  8. Zaretul says:

    You all fail.

  9. Ray C. says:

The point of a fire lane is to have a zone free of vehicles and other obstructions so the fire trucks can reach the building. Booting a vehicle in a fire zone defeats the purpose of the fire zone. FAIL!

  10. lowly grunt says:

    Law enforcement win.
    Parking fail.

  11. Kryzystof O. says:

    fotoshjoppe fale

  12. It’s Louisiana. What’d you expect?

  13. EArch says:

but seriously, who boots a police car???

  14. EgoTrip says:

    FIRST!

    Oh wait… I’m 20th…

    FAIL!

  15. The Dude says:

This picture seems to have been taken in a city, so assuming the city has its own police deparment, state police has no jurisdiction…well that’s the only logic I could think of.

    • D says:

Legal knowledge fail! The State Police have jurisdiction anywhere in the state. They’re not primary responders in many areas, but they have full enforcement power should they choose to exercise it.

Based on several reason already pointed out, this was clearly done as either a demonstration or joke.

  16. A Former Louisiana Resident... says:

That’s parked in from of the State Capital building in Baton Rouge, LA, it looks like.

    Sad.

    • gman says:

k that was soo not at the capitol you cant ark that close to the capitol in BR

      • Louisiana Resident says:

It looks like it was taken at State Police HQ in Baton Rouge, not at the capitol. Either there, or the courthouse downtown. Either one means it was more than likely a prank by another officer!

  17. Vaux says:

I’ve seen booted vehicles before, but I’ve never seen one with more than one boot. What’s up with that? Cop co-worker prank?

    • adrenalnjunky says:

These clamp style boots are much smaller than the ones that cover up the whole face of the wheel. If they booted just one tire, you could always remove the wheel and slap your spare tire on. Most people don’t have 2 spares :-)

  18. Anonymous says:

Isn’t that a double fail? To boot a police car by putting two immobilizers on its wheels??

  19. Steve la Roche says:

    it´s fake, definately

  20. Juice says:

Can’t speak of other jurisdictions, but illegally parked police vehicles do get tickets in Atlanta. Now, booting is something new since boot operators are usually private companies (at least around here) who work on behest of (usually) private lots.

I don’t know how similar the laws are between GA and LA (probably not very since LA has those freaky Napoleonic Codes?), but I think this is more than likely a joke rather than genuine.

  21. Does the outline of the state need to be on the car twice? Like we don’t already know just by parking in the fire lane the guy’s from the South? Click on my name link to check out my CARTOONS.

  22. foofiter says:

This is most certainly fake. Any car parked in a fire lane is TOWED not booted. That is why its a fire LANE and not fire PARKING… It must be kept clear for emergency vehicles to pass when needed.

Still funny though. A friend of mine carries a fake boot in his car to save money and time.

  23. John says:

Multiple boots, it’s either a joke or trying to make a point by making an example.

  24. Anonymous says:

    P.H.O.T.O.S.H.O.P.

  25. Do not mess with Traffic wardens, they are equal opportunity scumbags.

  26. Anonymous says:

Actually I know someone who booted a cop car before. The cops were off duty and ignoring a clearly posted private parking lot. They then ignored a perfectly legal request by the private property owner to remove their vehicle, so they got booted. It was hilarious to watch them try and figure out what to do when they called dispatch. They finally apologized and got unbooted.

    • Hamjudo says:

When I lived in Hoboken, I read about a firetruck being ticketed for parking by a hydrant while they were responding to a fire. No, they didn’t have to pay the ticket. Ticket people and boot people are roughly the same caliber.

  27. artslover says:

hohohoho..low enforcment vs low enforcement = fail

  28. edziardo says:

    it’s so ironic!

  29. Panu says:

Actually, I’m from New Orleans, where this photo was taken. It is real, and has also appeared in our papers. Apparently, all sorts of emergency vehicles were being used to deliver things to the courthouse, so they could park without trouble. The local news filmed the scene as one after the other police vehicle came and went. As a result, the law enforcement in the building booted the cars to make a point, and for the news cameras.

  30. TrueLogic says:

The only true fail I have seen, has been repeated. Being “FIRST” only matters if you have something worth hearing to say…

  31. John thomas says:

  32. Jeremiah says:

    • smt says:

The lights on this cop car are NOT on. Therefore using your own statement they CAN’T park wherever they want.

  45. BOOBEHS says:
