The sign was meant to be read by people who are walking by it at an angle, not standing right in front of it.

if you were facing the way the arrow was pointing,
you would want to be walking right.

i suppose there wasnt another pole to nail the sign to, thats all.

Less of a sign fail, more of a lack of post fail.

I see this sign many times a week when commuting to work. It really is like that, no mirrors involved! What it’s really directing you to do is keep to the right of a barrier (you can see it a little in the picture), which happens to be to the left. The effect is still amusing.

Anyone know which station this is? I think it was word edited, because this kind of sign doesn’t usually appear in the subway, those type of signs are over head, not on poles. The pole signs are the ones that say the station or other info. Directional stuff is above so EVERYONE can see it.
