Read the book, nice, had some serious laughs, but nothing new for Failblog fans except the combining structure, which is nice. Some pics are quite hard to get at that sometimes tiny size, though.

Don’t FAIL the contest? The contest is already fail. Anything to do with iPods is fail by default.

You can submit a receipt for the book, a photo of you with the (physical) book, or a photo of you with the book from an online retailer. If you submit a photo, you cannot use the same entry more than once.

Also would like quick clarification. Rules indicate that a picture with the cover from Amazon or another site is a legit entry. Is that correct? I see in a previous entry that only a photo with an actual book is kosher. That seems to contradict the actual rules.

Yeah, and I was saying you were wrong and getting all worked up over nothing, because they will consider your entry regardless of whether you bought the book or not. The whole reason for “No purchase necessary” type language is that if a purchase is required, the contest is legally deemed a lottery and comes under a new set of laws, including being taxed by the government (not to mention also becoming illegal in some jurisdictions). Thus most contests in the US have, in caps at the top of the official rules, “no purchase necessary.” It’s not a ploy, not a bribe, and not a scam.
