  1. NoWay says:

:) looks quite interesting to me

  2. Callum says:

    LOL!

  3. nogood says:

pretty damn cool if you ask me

  4. Fred says:

How the hell do you get a window built in like THAT and not notice it?

    • New_Guy says:

When it comes to fail, everything is possible.

    • Ono says:

You photoshop it. The only other explanation is that it was done on purpose to be quirky (not likely). Either way, not a fail, except on the part of the person who submitted it and the ones who voted for it.

      • Mae says:

not to be quirky but to allow for a window in what is likely either the laundry room on that floor or the maids room on that floor… right under a staircase.

    • -Wolf- says:

If you drank too much ’spirit’ from your spirit level..

      • DrB says:

Here, take this spare Brian…it has spiwit (I’m not sure that it’s straight, though).

        • Lurk ♀ now selling pictures of Brewski wearing a floral apron or mantyhose, and pics of Aiki and Bearly naked on the beach, and AE in a pink tutu and tiara says:

A spare Brian? Is that Brian Dennehy or Brian Boitano?

          • -Wolf- says:

Did you not know that there is a surplus of Brians.

You only have to look at the Brussels Brian Mountain.

  5. lulz says:

    lulzzz

  6. shawn says:

    Photoshop fail!

  7. Luuk says:

    whoop whoop

  8. aaron says:

i don’t think photo shopped pics should be included on Fail Blog.

    • cicili says:

      I agree. It’s nonsense.

    • Donnie says:

Normally I would agree that photoshopped stuff should stay off, but this is an example of what I would consider an exception.

It’s done really well. It’s obvious that it’s not real, but in this case, the person had talent- it doesn’t matter.
      Maybe if there were another blog out there, named something like awesomephotoshopblog.com, where cool photoshop projects could go, it would belong there;

In the meantime, it’s a photoshop win, not a construction fail.

      • coyote says:

Look in the window idiot. See the curtains. Please don’t give me that nonsense about shadows either.

        • wtf? says:

Speaking of idiots, why is it so difficult for you to understand that the curtains, window reflection and all, can be just as easily shopped as the window frame?

        • ammcneil says:

why is “that nonsense about shadows” ANY less valid then your point about the curtains.

i could do this myself, and i have only a novice amount of experience with PS

          • coyote says:

            a) It is not a shadow; the most common cry of the pro-photoshoppers; it is a reflection.

            b) Predicting the proper placement for a shadow can be damn near impossible. Painters know this.

            c) Because something can be done does not mean it was. That is for WTF.

            d) I challenge you to alter a photo to achieve this. “I could…” holds no water. Show me an I did.

I am probably overly sensitized to people yelling PHOTOSHOPPED every time something odd appears here. It is a vastly over used word. If you’ve been around here for very long you may know what I mean. I most likely wouldn’t believe that a photo of the Space Needle rocketing off was altered anymore.

      • Mae says:

Its not a photoshop you conspiracy theorist.

Its also not a construction fail, its a construction win of sorts to put a window in a room under a staircase.

  9. H3nQ says:

Looks like it is done on purpose.

But then again, what psychopath would do such a thing?

  10. alex says:

wow badly photo shopped, not even a good fake

  11. John Vorster says:

Photoshop huh? The curtains are hanging in the right way, so perhaps a smart Photoshopjob.

  12. DyDevil says:

Notice the shadow on the window.

  13. Izaak says:

it s not a fake i live across from a buildiing like that.
    Hmmm looks wierd on that

  14. mrobvious says:

Umm…could be on a stairwell. Just saying.

    • wtf? says:

Why would the stairwell just be on one floor? And how many times have you seen a window tilted to follow the slope of a stairwell? Interesting reasoning, mrobvious. Just saying.

  15. PsD says:

my girlfriend can do that. Wait, wrong blog

  16. sangrei says:

interesting…..i wonder if the room is like that too….like some weird fun house

  17. KatzVonD says:

There is a very heavy person sleeping on one side of that room.

  18. bluebirdy says:

wonder what the room looks like…

  19. fen says:

    2nd Best Western

  20. KatzVonD says:

POTATOSHOPPED! FRIST! FRIST! IT IS DEAD! BLAH!

Now that's done, where is everbody today?
  21. Aja says:

That window is used for a proof of Pythagoras’ theorem.

