the problem with labeling this a fail is that it wasn’t OBVIOUS that this shouldn’t happen… i mean… sure it’s a mistake and it sucks for the person who made it, but it’s not like the vaulter was extremely retarded and that’s why it happened. That’s what a true failpic is for me, it’s very similar to a non-fatal darwin award…
How is it not obvious that a guy should not get hit in the nads with a pole? That is total fail. Alex would have understood.

Precisely. The Darwin Award is given to those who remove themselves from the genepool in an extraordinarily stupid manner - with other qualifications. Check the site or books for those. Granted, one of the best ways to DO this is to kill oneself… but sterilization works fine too.
In any case, this is not Darwin material. 1) He may still be fertile. 2) This was unfortunate happenstance, not something his stupidity caused directly.

It doesn’t usually happen all that often because when you’re going over the bar, you’re supposed to push your pole away, that way the pole doesn’t knock the bar down… or in this guys case, you don’t land on it…
