Well at first blush I though…well there is efficiency for you. I mean if the life saving doesn’t work out, at least they don’t have to go far to deal with the bodies.

But I’m more inclined to believe the person that said “Lifesaving services” is actually an old name for the cost guard.

Before 1915, the US Coast Guard was called “The US Lifesaving Service.” This is a historic cemetery where the remains of 11 officers of that service are buried.

This is a sign for Point Reyes Life saving station and “G” ranch cemetery. Seems this is a cemetery where officers of the former US Lifesaving service at Point Reyes are buried. Sorry if I killed the funny here.