  22. nick b says:

the curtains are straight , so i don’t think the pic is photoshoped

  23. Nananananananana Batman! says:

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
Lois, this is not my batman glass!

  24. smilff says:

that looks like it is in Europe somewhere. Murrcan hotels dont look like that.

  25. Rozyx says:

    I think it’s intentional architecture =)

  26. Upfo says:

    did he died?

  27. MassX says:

Definitly photoshoped, look at the displaced pixels around the window.

  28. BAReFOOt says:

    Photoshop obviousness fail!

  29. Sqwirk says:

    1) Why would someoen bother to photshop this?

    2) The curtains are still hanging vertically in that window so it’s not just rotated even if it were photoshoped.

    3) I can imagine that an architect might add this as a ‘quirk’ to a building, somewhere for some reason.

    • ClariPossum says:

      1) Why would someoen bother to photshop this?
      –For attention?

      2) The curtains are still hanging vertically in that window so it’s not just rotated even if it were photoshoped.
–Good point. But then, they could have faked that part, too. ANYTHING can be done in photoshop. ;)

3)3) I can imagine that an architect might add this as a ‘quirk’ to a building, somewhere for some reason.
—Ehhh, I can see that, but not for a hotel. At the VERY least, not for a CHAIN hotel. But if a BW bought the building from someone else, it’s possible. I can guarantee it’s not being rented to guests, though. If it’s not photoshopped, it’s probably being used for a closet or something. :)

    • Mia says:

its the window of an efing attic thank you very much! the window is crooked because its at the bottom floor of the attic. The attic is two floors. The walls make a traiangle on the inside left corner of that room ( right when you look at it ). Thus why they could not make the window straight. If they did they would have to move it over towards the other window more because they cant make it square beacuse of the wall. I sw it myself. I took the picture. I dont even know how to or, have photoshop. Its in nurnberg, germany. and its real. google earth it if you want to.

  30. lorrington says:

    FRIST!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!111!1!

  31. ClariPossum says:

I’m not usually quick to jump on the “it’s photoshopped!!!” bandwagon, but considering this is a hotel… it wouldn’t be able to keep the brand with a window like that in an ACTUAL GUEST ROOM.

So… either they’re using it as a storage closet or it is indeed a fake.

  32. alex says:

it’s photoshoped. look at the SHADOW on the window. the same angles as the rest of the windows even tho it is tilted one side. photoshop 100%.

  33. endproductuser says:

    Very photoshopped.

  34. sexcellent says:

Free dissemination of advertisements on failblog = failing failblog.

  35. jam says:

Oh, blah blah blah… if it’s fake, so what?
Can we please STOP talking about the Fail now?
    *headdesk*

  36. Christopher Balcer says:

I am sorely disappointed. Best Western used to have a habit of Photoshopping their windows. It appears that they’ve gotten back into it.

  37. anon says:

Fake, you can see jpeg compression artifacts on the window that has been moved.

  38. zoid says:

It looks like the side of a “Ripply’s Believe it” or Not building. Were they try to make it look like it survived a earth quake.

    • Saint, Grand High Potentate of the 1st church of Fail. says:

possibly even a “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” building!

Coming August 2009, try new “Ripley’s Can’t Believe it’s not Butter!”

  39. ThaBlob says:

    Photoshop win

  40. Aja says:

    Just the artefacts, ma’am.

  41. udd says:

The people staying in that room, if they had a shit would it come out sideways?

  42. whatwhat says:

i think that the window is straight but the wall is tilted. :-? ?

  43. Ray Andrews says:

Photoshop experiment: Ignoring the crooked window, look at the second window on the top and bottom levels shown, they both have the same reflection or diagonal lines, that’s not gonna happen

  44. udd says:

Maybe that’s the only window the right way up and all the others are the wrong way.

  45. Sidhe Cat says:

Yiu didn’t HAVE to say it! ;)

  46. Brewski says:

Ths signal-to-noise ratio is getting dangerously low… it must be the weekend.
OK, I’m going to break my cardinal rule, and talk about the fail. This was obviously deliberate, but I can’t imagine what kind of architect would design a boring boxy hotel with one window skewed. I’d like to see the entire facade. I wonder if it would make more sense with a wide-angle lens.

