The fact that “cities” are this stupid is what makes this so funny and believable.
It’s a flag pole, you can see the rope going down the side of the pole. and there is plenty room on either side of the driveway to drive a car. unobservant FAIL.

haha actually the home owners were pwned. she complained that she didn’t want the pole in front of her picture window and made such an annoyance of herself that they put it there.

Well, it’s been there for over a year now - although in the last couple of days the electricity company has been seen hanging around it, so there’s a chance they’re actually thinking of attempting to move the pole. Oh, I hope not

My parent’s home town in Puerto rico had a telephone pole in the middle of the street. They just removed it this year. (3 years after a plaza was designed near it)

Is it *painted* that colour? I thought it was just those blue tarpaulins they sometimes put around buildings while they’re still under construction.

Sad to say this happens a lot. Especially in trendy areas. They build a house, garage, whatever & then demand the utilities to move their pre-existing equipment gratis. Too egotistical to just look at the space before designing the pile o’trash.

It does happen a lot, but not just trendy areas with new houses. I’ve lived in communities where they’ve had to upgrade the grid, move poles, etc. The houses are there already and be damned if you happen to have a driveway that falls within the spacing of the poles.

Google Maps street view was launched in Australia in the last week and you can see on here that it is clearly an electricity pole in the middle of the driveway. The address is 413 Farm St, Rockhampton, Queensland Australia.

I remember seeing this in our local newspaper at least a few years ago. I’m pretty sure it’s in Australia here, and there was some wankery going on between the builder, and the owners, as the builder (obviously) failed at reading the plans, and this was the result.
Definitely not a photoshoppy, coz, dude, it was in the newspaper - in print. It must be trufax.
