be as pointless as 99% of the comments on Failblog.

          • Alastair27 says:

Wikipedia says only 0,1% of the German population are Jews compared to 5% Muslims and 68% Christian. Of course chances are I have seen quite a few Jews without recognizing them as such (after all I will have seen way more than 1000 people in the 21 years I have been living here. Still 0,1% is nothing compared to the other major religions. According to Wikipedia there are 10 times more buddhists in Germany than Jews.

            inb4 Wikipedia isn’t the bible

  27. cbfvdgsy says:

Why are faecesbook names censured? They’re on the internet already anyway…

  28. CBGBs says:

Probably the best history fail ever!

  29. CBGBs says:

Let me re-phrase. Did not intend for that to be offensive, I meant this is probably the most colossal, dense, clueless history fail ever.

  30. Gernie H. says:

Actually, today, there are many Jews in Berlin.

  31. ElBarto says:

Is it hard to act like that or are you really that stupid?
Today, there live a lot of jews in germany. All what people thaught like and what happened in WW2 is not what the people think like today.
Btw: In WW2 the germans killed jews. But they actually were germans. The guys who killed the native americans were people from everywhere, so most of you aren’t really “americans”, just people from europe who killed the real “americans” to live there. And well… you nearly finished your job.

  32. The loller says:

There are 120,000 jews in berlin. It’s not an history fail it’s a complete fail because it isn’t even true.

  33. Deine Mami says:

She has to open her eyes. o.o

  34. Philip says:

I consider your “history fail” a history fail.

It’s been 64 years since World War 2. After WW2, (west) Germany tried to repair the damage and is therefore the country with the most severe punishment for acting Nazi-like (owning mein kampf, displaying a swatstika, etc).

Furthermore, it’s an understanding of reality fail on your part.
She, a girl, complains about there being no Jewish boys in Berlin, on a website intended for meeting friends. What possible reason could there be for complaining about that, except if she herself is a Jew (and prefers to date within her culture/race)?

Honestly, she’s probably a Berliner Jew.

    Therefore, you fail massively.

    • stix213 says:

Since she posted in English and not in German, she probably is likely not a Berlin native.

      • tygrysica says:

well i use english on my facebook, ’cause i have friends from other countries than my own.
all kinds of ppl nowdays use english on teh internetz all the time. sorry to disappoint you.

    • Emily says:

I am a new yorker living in Berlin and yes, a Jew. It was simply a post that i wrote on my PERSONAL facebook page because i think it is curious that i meet SO many Jewish women here, but no Jewish men….

  35. Deine Mami says:

It’s not illegal to own “Mein Kampf”… btw… and so on…

You know a jew is a sensation in Berlin because they don’t life longer than 10 minutes… Inofficial Germany is the Nazi-Dictatorship as 70 years ago… but we don’t say it someone. We act that we are a democracy, shaking hands, making plans… and at home, we take our Nazi flag and sing Deutschland Deutschland über alles… At School we have to wear these brown uniforms… its so cool… yes, germany is so wonderful… the whole world should be germany.

  36. Deine Mami says:

If you think my english is disgusting you can own it.

    • knifftel says:

      u mean “keep it” ;) u’re welcome

believe it or not: i’m german and i actually met a jew!!! he was a neighbour of mine… well, till i found out… and now… let’s say he’s just gone ;) no, actually he moved a couple of years ago but he s still a pretty good friend…
and sadly we do have nazis -.- but it’s just a small percentage… not more than the percentage of fascist in any every other country
and this muslim hate thing is a little bit overdone!

  37. Michel says:

I am German and i think that this is definetly NOT funny. We Germans are NO nazis. theres only i tiny bunch of retards, like they exist in every country

  38. Grouel says:

Why there are no native american where the conquistadores went through?
Why there are no forest where the cities were built?

  39. Jennerwein (from Germany) says:

This is the best discussion ever (except for a few really retarded comments), and I am happy to report that my hope for mankind is herewith restored.

