UH, I am calling Photoshopped. Yeah right, the name of the store is “GUNS” and “DONUTS”

  15. Varkaad says:

    FAIL

  16. Dennis says:

    More photoshop crap…

    • Brooke says:

I live in farmesville. It’s a real sign that’s been there for years. The daycare center has been closed for a while, but no one has changes the sign. On the corner of Hwy 78 and Hwy 380

    • Dizzy says:

      I didn’t photoshop this. :|

      (I submitted this photo)

  17. mulva says:

reminds me of the song lawyers, guns and money

  18. Jayhawker says:

All they need to be PERFECT rednecks is a liquor store with those three.

  19. Andreday says:

totally photoshopped. those signs are too clean!

    • Brooke says:

Totally real. I live there. That sign has been there for years. Daycare has been closed for a while, but no one has changed the sign.

    • Rob says:

This reply is not real, it has been photoshopped. A real dot on the “i” in 9 point Eudora Light had one pixel, not two.

  20. Andreday says:

    sombody call that goddamn number!

  21. ActionHobo says:

I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THIS IS!

  22. novackus says:

Shopped, otherwise phone number would’ve been pixeled out.

  23. Sean Sorrentino says:

    Phone is listed to

    Joyce Hawkins
    15394 County Road 617
    Farmersville, TX 75442-5512

Google Maps says that is Lighthouse Day School, but also says it is permanently closed.

The nearest Donut store to that address is
    Best Donuts
    602 State Highway 78N, Ste 105
    Farmersville, TX 75442
3.1 miles away. Gun store is even further. Try Streetview to see that the photo above is nothing like the terrain and flora of Texas.

    • Avis says:

Texas has all types of terrain.

    • CIS says:

its creepy that people can learn that.

    • Natonic says:

Not photoshopped. I used to drive by it frequently leaving work in Greenville, TX. It is true that this is an older picture though. I believe the day school closed down several years ago Averey P. beat me to the post. I’ve been hanging on to three pictures of this sign myself since 2003. Here is the Streetview of the shopping center (you can see that the bottom section is for a new business rather than the dayschool): http://is.gd/4zJyH

    • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

I tried Google Maps. There’s no streetview at this point. In fact, there’s no street at this point. But there is an aerial view.

Oddly enough, the only thing visible at this point appears to be a lopsided crop circle.

    • Hannah says:

Nothing like the terrain and flora of Texas? Wow, I’m glad you can learn that from your Google “research” (and probably too many Westerns).

      1. You can’t even see the terrain in the picture. It’s a parking lot.
      2. While I’m glad you know what the world “flora” means, you obviously know nothing about the actual subject. The cactus is not the only plant in Texas, contrary to popular belief. We have a very wide range of “terrain and flora,” from big oak trees (like the picture, in the northeast), to desert areas (west), and even palm trees (Houston, Galveston, small islands).

It’s ridiculous to say that the photo is nothing like Texas based on your obviously VERY limited knowledge and the 2 trees in the photo. Although I’m very curious to know what your idea of Texas’ terrain is…

I live about an hour from where this picture was taken (and I’ve actually seen this sign, although now it says “Donuts, Guns, Archery” and they’re all in the same shopping center). My front yard is all oak and maple trees (they look a lot like the trees in the picture), and my back yard is basically a forest of those and also some pine/evergreens.

      /rant

    • CB says:

Sorry, but I’ve driven past this on my way from McKinney to Greenville, so yes, it’s real.

Like the other poster, I’m wondering what you consider “terrain and flora of Texas”? Check the link below, look at the Streetview, then go to the Aerial view and back up till you see Dallas.

      Looks pretty Texas to me.

  24. hempa says:

    obviously photoshopped :P

    • Brooke says:

nope. I live in Farmersville. It’s been there for years. I drive by it multiple times a day. Corner of Hwy78 and Hwy 380

  25. Jennifer says:

You get a donut, drop the kids off, and then you go blow off some stem shooting guns. It sounds like a normal day to me.

    • Steve says:

Out of curiousity, I clicked on your name, and what seems like a ‘normal day’ to you is standing in your bathroom taking pictures of yourself. i find that odd, Jennifer. I really do.