  47. Brewski says:

Ths signal-to-noise ratio is getting dangerously low… it must be the weekend.

  48. 7LeagueBoots says:

That’s a bad job of photoshopping. Way too obvious. Photoshopped images definitely should not be allowed in the failblog.

  49. Arthur Eld says:

Ok, fellow Failbloggers, this guy made it for now. I’ll leave until he’s banned. I mean, having fans is nice, but he has really gone too far. I hope he didn’t insult anyone and if so – it wasn’t me. Bye!

(Beweis: Ich kann deutsch. Na gut, wenn der Kacksack auch ‘n Deutscher ist, isses kein Beweis.)

  50. Saint, Grand High Potentate of the 1st church of Fail. says:

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen Windows go all wonky….

  51. Cofnused. says:

How does this even work? How did it happen?~?

  52. As says:

eiter photoshopped or its so they can reach the sign easier

  53. 4ndr3w says:

Could this scream “photoshopped” any louder?

  54. J says:

That’s cute. Too bad it’s photoshopped.

  55. Demut says:

This looks shooped. I can tell from the pixels and I’ve seen some shoops before.

  56. pimp_juice says:

    I hate fake fails.

  57. Jessica says:

    totally photoshopped…not cool.

  58. Lurk ♀ says:

Alas, now it is time for me to run away.
I will come fail with you again on Monday.

  59. The Moomin says:

Gah! Microsoft done their usual job of releasing a wonky version of windows. I’m sure they’ll release a patch for it soon.

  60. Admiral Apparent says:

You Suck at Photoshop, now a classic: (some language and some thoughts expressed may not be for everyone)

  61. Lolman says:

    PHOTOSHOP FAIL -Lolman

  62. Nik says:

Did Somebody even thought about that they maybe wanted it to look like that?

    • ClariPossum says:

Yeah it was mentioned earlier. My response was that if it was on purpose, it wouldn’t have been the BW who built it that way (brand requirements and such). Nor would they use it as a guest room (but that’s not really relevant, since it’s obvious LoL).

    • Jean says:

      Thankyou!!!

If it’s real, I fail to see how it is a fail -a sit’s CLEARLY intentional.

      If it’s photoshopped -it’s not a fail.

      Jeepers

  63. I R SMRT says:

Look at the shadow in the upper part of the window. It was definitely photoshopped.

  64. MRDR says:

Just wondering, what are the little squares under the windows? And why does the window at the top right have 2 of them?

  65. ormewood says:

I know of a motel room in Mobile, Alabama that is deliberately built on a tilt, I assume so that it can be used for pranks on passed-out drunks or heavy sleepers by their friends. The window looks like this, although not on such an extreme tilt.

This photo is fake, though…if you download it and use any program where you can zoom in you can easily see the alterations.

  66. alpine says:

I guess the architect was going for an “abstract” style

  67. trent says:

    fake! check out the shadow

  68. Guyperson says:

Does this mean the whole room is tilted?

  69. Alice says:

You cannot grasp the true form of the Window’s attack!

  70. carbon says:

This hotel is Window’s Vista (c) compliant.

  71. coyote says:

Okay people here’s the truth: That window is plumb and all of the rest are photoshopped. All clear now?

  72. fink says:

    this has to be photoshopped

  73. Christine says:

Well, that must’ve been a cheap apartment room to rent. :D

  74. Radical Dreamer says:

It’s edited(photoshopped). Look at the widow, the shadow would be different if it was real…

  75. |-|/-\XX()R says:

    fake….

  76. Havoc says:

    i’d say creativity…

    …or photoshop

  77. FALCON4EVR says:

That is the ripley’s believe it or not museum. It’s suppose to look like a hotel. I have been there.

  78. T. says:

Actually this might be some sort of marketing ploy. That screwy window draws a lot of attention to the Best Western sign next to it.

  79. :D says:

    T. this could be but i dont doubt it could be photoshopped. i doubt though that its real and not a marketing ploy though. and falcon why would there be a best western sign next to it? im not being sarcastic just curious.

  80. smilff says:

If you have Firefox, right click the picture, select “view picture”. From there use CTRL ++ to zoom in as much as possible. There you will definitely see that it is a counterfeit.

It would be kind of neat if a building was really done this way, but this isn’t real.

