You know what guys, why don’t we just ignore the stupid title and enjoy the video?

Everyone’s complaining about the title makes me sick… Reminds me of when FailBlog won the Webbys. Everyone just complained and complained. If you can’t accept an ignorant title, then just quietly think it over in your own head. I’m sure the editors of FailBlog have realized what they’ve done wrong.

Also, as I said before, it’s anybody’s first instinct to get at Fox or ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES (ahem) for little mistakes. That’s what happens with highly criticized news stations…

Missing a Live broadcast cue then saying “whut?” has nothing to do with journalistic integrity.

This is like showing video of a guy getting tripped on his porch
with a title that says “Man is guilty of child sexual abuse!”

Tremendous Fail of a fail video due to poster title.
Poster fails at basic logic…
Video would have been funny if not for the obvious partisan-ship.

I agree, this fail is a fail.
Everyone is assuming this is the cable new channel, while its only a local news broadcast.

I don’t understand why so many people bash Fox News, if you don’t like it, simply don’t watch it!
You don’t see conservatives bashing MSNBC, or ABC, or CNN.
And if they did, they would be bashed themselves.

The fact is that Faux News is brimming with opinionated/biased “news” (as people were so vigorously flaming about earlier). There’s no denying that.

Although I do agree with you Mick (and everyone else who has made a similar comment), you have to recognize that a station with a bad reputation is more likely to be criticized for its little mistakes. Therefore, I do not believe that it is a FAIL to relate this video to journalistic integrity, only the first instinct of the writer of this post’s title.

Where this gets tricky is when people are actually wrong. I agree that we should be civil, but that includes conceding when you are proven wrong. Everybody says “give us our say”, but that seems to imply that everybody’s argument is valid.

I saw a quote from Richard Dawkins (not bout atheism, but debate in general) that went something like “just because you have the right to free speech, it doesn’t mean you have the right to be respected for what you say.”

No one said anything about the government regulating media outlets. I’m fully in favor of the first amendment. There’s a difference between finding something unethical (such as the presentation of opinion under the guise of news) and wanting to legislate against it. I support FOX’s right to do what they do, I just find it unethical.

The issue with FOX is not simply that they’re biased. The problem is that a majority of the station’s prime time programming is opinion-based (Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly to name a few), while the fact that these programs represent personal opinion and not news is not sufficiently clear to most viewers. It’s difficult to believe that FOX is not aware of this issue, so one cannot help but feel as though they are exploiting it by not trying to set the record straight. Other news stations certainly do air opinion programming (much of it with a liberal bias), however, other stations do not seem to have the same problems with people confusing their opinion shows for news.

My issue with this fail is that it has nothing to do with journalistic integrity. The OP’s title displays their own personal bias against FOX and does not in any way describe the video they posted. I agree that this fail is, while entertaining, still a fail.

Yes, that was also my point about the other networks not really being that liberal. Still, I’ll concede that they’re not actually in bed with the Republicans per se. They have their pretend Libertarians, and their primary goal is to further Murdoch’s personal agenda. Where it aligns with the Republican party, great. I see. So a one word mistake completely invalidates my entire argument. Gee, it must be nice being perfect. Yes, Fox News is a network, not a show. It’s easy to confuse the two, as the stuff on their network often seems like the same show, which was pretty much my point. I’ve been in the same room with it playing hour after hour, and it’s pretty much the same lame theme hour after hour.