Although there seems to be a terrible lack of knowledge about the Third Reich, the number of people who do know is much higher. A good start, I tell you.

  40. none says:

    What a f—— idiot…

  41. slim says:

whatever the holocaust is a hoax made up by jews to make people feel sorry for them!

  42. LilMaibe says:

Why do so many americans fail when it comes to basic intelligence? *sighs*
(though, as often wondered at these kind of fails: People DO manage to make an account at sites like yahoo!answer etc but are unable to type (for this case for example) jews, jewish community or synagoge + berlin into google or wikipedia?!)

    • stix213 says:

Your comment appears to be an English fail… and I’m not going to reread it a 4th time to try to figure out which words of yours were on purpose and which were typo’s to decipher your comment’s actual meaning.

      • mld1979 says:

comment meaning: “Why does someone have the ability to set up a yahoo answers account and not the ability to serch google or wikipedia with “jews, jewish community or synagoge + berlin”

I’m half asleep read it twice, and got it. Worded badly, but comprehensible

    • mld1979 says:

site recognition fail. That appears to be facebook

    • Why? says:

“Why do so many americans fail when it comes to basic intelligence?”

Why would an American care if there Jewish boys in Berlin? The girl is obviously German but typing in a language that doesn’t sound like angry yelling.

  43. berlin says:

Well, Failblog seems to become the number 1 fail site. And I don’t meant showing fails, but failing themselves

  44. Jonhy05 says:

Goooo go go go Germany west-side!

  45. Scarclaw says:

What if it was Berlin New Hampshire she was referring too?

  46. Sir Galahad says:

Brains- that is wat you all need. There are Jewish boys in Berlin. My friend had a exchanged student from Berlin and he was Jewish. He wasn’t like all “Christmas???How dare you!” not that Jewish ppl dont like Christmas but he wasnt offened that they werent Jewish

    • mld1979 says:

apparently you need reading comprehension. The majority of “us all” acknowledge that there ARE Jews (including boys!) in Berlin.

    • Joyful says:

You could also use spelling help, punctuation help, grammar help and sense of humor help. Work on that, eh?

  47. Sir Galahad says:

and in new hampshire?? really???? my god you hav NO brains

  48. al says:

[just in case it hasn't posted yet]

    !HOLOCAUST FAIL!

  49. Emily says:

For everyones information. I am the origional poster of this on Facebook, and I am a Jew living in Berlin…. I know tons of other female Jews here, but I cant seem to meet any men…. whats the deal?

  50. Johannes says:

    This discussion made my day.

    Thanks all!

  51. Tiff says:

There are loads of Jewish boys in Berlin… It’s actually VERY multicultural now.

  52. Sarah says:

Since the question has been asked, the world Jewish population actually fell by 80% since the Nazi takeover from the 1930’s to 1940’s.

    That’s a lot of deaths.

The Jews the world has now are the survivors of the racism against them from the 20th century.

  53. Hurlos says:

its a freaking 2x Fail she ask stupid and she answers stupid instead correcting her

and yes there jewish boys maybe there parents warn them about her. xD

  54. Joyful says:

Everyone knows it’s been a few years, and yes, there are Jews in Berlin again, though not as many, but all this is beside the point! The original post is FUNNY! It’s not meant to correct a huge historical point. IT’S FUNNY!

    Sheesh!

  55. robert says:

    Generation Stoooopid.

  56. persoopelis says:

it’s the same as asking “why are there no Armenians in Turkey?”

  57. Someone says:

I’m not sure who fails more– the one who doesn’t know about WWII or the one that confuses WWI with WWII.

  58. Joige says:

That post was on a beta of facebook they were working on 60 years ago.

  59. Hamam says:

    Dude, that made my day

  60. kevin karch says:

The girl who answered that is my classmate megan rush

  61. John says:
