C.C. — as others have also pointed out, someone has used the equivalent of white out to alter this sign into a racist statement.
My using “It’s whitey out again” is simultaneously a pun on to draw attention to that fact and a note of disparagement against racially prejudicial jerks.
I’m primarily white, myself, with some Native blood; I have no qualms about using “whitey” as a moniker for persons who are bigoted against peoples of color.

Others voted for it on FailBlog.
FailBlog posts it for the world to “enjoy.”
Isn’t “No Food Or Eating” a fail, too? Anyway, we had enough fails which bring out the idiots. I’m boycotting this one from now on.
I’m sure it was ‘no food or drinks.’ How much sense would it make to say ‘no food or eating’?

apparently the sign implies that you can’t have food, or eat (non-edible items) beyond it. no eating seat cushions, people!
Carrying food and eating food are 2 different things; what its pointing out is that you cannot enter with food, nor are you allowed to consume food. However really it should read “no eating, or food”; as you could bring food in and not eat it; but I understand that if you have no food you cant eat.
It’s still a fail, however its pretty clear what they’re trying to say; don’t eat food here, and even if you’re not gonna eat it, don’t bring it in.
If anything this is a racist win for whoever altered the sign.

I thought it was pretty obvious, clearly not so much given the high starrage!
I noted it too, it’s clearly visible (if you look) that it was EATING, but parts of E were scratched off, same as a part of the G, which was turned into an O with a marker. So it’s a win?
(But I don’t think the one who altered it also upped the photo to Failblog. More like some random people made such an alteration as a joke, and somebody else found it thought it’s funny enough to upload.)

A latino is someone of a mixed Hispanic/Native American origin. Dispite what many say, latino is as much of a “race” as is half-white, half-Asian, or basically, its not really a race.
And a latte is a kind of coffee drink.

I don’t think the vote page has any real meaning. Fails appear to be just picked from what’s recent at the vote page. There are plenty of fails with >1000 votes that never get to the front page.

I thought it was really funny even though someone tampered with the sign so it is not really a fail. But then I only laugh at meaningless and absurd jokes.
