If it’s japanese then the translator messed up royally.
The translator probably messed up royally no matter the language, but i know an itsy bitsy amount of japanese, so i’ve no idea how they’d get that translation of the title.
The katakana at lower right actually does say Buresto Cheisa. But, that’s how they do all foreign loan-words so I don’t know. I’m not good at reading kanji so I don’t know what the other stuff says. Someone should look for more info and give us a clickie.

I thought this was Engrish, too. But thanks PTB for giving us more comment fodder. Some of us spend waaay too much time checking the FailBlog and trying to make others snort coffee through their noses but it makes us happy, and isn’t that what counts?
The translation is correct. It’s written in Japanese underneath it, and it says exactly the same thing.
Now, maybe the whole book is a fail… But the translation is spot on.

Dude, there’s no fail here. You fail. It’s a robot called Breast Chaser.
That robot is from an anime called Cho Kosoku Galvion, a promising but unsuccessful anime show from the 1980’s. There are plenty of clips of it on Youtube. The theme song “Lonely Chaser” was very good.
Anyway this particular robot was called Burst Chaser. Due to the oddities of rendering English words with Japanese syllables, Burst became buresuto which became Breast and that’s how the box ended up being funny.

Actually, that’s probably an accurate translation. One of the Destron combiner teams in Transformers Victory was actually called the “Breast Force”. Its name likely stems from the Japanese person who named them not understanding the very modern connotation of “breast” that assumes you’re talking about those rotund features on a woman’s chest. It wasn’t that long ago that “breast” was just another way of saying “chest”. Pick up any Shakespeare play if you don’t believe me. I would bet that you’ll find some guy in any of them talking about his own breast.

Yup–and presuming you’re refering to ‘breast’ in it’s older meaning as being synonymous with chests in general (as in ‘music to tame the savage breast’) rather than just *female* mammaries, ‘Breast Force’ was accurate, as it refered to a line of characters/toys where the chests detached and transformed into sidekick ‘bots. The chest-pieces also combined into another bot as well, IIRC.

I’m guessing from the name it doesn’t belong to any of the main guys from the ‘Gundam Wing’ series. They never struck me as breast chasers, if you know what I mean…
