I expect his hands might have gone up as a natural reaction to there being a sign there and his brain’s first thought is to protect itself. Like sticking your arms out when you fall over - lots of broken wrists.

reminds me of what i did in Switzerland
(Switzerland is cyclist hell - the hills are too steep to cycle up without slowly coming to a stop and rolling backwards and the are equaly as steep on the way down so you go so fast you inevitably crash when you reach the bottm)

yea… not only was someone conveniently there to film but if you look in the lower corner… there are SEVERAL people conveniently there to film… and he didn’t freak out or try to stop… it almost looks like he aimed for the sign… 0 thumbs. Actually it looks like some kind badly set up Jack-Ass clip…
ok… lets drag YOU along on a bike that fast and see how much control you have over off-road terrain… when you’ve only got about 25 feet between you and the sign. I agree that it DOES look a bit staged, but remember that if it’s unlikely, it’s still possible.
i think they’re filming because if you look closely, the guy is holding on to the other guy that’s on the motorcycle so he’s going fast. i don’t think they were expecting him to crash into the sign
He was there to record the guy being pulled behind that motorbike…at least this is how it seems to me.