    • Sammy says:

This link causes a virus. Took an hour to get off my computer. Sucker, thy name is me.

  26. Jiow says:

    cop win

  27. rex says:

that’s horrible the kids could become obese eating all those donuts

  28. Willie says:

    =O
    The number is showing!

  29. edmonddantes says:

    USA in a nutshell.

  30. Someone says:

Guns? Donuts? So this is the place good cops go to when they die!

  31. miamind says:

It’s real, not shopped – I pass it everyday on the way to work. It’s at the corner of 380 & 78 in Farmersville, a couple of miles from Lake Lavon. It’s very typical terrain/flora for northeast Texas – one of the many small towns that frame the suburbs of Dallas.

    • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

I also looked this one up on Google. Again, no streetview. But no crop circle this time.

      • fluffy says:

Actually, I was able to find the street view. You need to look up “J Leslie’s Guns, 1055 Audie Murphy Dr W, Farmersville, TX‎”. That’s the gun shop that’s by hwy 380 and hwy 78.
You need to play around with the point of view before you see the sign, and even when you do, it’s hard to read it. From what I can tell the first 2 lines are Donuts and Guns, but I’m not sure the third line says “day care”.

        • TheEyesHaveIt says:

The third line says “Archery” and it’s definitely the same sign, as you can recognize the building in the background. So yeah… totally photshopped.
The business listed on the map is North Texas Archery and Outfitting.
I guess the donuts would fall under the “outfitting” part. o_O

          • TheEyesHaveIt says:

            Hmmm… GoogleMap says:

            “At this address:
Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints‎
            J Leslie’s Guns‎
            North Texas Archery & Outfttng‎
            Paradise Isle Game Room‎
            Pizza Street‎
            Stanley Services‎
            Sweet Donuts‎”

            Odd mix of businesses, there.

          • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

YES! I got the streetview to work. I am accustomed to Google Earth where you see the little icons displayed in a row on the street…anyway, yes, I saw the sign, and yes, the third line says “archery”.

But as was pointed out earlier, the school has been closed for awhile, so probably the archery store took its place in the mini-mall.

“Mini-mall”…unfortunately I just got the “Flea Market Montgomery” rap stuck in my head again.

            • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

Here is the link to the streetview photo of the sign:

              [http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1055+Audie+Murphy+Dr+W,+Farmersville,+TX&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=32.252269,55.458984&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=1055+Audie+Murphy+Pkwy+W,+Farmersville,+Collin,+Texas+75442&ll=33.157888,-96.375901&spn=0.00104,0.001692&t=h&z=19&layer=c&cbll=33.157842,-96.375564&panoid=WNFdLgxZHB-X2bszVj_iTg&cbp=12,215.79,,2,2.58]

            • Brooke says:

I grew up in farmersville. The nursery has been closed for 5+ years, but they’ve never changed it. We all get a kick out of it. :)

          • Brooke says:

not photoshopped. Completely real. I live in Farmersville. The archery place is there too.

  32. Weak says:

    weak submission

    • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

When I look for submission, I prefer the weak ones.

You see, I like my women like I like my coffee: cold, weak, and bitter.

      • sauerkraut says:

        * Grabs Gracie’s bat. *
        * Adjusts grip and stance.*
We call this culling the herd ala Sondra Bernhardt.
        *THWACK*
        * Prepares Gracie’s bat for its next job.*

        • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

I asked Google, and it said:

          Did you mean: Sandra Bernhard?

So…did you mean Sandra Bernhard? Never heard of Sondra Bernhardt, but I live a sheltered life.

    • Donald Zerli, Patriot says:

(snaps his riding crop smartly against the side of his boots)

  33. LuvBJones says:

I prefer my strip mall shops to have single-word names. Then I can go to “Donuts” and have “Glazed.”

  34. Schmitt says:

    That ain’t no fail…
    That’s a paradise for cops

  35. Basara says:

Probably the safest place in the county for your kids – the cops stop to buy ammo and accessories, and stick around for donuts, until they answer a call.

