When I was sticking address labels on forms 9 years ago, I was amused to discover there is a street named Peckerwood Trace in Russell County, KY. I can’t help but think that was a deliberate act to mess with someone, when all the roads got named for the installation of enhanced 911.

actually the okinas are sometimes printed. i have a picture of the next intersection and the signs are. PeePee Falls and Pe’ePe’e Falls. So I don’t know why they decided one schould have okinas and one not. That’s my fav. sign in Hilo.

The sign in the picture is kinda dark, it hard to see what is written.

There was nothing wrong with my previous post, it was just a little non-offensive remark.

Next time I would suggest that you get the picture a little brigher or adjust color level so people can properly read.

actually, it’s not pronounced pay-ay pay-ay as someone said above, it’s Pe’e Pe’e, pronounced “Peh-eh Peh-eh”
It’s just that okinas, the glottal stops, are not printed on legal road signs. This always cracked my visitores up when i lived there!
