» 108 Failures in Communication

  1. THEbear says:

    FIRST!!! FIRST!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!

    Switzerland is FIRST!!!

  2. Anonymous says:

    first

  3. 999 says:

omg FAIL to all of you sad little people.

  4. Vismund says:

Not so funny – just my opinion.

  5. TG says:

Would have been first but the damn door would not open!!!

  6. Nick says:

Although this looks a little strange I don’t think it’s a fail. It looks like a door that is only meant for entering the building and the picture was taken from the inside of the building. What the “Enter Only” sign means is that it is not an exit from the building, but an entrance. Still, it is a funny/bad choice of wording.

    • wood says:

does a bad choice of wording not constitute a fail?

    • Art Vandalay says:

      Good point. Logic WIN!

But yes, a terrible choice of words. Maybe “Use Other Door” or something would have been more appropriate.

    • MyMalady says:

oh such a party pooper. i for one think that it is funny no matter which angle it is taken from.. maybe if it is flipped upside down it woud be even more hilarious

    • Bill says:

No, it can’t be an entry taken from the wrong side, otherwise it would be a reverse image, like “ylno retnE”

      • Art Vandalay says:

I think he means that the sign is properly oriented towards people inside the building, informing them not to enter the door because it’s intended only for those entering the building, not those entering.

Therefore, the door would be for entry and not exit and the major problem is the fact that they refer to passing through the door from inside to outside as “Entry.”

        • Art Vandalay says:

Wow, explanation fail…let me try that again…

I think he means that the sign is properly oriented towards people inside the building, informing them not to enter the door because it’s intended only for those entering the building, not those EXITING.

Therefore, the door would be for entry and not exit and the major problem is the fact that they refer to passing through the door from inside to outside as “Entry.”

          • Dynamo says:

Wow man, you just blew my mind.

          • AdamG says:

Vandalay, you should know, since you’re an architect!

          • Corwin_the_Physicist says:

“Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.”
            –Westley (‘The Princess Bride’)

          • Mourner says:

the fact remains that you can clearly read two separate signs, one saying that you CANNOT enter this way, and the other stating that you CAN ONLY enter this way.

They could just have placed a sign “no exit”

besides that, this does not have to be an exterior door, (although the lightsource would indicate so)

another possiblilty would be that this is the inner door of a type of “airgate”, to prevent draft (inner door doesn’t open till outer door is closed), but why you should only be allowed to enter it from one direction ????

either way, it’s a fail for placing two contradicting signs.

    • Kurt says:

You are correct in that it is taken from indoors, based on two things, the wall on the other side of the door is an exterior type wall, and also I saw this exact same thing in a local Target store. I’m just wondering if this pick was taken at a Target too.

      • Chuck S says:

        >>I’m just wondering if this pick was taken at a Target too.<<

Yep, it was…I walked past and the contradiction just caught my eye. While the intent was obvious with any thought at all, the signs created a logical conundrum that would be difficult to resolve for a (sadly) growing slice of the general population that did learn to read, but never learned to think…

        C

        • Kurt says:

I took the same pic on my cel phone. Would have posted it but it didn’t turn out that well. Planned on going back and retaking it where it was a bit clearer, but SOMEONE went and screwed up that plan =-p

          • greggy says:

i did too, in a local target! target is run by silly people. management fail! i almost posted the picture but saw this one before I did. doublepost fail AVERTED!

  7. Corto says:

you should enter because if you have a Gun you can do it and everything.

  8. dahcheet says:

This has to be at a Target. They always had these signs so people would exit through the exit and not through the entrance. Poor wording.

    Fail.

  9. Anonymous says:

This door is not to be used as an entrance or an exit.

  10. DW says:

    I’m so confused….

  11. illi says:

    FIIIIIIIIRST !!!!!!1111111111

  12. Sorsha says:

You just know there is some guy just to the side of that door running in circles muttering to himself. “SoLost!SoLost!SoLost!SoLost!”

  13. not telling you my name!! says:

this is from Target… it confused me too…and when I saw it my friend started laughing and saying FAIL…lolz good job poster!

  14. AdamG says:

It’s Huxley’s door. It’s the door of perception.

  15. pert says:

This one reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

  16. Christine says:

    -confusion- in my native tongue

but if its an automatic door that’ll open for you, i’d still be walking through it

    • mark says:

obviously it will only have a sensor to open it if you come from outside. you really are a massive FAIL

  17. Anonymous says:

This picture definitely looks photoshopped to me!

    • Shop Safe says:

I am sure this is photoshopped.

      • Keelhaul says:

Good eye!!!Totally!!! We should meet up somewhere and do some photoshopping…..Like, you riding a bicycle on a half-pipe….on top of a really tall building…with eyes full of broken glass….and we’ll photoshop me out of the picture when I push you off the bike…and you run away crying right off the edge. Cool!!!

  18. Anji says:

    confusion win!

  19. Agnus says:

    It’s not photoshopped , It’s gimpped, can’t you see?

  20. Agnus says:

    hey!! first!!!!!! July 1st!!!!!!

  21. Anonymous says:

    photoshopped. no question about it.

  22. ed says:

If it’s an automatic door, why is there a bar/handle thing on it?

  23. oreo says:

    or contradiction win?

  24. anonyman says:

    first

  25. erica says:

not photoshopped! i took and submitted an identical photo from a target in KC. guess his pic was better/first. and the sensor does work from the inside, that’s why it’s at a slight angle, so the door doesn’t open (cuz my pic is at the same angle ^_^ )

  26. deepa says:

Is that like going in the out door……………… And very confused.

  27. qualityrat says:

this is not photoshopped. it is from target. I’ve seen it on the target in Mt. pleasant, SC. always thought it was a dumb choice of words. It is for the wrong side (inside) of the entrance door and shopping cart door.

  28. Anonymous says:

Which sign should I choose to ignore…

  29. nightbug08 says:

And THIS is the only door in the entire building

  30. im always first!!! says:

    first

  31. el70229 says:

this is stupid. it was taken from the inside of the building. it makes sense.

  32. attorneys says:

i wonder who put these stickers on the door?
