I know, Dragonwriter, but it really gets up my nostrils when they keep repeating the same thing like robots.
There is a feeling of importance that can be derived from others viewing you as ‘sensitive.’ Those that are caretrolls do it for this feeling. I then would tell those people to go jump into a lake.

The difference is that if they participated, they would be privy to the jokes as well. If they don’t care enough to learn about it then don’t comment. With that said, I agree that there is a certain amount of leeway to give to these people who are (in the benefit of doubt) are just trying to follow their moral scruples.
I don’t really mind when they complain about us, it’s just when they accuse the fail of something it isn’t that annoys me. But hey, what can I do about it other than rant and depress everyone.

“OMG” — to me it looks like not just the balloones, but the entire figure was photoshopped in, since the water level on the body/dummy is quite different than that on the bridge. Also, the balloons appear to have been copied, since the ones in the reflection have lost air, but not the ones attached to the body/dummy.

I completely agree with fpage77. Honestly, this looks like a photo from Katrina or the North Dakota floods. And yes, bodies do float high out of the water when they are bloated and they remain facedown. I don’t know if this person is alive or dead but judging from the photo he looks deceased and this photo should be removed immediately.
Of course, because most victims of Katrina or from the floods had balloons tied to their backs.

I know you didn’t intend to hurt anyone,but just so you know,ANYTHING available was used after Katrina to mark the location of bodies in the hopes of recovery–this pic with it’s caption at first glance made me laugh,until it hit me how familiar the scene is.The pilings and the green reflected on the water look like so many places at home…so even if this was staged,it brings up terrible memories of something that really happened here.

Reminds me of a scene from Stephen King’s “It” (book, not movie) when some jocks pushed a gay guy from a bridge and he died. When the police came to investigate the murder they thought that they saw a clown with balloons in the shadows under the bridge.

That was the first book of Mr. King’s that I had to force myself to finish…and I wouldn’t take a shower unless someone else was home for about a month…I made them come check the drains first.

This picture is from an art project done by Mark Jenkins. The art project is called “Street Installations”. Mark made that person in the water entirely using 3M packaging tape, and then dressed it in regular closed. Credit should go to the original photographer, Mark Jenkins.

This pic with it’s caption would be funny,unless you’re from New Orleans.In the aftermath of Katrina,bodies were marked with anything handy so they would hopefully be recovered,and the pilings and water here look exactly like a certain spot in N.O.Although I’m sure that if this pic was staged for comedy and not an actual Katrina photo,it was not intended to make anyone uncomfortable,it certainly does have that effect on those of us who may have witnessed this all-too-real scene and are still struggling with Katrina’s devastation and loss.