And, one can NEVER trust Google maps and streetview to give correct information. I kept putting in information like Sean used to try to track down the spot, to track down my brother’s doctor’s office to get map directions. I found a doctor’s office, but it WASN’T his (Was miles away, in fact). And, none of the businesses in the picture were listed in Google maps as even existing (you have to pay for most business listings).

The next week, that doctor had him go to a place to get an MRI. I even had a street address for that one. Google Maps put the business, 1000 feet from the county hospital, in a neighboring county, TEN miles away from its real location, and put it on a “street” (I use the term loosely) of 6 trailers and a farmhouse surrounded by a couple thousand acres of farmland… I vowed never to use that service for directions again.

  36. Daniel says:

Someday when I get married, I can be like, “Don’t worry honey, I’ll drop the kids off, pick up the donuts, and shoot some guns for you today.”

  37. Jen says:

Hey, this might be real and not photoshopped. Problem is, so far I can’t tell from the view I see from Google Maps streetview:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Farmersville%20Texas%20380%20%26%2078&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl

It definitely says “Donuts” and “Guns”, but I have trouble reading the third sign down. Anyone else see it?

  38. Judy says:

So much for my Saturday pop-in. Back to bejeweled.

  39. TerminatorT says:

the donuts are for luring all the security guards away.

  40. Roland of Gilead says:

So that`s how they make the hole in the middle, always wondered about that

  41. Steve says:

Looks like a WIN to me!

  42. KGR says:

I wish I went to thattype of school XD

  43. ts6788 says:

    Only in Texas….
hey they left a number to call :)

  44. ts6788 says:

as anyone even bother to researched the area code?
    its Dallas, Texas !

  45. ShadowTheSniperZombie C.C.C./Head of the Janitors' Union/Co-owner of ZombieTrollNetwork says:

  46. ShadowTheSniperZombie C.C.C./Head of the Janitors' Union/Co-owner of ZombieTrollNetwork says:

Hello all. Sorry I wasn’t here earlier. My car broke down because someone shot out my tires and they were eating a doughnut and coming out of a day school.

  47. Ace5762 says:

Donuts, Guns and Daycare. The perfect one stop shop for all a policeman’s needs.

  48. Edward/Special Troll Defense (STD) says:

    F*CK YOU!

    • ShadowTheSniperZombie C.C.C./Head of the Janitors' Union/Co-owner of ZombieTrollNetwork says:

*holds down E/STD (STD) and gives a cold glass of water*

    • failinator/co owner of the ztn/assylum escapee/janitor superspy says:

Does the STD have anything to do with the ZTN?

  49. poisionade says:

This is faker than Pamela Anderson’s boobs.

  50. Brooke says:

I grew up in Farmersville. That sign has been there since I was a kid. We always got a kick out of it. :) So proud of my hometown!

  51. Brandy says:

Funny enough this is actually in my home time….I’ve lived there for over ten years and still go often and never even paid attention to this!

  52. ShadowTheSniperZombie C.C.C./Head of the Janitors' Union/Co-owner of ZombieTrollNetwork says:

    Made in the USA.

  53. Marius says:

  56. jinxed_07 says:

  57. failinator/co owner of the ztn/assylum escapee/janitor superspy says:

Next on ztn: tha Zombie troll cliff.

  58. sick says:

Awesome, all they need is liquor and I’m moving there.
Maybe a few democrat targets to shoot at too.

  59. Robert says:

  64. Charles says:

  71. Jonny says:

You can get free games and stuff at freethings4u.tk

  72. TTT says:

This photo is out of date but this sign was once VERY real (NOT photoshopped)! This exact photo was even used years ago as an album cover to a local band in North Texas

  73. Poopy McFart says:

This picture is FAKE. The letters are totally Photoshopped and the phone number isn’t even real, call it.

  74. "No Shit" Sherlock says:

Checked Stroogle Geet View and found the building. but no sign.
    *wants Farmesville residents to explain*

  75. Hannah says:

I took these pictures TODAY of the sign and the shopping center. The school is long gone (I’ve driven past the place for almost 2 years and I never saw the day school sign, it was always archery), and this is what it looks like now.

    the sign:
    http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2701/img6255w.jpg

the shopping center (with captions of what each place is):
    http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2981/img6256captions.jpg

other side of the center (donut shop and archery place, both closed at the time):
    http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/2158/img6253w.jpg

    sign across the street (location):
    http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/6333/img6259k.jpg

The donut shop is called Daylight Donuts, and the archery place is North Texas Archery. The gun store just says “Guns: Ammunition-Supplies, Buy-Sell-Trade.”

