It’s called Tofulator. We’re gathering a collection of YouTube videos that have been captioned for lulz.
We’ve also built our own video captioner. So you can put captions on any YouTube video and make hilarity ensue. You getting this, Camera Guy?

Exactly. I can’t stand that pause for, “something funny happens in 3…2…1.” It sucks all the funny out.

Sadly, I think you’re in for some disappointment. There are always people who do that.
I know. I am just hoping that it isn’t excessive. I think that sometimes the extra stuff enhances it, but if the poster isn’t funny, it will drag the video down too. But I guess that is they way of it, and I am determined not to let those that misuse this new system (which BTW sounds good… from a fellow programmer – keep up the hard work) ruin the fun of the videos.
THe fastest way to prevent fun from being derived from comments is for the top guy to type “FIRST! HAHA LOL! I IS AT TOP OF PAGE d00d 1337!”
More annoying and fun killing are the comments complaining about how they don’t like what FailBlog is doing. Be it captions, picking images, whatever.
I don’t agree. A funny fail is a funny fail. if its ruined with 3..2..1.. countdowns and unfunny commentary, its no longer funny. Comments complaining about something ruining something that would otherwise be funny isn’t at all more annoying or fun killing.
Comment fails are exponential fun though…..

You can add notes to Youtube videos when you post them. I’m sure you’ve seen it by now. I haven’t cared enough to check if you can add them to other people’s vids. (If it were me, I’d sure as heck turn that feature off though.)

I also agree, the countdowns are just annoying and distract from the video. The intros are not that wonderful either…
I think most of the captioning is really annoying. Usually captions end up being more of a distraction to the lulz in the video than anything else.
‘Specially when the guy making the caption is 10 years old and makes the caption as big as the screen.
I really enjoy the current music overlayed so it drowns out that from the video.

Stop whining about the intro/countdown
Personally i think the new intro is great! Its not a tacky mess made in movie maker, its short and doesn’t effect the video at all.
The 3, 2, 1 thing doesn’t ruin “the spontaneous hilarity” as one guy said. The countdown comes AFTER the video is played. Intro > full playback of fail with no captions > countdown to highlight the fail > credit to uploader
One guy moans about it and everyone just jumps on the “Oh the intro sucks wah wah” bandwagon. Just enjoy the fail!

No, NicoVideo did this ages ago. But since it’s only available in Japanese, Chinese, German, and Spanish, I guess this is all English-speakers have.
