As well you should, Walrus. If you previously lurked for any amount of time here, you will have found that most people’s comments are well- thought-out and witty. We take time to formulate our responses, because it makes it all that much more fun and funny for the rest of us, and we can play off each other better. I think what Brewski is trying to say is that you should think about what you post before you post it.

Down with that sort of thing is from an old tv comedy series in Ireland and England called Father Ted. It ran for three seasons in the 90’s.
I dunno if you guys know this, but “Down with this sort of thing” is a quote from a british comedy called “Father Ted”. I believe the person in the pic is referencing that, so it’s not really a fail, more of a win because Father Ted is hilarious

Arthur, what I meant on the previous fail is that I experience discomfort participating on Failblog despite the enjoyment I get from posts like the ones you give. And, yes, I’m looking to curtail my participation here. And, no, believe it or not, this is not your fault.
Rather than take up a lot of “down with this sort of thing” space here in the FB comments with another editorial, I’ll look to post a “good-bye” to the failpeeps blog later today. In the end, though, I come here to have fun, and for reasons I’ve mentioned in other posts, I have just found it increasingly un-fun lately.

Fuzz, I do understand your frustration. I have done a bit of thinking of late and realized failblog has not really changed since I started posting here. My next step was to rediscover my original reasons for posting. To my delight they are still valid. There will always be people and subjects I find distasteful just as there will always be those that I adore. I would be sad to know a friend did not show up at a party due to a dislike rather than popping in to see what he liked. You would be missed.

When I was driving to meet MRN, I got majorly delayed by a disabled Fried Dough trailer. Is that weird or what?

They made a potato cannon sealed with duct tape, picked up a car with the stuff, made an entire cannon (that shot, successfully, an 18+ pound ball), and they made a sail boat- complete with sail- out of duct tape.

No, funnel cake is an entirely different, but just as tasty treat. Fried dough is just that, dough that has been dropped in the fryer. I usually use Rhode’s frozen roll dough, flatten it out and drop it in. Serve with honey!

“Down with this sort of thing”, is off an Irish show called Father ted, so i guess a loda people wouldnt get that joke, think its being aired in other countries too though.
The great thing about this sign is it can work for both protests and rallies. At rallies, just add a post-it note with “I’m” at the top.

Guy’s probably a serial protestor who got tired of making up a new sign for each new cause. Eventually he’ll get tired of travelling to the protests and just carry a sign with him wherever he roams that says ‘Down with Everything’
EPIC WIN – on this side of the pond at least. Merkins must start to get out more often.
This isn’t really a fail, the slogan “Down With This Sort of Thing” comes from the sitcom ‘Father Ted’, when two priests are forced to protest over a blasphemous film, the humour is hard to understand unless you watch it.
The sign is just referencing that for a joke, bringing a light-hearted edge to a protest that might well need that.