    • philip says:

If you havent read the numerous comments stating that it is real, then i dont know what else people have to say to convince you. Also, you may have lived in farmersville for 2 years, i on the other hand lived there for 12. and yes it did truly say day care. its been a couple of years since the day school shut down. (im surprised it took that long. heheheh) my dad actually commented once how he wanted to submit the sign to jay leno or one of those talk show hosts. i cant remember which one. haha

      • Paul says:

        hi philip!

      • TTT says:

        THANK you!

      • Hannah says:

Did I ever say I didn’t think it was real? Answer: NO. I was just offering some pictures of what it is now, since the Google streetview pictures other people have found aren’t very good and I thought I’d give some context. If you actually READ my comment, I said that the school is long gone (acknowledging that it once was there, which I learned from the comments here). I was just saying that I never saw the day care sign because it’s been archery ever since I’ve been driving past (I also never said I lived in Farmersville. I don’t; I drive through the town in between home and college). I actually commented somewhere else above this that when I first saw the picture on here, I thought it was shopped because I recognized the sign and building but I had never seen the day school part.

  76. KIRAKITTEH says:

    CORRECTION!!
    1st two = win
    Last one = epic fail
    win+Epic Fail=Fail

  77. Shads says:

My goodness! It’s a school run by Vash the Stampede!

(For those of you into old anime).

  78. Nic says:

    Wow thats an odd variety

  79. omgabb says:

can SUMONE PLZ XPLANE…i dont get it. COZ i aint GETTIN it.

P.S- im leting U know that im writing all my misspelt words in uper-case because i feel LYKE writing them like DIS.

  80. JG says:

I think its obscene to expect me to come into proximity with other people’s children while shopping for guns and doughnuts.

  81. "no shit" Sherlock says:

    *believes Hannah*
must have gotten wrong playe ond Stroogle Geet, buiding looked very similar. i didnt find anything at Hwy 78 / Hwy 380 which is where i was told it is

  82. Matt Scheaffer says:

Wow. An obviously photoshopped thinly veiled attempt to make guns look bad. Because I am sure the gunshop would sell guns to preschoolers.

  83. KFed04 says:

I think this is one of the first “Fail” Fails I’ve seen in a while.

Personally I have no problem dropping off the kids while I pick up some more ammo and grab a coffee and snack. How convenient!

  84. Jay Insult says:

Actually, this sign appears on the back cover of the album “Dork Rock Cork Rod” (speaking of palindromes, oddly enough) by New Jersey punk rock band The Ergs! It’s a totally different photo, with the band standing in front of the sign. Legit!

    • TTT says:

A photo of the same sign from a different angle was also used as the front cover of the “Pure Health” album by Early Lines (Plano, TX). The back cover was one of them eating a donut, another holding a gun, and another holding a baby.

  85. Wazza says:

obviously a training academy for junior police officers

  86. Heather says:

    Ah, Texas. Gotta love it.

  87. anon says:

    shopped!

  88. Stephen says:

Again, how is this a fail? This is full of win.

  89. Blue says:

LOL, Farmersville Tx. I think they recently took down that sign.

  90. Vertigo says:

    in order of importance

  91. Cam says:

Don’t see the fail. It seems convenient really

  92. Wolfenpilot687 says:

    CHIEF WIGGUM’S SEAL OF APPROVAL.

  93. greenm86 says:

This is in Farmersville, TX but I’m pretty sure the day school had moved out last time I was driving on 380. I think its Donuts Guns and Archery or something now.

  94. Arielle says:

For those doubting the realism… I used to live right down the street from this sign. It most assuredly is real. I don’t remember if it still says that, but yeah, it used to say something about Archery. There really is a daycare though, and the gun shop is on the other side of the “shopping center”. The donut shop is right next door to the daycare.

lol :) So glad somebody posted this!