  81. Nichita says:

:O I noticed though that the curtains do go the same way as the window they still move Up-down with the line in em… while if photoshoped and

  82. Nichita says:

WHOOPS accidently pressed add comment, I meant to say if photoshopped it would be going same direction

  83. Oswald says:

The poster has repeatedly told you what hotel this is– Best Western Hotel Neurnberg. Find it on Best Western’s website and see the real hotel yourself, complete with crooked window.

Not Photoshopped– research trumps analysis on this one.

    • TheDeathBunnie says:

Actually, take a closer look. The shadow up top should be at a slant, not straight across. The shadow is clearly from the top row of windows. The vertical curtains are from the middle window on the top row, every fold is exactly the same.

And yeah, I did look up the Best Western in Neurnberg. It doesn’t even LOOK like this one: it’s lighter in color and all the rooms have balconies.

      • FailBlog Visitor says:

Not photoshopped people. There are two Best Westerns in Nuernberg.
The one with the crooked window is at this address:
        Allersberger Strasse 34
        Nuernberg, 90461, DE

You can verify it on the Best Western website. I would post a link, but every time I try to include it my comment doesn’t get posted.

  84. Motivator says:

    Mah brutha, ees spessual.

  85. Prolox says:

If that window wasent photoshoped…. WIN!

  86. Erwin says:

haha this is epic fail!!! because he forget to PHOTOSHOP the shadow in the window itself XD

  87. Rob Williams says:

Not photoshopped. Here’s the link straight from the Best Western website! I doubt the hotel would photoshop its own window like that!

  88. -Redsands- says:

Yep, epic Fail on the photoshop front, the shadow gives it away..

  89. Crackertoa says:

They got some Lazy ass carpenters over there

  90. Smotherfate says:

    photoshopp’d!

  91. FailBlog Visitor says:

Again, this is not photoshopped. You can verify it on the Best Western website. BTW, there are two Best Westerns in Nuernberg.
The one with the crooked window is at this address:
    Allersberger Strasse 34
    Nuernberg, 90461, DE

(I would post a link, but every time I try to include it my comment doesn’t get posted.)

    • Bane says:

      He’s right you know.

Search for – Allersberger Strasse 34 Nuremberg, 90461, DE.

It comes up. A lot more yellow in their pictures, but alterante angles, all with the crooked window.

      Fail is legitimate.

  92. Dragoncry says:

Even if it is not a photoshop fail, it IS a design fail. They should have fired the person that suggested they put in a window like that, whether there looked to be a good reason or not. Any high school drafting teacher would tell you that’s a bad idea.

  93. steve says:

FAKE PHOTO!! TAKE IT OFF MAN

  94. janne says:

    just like mentioned before:
It’s Nuremberg, Germany, allersbergerstrasse … I passed that window twice a da for two years, it’s been real all the time and it’ll be real, still, the netxt time I’ll pass there

  95. sumone says:

yay,1 we found stephen hawkings house!

  96. Patrick says:

how… how did they manage that? That must have been deliberate, there is no way that could happen by simple fail. Right? Is there? Just… how?

  97. Bob says:

Dozens upon dozens of people on here commentings their “rock-solid” criteria that this was “definately photoshopped”. But I have looked up pix on this hotel in two different places and seen this window at a slant. IT IS REAL! It is really funny how people think they can prove something is ’shopped when it was not.

    • Stan says:

The picture pretty much pins the bogosity meter for me, as it does for a lot of people. If it’s real — not just dupes of this picture elsewhere but really in bricks and mortar — then what’s the address?

  98. Stan says:

Oops — a fail of my own. I skipped to the end and missed comments in the middle giving the address.

I wonder why they created a window like that?

  99. smilff says:

Yes, it’s real. European architects often throw in little surprises. It would be nice to know who the designer of that building was.

  100. Jason says:

Guess they’ll have to change their name to Decent Western.

  101. sumguy says:

The shadow looks off… It is probably photoshopped… besides how would that even happen (someone would’ve had to noticed before it became a finished project)

  102. Unless the person who photoshopped this also took the time and trouble to hack the Best Western web site and photoshop it there too, this is real – surf over and look for yourselves. Let this be a lesson to all you know-it-alls who think everything on this site is photoshopped. You’re wrong most of the time.

