The house is not a part of anybodys project like the comment above..
A child was killed at that house and ghetto ppl put the stuffed animals on the house..
the Project the guy mentioned above is nice but at the same time it makes that whole block look crazy..

ya it does seem a bit creepy… it reminds me of a house in my town. some guy has like 30 stuffed animals hanging out of a dead tree in his yard. its like they’re replacing the leaves that dont grow and it creeps everyone out cuz its like hes trying to attract small children or something… i cant come up with any other reason why someone would ever do this cuz its weird!

This looks to me like the Heidelberg in Detroit… its not a fail at all. In fact, its an amazing and intriguing work of art, whose purpose is to turn garbage into art. This house isn’t representative of the rest of the project because, if I remember correctly, many of the animals were removed from it. If you go down the street that house is on, you’ll find some REALLY interesting things.

I’m from Metro-Detroit, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s creepy, it’s sometimes ugly, but it’s a masterpiece and the feeling you get there is indescribable! You have to just go and see it. It’s like you’re afraid, but enlightened at the same time. A Detroit treasure. People come from all over the world to see it.

The first time I drove past this, it was not creepy. It may seem like it in this photo, but Tyree Guyton’s house looks really bizarre in a cool way, not appalling. It’s smack dab in the middle of a run-down neighborhood and it is surrounded by other colorfully decorated houses and painted found objects.

The fact that this is submitted as a fail is terrible. The Heidelberg Projects serves as a really good source of tourism, along with discouraging crime in the neighborhood. Even if you don’t like the art in particular, it’s really important.

The pictured house is not a weird house decoration. This is the Heidelberg Project on the east side in Detroit, one of the art installations in the McDougall-Hunt neighborhood. The project started in 1986 as a political protest against deterioration of Detroit after the 1967 riots. If you happen to be in the city, I would strongly recommend visiting the site! It’s a remarkable place.
