  11. The Moomin says:

The car has so much horsepower they installed a special horsedoor to keep it in check. No fail here.

  12. Gorgon Medusa says:

    How did THAT happen?

What held the door trim in place?

    Odd, very odd.

Oh, and I HATE working on doors.

    Doors and heater cores. Ugh.

    • Laila Medusa says:

Honey, the Door and the Heater Core are fighting again!

    • Aja says:

The owner has OCD. The trim has been caked to junk on the back seat.

    • alway says:

That is reminiscent of my van’s door… My dad tried to fix the windows (the motor seems to burn out or something when putting them back up) and ended up screwing up the window switches as well was pulling the plastic inside half of the door off. Now it dangles there held only by the speaker, lock, and window wires.

  13. YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHH FIRST!!!

  14. Ian says:

this is a set up fail, door panels just don’t fall off!

  15. Tibi says:

I told him not to use American locks on Chinese plastic

  16. Odar X says:

What’s the fail here? Door panel came off the door? On an old crappy car? LOL! Or someone dismantled the panel and stowed it in the door opening? Wow, that’s hillarious!

    • Madness says:

They had to take the door panel off so it would keep the junk in the back seat from falling out when they open the door. It’s obvious.

  17. Thunderfox says:

Didn’t this happen on Top Gear? I seem to recall Jeremy Clarkson purchasing an old car and the door doing that.

  18. Hass says:

Its a stable door for cars, its the new in thing!

  19. is this a reliant K car?

  20. Hot Sauce says:

  22. Matt says:

    I’m a door half-open kind of guy

  23. Erinyes says:

The car was probably made by British Layland.

  24. Dr. Oppotimus says:

You put your weed in there man!

  25. Gigel says:

Can you believe it’s a car as reliable as a Ford Taurus?

  26. Ryan says:

My Neon did the exact same thing, except it was the driver’s door, it was mid-winter in Chicago’s brutal ‘09 cold spell, and it shattered the window in the process.

  27. B^2 says:

I’m pretty sure that’s my ex-boyfriend’s car… Same door, same car model, same color. HA!

  28. Disagreement-Is-Denial! says:

I wonder what the back seat passenger’s face looked like when this happened…

    • B^2 says:

If it was anything like mine when I first realized it was broke… something between “HOLYSNAPI’MSORRY.” and utter confusion.

  29. Mike M says:

This is a 1996-1999 Ford Taurus.

It is also staged. You can NOT get the door panel to come off like that “accidentally” without breaking out the door panel around the door handle or breaking off the door handle itself – the door doesn’t pull straight off the door, but has to go sideways before pulling off.

Also note the lack of the weather sheeting that lines the inside of the door structure when the car comes from the factory.

And there is NO way the door trim panel could have jammed inside the opening for the door. There is nothing for it to catch on unless it is grossly oversized.

This is nothing but a STAGE FAIL

    • bookbug says:

um, NO. my brother’s car (which i think this is my brother’s car) is exactly like this. so you are wrong and over-thinking the picture.

      • Mike M says:

        I have a 1997 myself.

You can NOT pull the door off that way. There is a screw within the door panel you have to remove, you have to pop off an acess cover under the handle, then pry the trim tabs off carefully, then slide the door forward and out. If it just “stuck”, then you would have had broken plastic everywhere – like 90% of these panels you find in a salvage yard, where the people had no clue how to properly remove them.

And as I pointed out, the weather sheeting has been removed in this picture.

And there is NOTHING for the trim panel to catch on inside the car.

There is ZERO chance this isn’t staged.

The car may have needed repair and the owner may have botched the job royally – but you’re talking an insane level of screw-up on a repair job here.

  30. ts6788 says:

    Made in china

  31. C says:

Ouch! This is quite piercing Dx Ouch ouch..

  32. IPv6Freely says:

Must be an American made car…

  33. This is a Sable or Taurus. I have the same car and the same fu*&in thing happens to me, its been fixed multiple times yet it keeps happening.

*Prepare for all your door handles to start sticking so when an unsuspected that sits in your back seat doesn’t push it back down from the outside, the car door goes flying open when you go around a turn! That’s a great FAIL as well.

WAY TO GO FORD!!! KEEP SLACKEN AT THAT ASSEMBLY LINE!!!

    • And to you people thinking its screws and bolts and crap… your wrong they are little plastic cilps… once they come uncliped you have to buy them, and fix it again cause they are the “pop in” kind…

  34. DrSNAFU says:

I fought the door and the-
    Door won.

  35. cinsellik says:

    And an Assassination
