No, I don’t feel shitty because it’s still the establishments fault. You can’t handle the load then you need to notify the customers of the situation and call in some extra people. It’s the establishments job to HANDLE the situation, not make customers suffer because of poor planning.

actually, in a way, this overreactive tirade makes a little sense. a couple douchebags could end up costing more than they’re worth if other customers are getting pissed off at them and then associating that experience with the restaurant. actually, then itd make more sense to just kick them out. whatever, this probably isnt even what happened. awesome fail.

I went to Black angus on mothers day and they served us within 15 minutes. I went to Red robin on Fathers day, they served us within 15 minutes. On easter I went to a local restaurant, they served us within 15 minutes also. 30 minutes is a long time to wait. Especially if you are hungry. I also assume that they waited 30 minutes and no-one came to even ask if they wanted drinks, that happened to me once in Yellowstone. If they got drinks and just left after ordering that is stupid… Although, I would’ve just left a note. Making a message with catsup and mustard is not nice.

Even though I expect good service at a restaurant (after all, I can eat cheaper, better food at home, right?), I think it’s horrid to leave this kind of mess behind. The server may or may not deserve it–we don’t know if he or she was on the phone or smoking a cigarette and being negligent, or if maybe he or she cut his or her finger off and had to be rushed to the hospital, leaving the place in chaos and the staff frazzled and short-handed–but you can be reasonably sure that if it were a case of negligence, your crappy server wouldn’t be the one cleaning up the mess. He or she would complain until someone else did it just to get a little peace and quiet; your little note would screw over some innocent server or busboy.
