Thank you for 2 years of the Cheezburger Network
Dear FAILers,
Last time I wrote a personal post, I think I made some of you teary-eyed so I don’t write many personal blog posts here, but I wanted to celebrate our remarkable 2-year anniversary with you.
In September of 2007, we launched the company with our first blog, I Can Has Cheezburger?, and at the onset of the worst economic crisis of our time, I quit my day job in order to run ICHC from my living room couch. Cheezburger Network, which FAIL Blog is a key part, is now one of the largest blog networks in the world. And we’ll soon celebrate the release of our first FAIL Blog book. Thanks to you, our users, we’ve grown to more than 20 sites and now reach more than 11 million people around the globe every month.
Today also marks another milestone for us. When we began, we didn’t know what we wanted to be when we grew up. We didn’t even know who we were. We’re far from grown up, but we know more about who we are and why we’re here. We want to enable you to share your sense of humor, share what you find funny with each other and the rest of the world. We want to make you happy for a few minutes each day. This is now the mission of the Cheezburger Network.
We’d like for you to know us better as a company and as a group of people working hard to make your life a little bit happier each day. And we promise to share with you our successes and *eh hem* fails.

Thanks so much for making us crack up every morning! With all the new sites coming out, can you add a second row of buttons of the “more lolz” above? It’s hard to keep up with all of the sites and I dont want to miss the new stuff!

Failure refers to the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. Criteria for failure
The criteria for failure are heavily dependent on context of use, and may be relative to a particular observer or belief system. A situation considered to be a failure by one might be considered a success by another, particularly in cases of direct competition or a zero-sum game. Similarly, the degree of success or failure in a situation may be differently viewed by distinct observers or participants, such that a situation that one considers to be a failure, another might consider to be a success, a qualified success or a neutral situation.
It may also be difficult or impossible to ascertain whether a situation meets criteria for failure or success due to ambiguous or ill-defined definition of those criteria. Finding useful and effective criteria, or heuristics, to judge the success or failure of a situation may itself be a significant task.

My kids and I log onto FAIL every morning. It’s a ritual. I don’t censor the content (they’re tweens) and sometimes THAT makes MY day. “What is that Mom?” “I think it’s French.” They laugh and are confused. Keep up the great work!

Your site, especially the Lolcats, helps me start every day with a smile. I appreciate all the hard work that must go on behind the scenes to make people’s days a little brighter. I check most of the sites every day, sometimes multiple times a day. It would be really nice to have links to all the sites added to the top of the page.
No, thank you. While lolcats have reached their sell-by date, FAIL never gets old, nor does the new Hawtness. Well, it’s not so much that lolcats are past their prime, it’s that the new submissions simply aren’t as funny. Still, FAIL blog and Hawtness. Woo.

As I’m often too busy visit regularly, I’ve valued being the Failblog poster who makes most of her witty comments after everyone has left already. I think I’ve been visiting FB for nearly two years myself, commenting here and there when I can. The blog just gets better and better. Thank YOU!
I do like your stated mission, btw. When I first started visiting, I was shocked at some of the gore you could see here… like people getting shot (bullet-dodge fail or something like that). I think the market for smiles is probably bigger than the market for grimaces and gross-outs. So good on you for your ongoing improvements and all the best in the future! ❤
