The funny part is, that in the town of Lake City FL, where this restaurant really is located, they were planning to open a new location. And the sign in the window did say: “Coming Soon, Another Fu King Chinese Restaurant”.

I was wondering if this was the same restaurant as the one in Lake City. I’ve been to Lake City over a dozen times (right where I-10 meets I-75) but I’ve never eaten there.

Here is a bit of information for those of you who are interested.
Fu King Chinese Restaurant is located in Lake City, FL and was opened before most of you were born. The year was 1982. Yes, it is located in a converted gas station.
Fu King (according to the owner) means “prosperity”.
She was quite surprised when people first started taking photos of her sign.
She told me she used to ask people: “Why you take picture? My sign ugly. You no find better sign?”
Incidently, their food is excellent.