  103. chris says:

no hacking was necessary sanity. you have to be a moron to think that’s real. the shadows dont match up. it was probably an upset web person at best western. come on sanityinjection, think before you post next time.

    • Chris, the same window can be seen in photos of this hotel on multiple websites including Hotels.com and other booking sites. Which is more believable, that all sites were hacked, that shopped photos were sent to all sites and Best Western some how didn’t notice, or that certain people think they are a lot smarter than they really are? Seriously, there is a whole world out there beyond one photo posted on FailBlog; the sooner you start exploring it, the less of a nerd you’ll be.

    • Andrea says:

      It’s not a shadow, it’s a reflection.

Glass does that, at least in the states. I don’t know what glass in Europe does.

  104. Carlitos says:

photoshopped pretty sure,..,. look at the shadow into the window, it’s straight.

  105. NOT photoshopped says:

Nowadays people think every little strange thing is photoshopped..

  106. Andrea says:

    Best photoshop evar.

They even thought to do water mark from where rain would trickle down from the sill. It’s going in the right direction, too, same as the curtains.

    owait.

    /sarcasm

  107. Mr. Man says:

    Surrealist Architecture WIN

  108. Aziza Sa'id says:

The hubby’s a general contractor… he says deliberate architecture designed as an eye catcher to make you LOOK at the sign. right next to the window. and the room inside is normal, not angle-ceiling.

  109. The Walrus 324 says:

    HOORAY FOR PHOTOSHOP!!!

  110. Dietz says:

i didn’t believe this at first, but i checked it out, and if you google it, you can find pictures from all sorts of angles. from sites such as hotels.com. i doubt they would use a PS picture in the ads. thats just me though…

  111. cowilt says:

I love how everyone is argueing about this instead of taking all three seconds to google it.

    it’s a real hotel.

    the window is really crooked.

    get over it.

  112. Random user says:

I’m pretty sure that was made on purpose.

  113. Stupid Man says:

It amazes me that people are happy to waste time arguing that this is photoshopped rather than just going to google images to see if there are any other photos of the window in question.

    Not fake. Next?

  114. otto says:

What a bunch of slow people here. If you read any of the comments, you’ll discover that this is a Best Western in Nuremberg, Germany. Just google image search Best Western Nuremberg and you’ll get images of it.

  115. bogie says:

Campers, you’re missing something – Everything but teh window is photochopped…

Seriously, it’s a real place – Just do a freakin’ google for best western nuremberg or whatever, and it’s one of their hotels in the city. The window is visible in at least one of them, and is definitely twisted… I think it’s kinda cool…

  116. PHAILE says:

    That’s tight!

I want to stay in that room!

  117. ShadowTheSniper says:

Never let a drunk guy make a window of a building.

  118. Amanda says:

“Just leave it, man. No one will notice, and they can just cover it with draperies from the inside.”

  119. Paul says:

    Funny, but 100% photoshop.

  120. Paul says:

I totally failed, sorry. It appears this is an actual building, built like that. I stand corrected.

  121. Kitty says:

I have actually stayed in that room with the wonky window. Yes, I am not lying, that Best Western is in Nuremberg, Germany, in Allersbergerstrasse to be specific. It was very weird to have that window in the room.

  122. Nemesis says:

It’s real LOL go to : http://www.hotel-nuernberg.bestwestern.de/ and click on the picture to show the little gallery with the “special” window lol

  123. WZ3F says:

    Change this to WIN.
    A very clever design.

  124. booger11 says:

this is photoshop. look at the shadow at the top of the window.

  125. i know a friend who stayed there once.

  126. pandakicker says:

omg thts totaly photoshoped u can just telll

  127. sam says:

if one thing is sure is that it aint have been photoshopped; look at the freaking curtain idiots there going down the floor so if he would just have took the window and turned it aroune the curtain would have followed –’

  128. Nightman says:

hahaha… i used to work there in the nightshift… i assure everybody who thinks this is photoshopped, that this is real.
the hotel is located on Allersberger Strasse behind the main train station in Nuremberg, Germany

  129. picka says:

    Photosop win!!!!!!!!!

  130. ww1flyingace says:

I didnt think it was real.

But if use the “Birds Eye” view on Bing.com map. You can see the side of the building.

    True Failure
