first?
yes, you are so awesome!
no he is not! (btw I know that it was irony)
Sarcasm.
Yep, i think so
stupid
they coulda cut out the last part
Building: Win!
Grammar fail. It was SARCASM, not irony
Grammar policing fail. Irony is when the literal meaning is the opposite of the actual meaning (as in “you are so awesome.”). It was also sarcasm, which is the use of a sharp and often ironic remark intended to insult.
haha
sarcasm fail
irony fail
Trolling fail
Dude, it was sarcasm.
no it’s not -.-
Yes it is.
Who really cares whether they mistook sarcasm for irony? Does it matter? I’m finding everyone in these comments sections to be very rude. Everybody’s so quick to type “FAIL!” at people…
LOL at the concept of typing at people.
Wow jeez who would have thought on a site called FAILBLOG that
people would say fail? Shocking!
It’s not the idea of people pointing out others mistakes, but the ridiculous amount of people who yell “Fail” at the drop of a hat, whether or not a fail is really present. I can only imagine the number of people who will have to resist the temptation to write “Run on sentence fail” after my comment just because they want to be able to call a fail.
sarcasm uses irony to achieve its effect.

Multiple Grammar Fails
But it was sarcasm.
Comeback win.
“first?”
What’s the average age of people on this site? 12?
6.
I always thought it was 8…
lets make average –
12 + 6 + 8 = 27
27\3 = 9
(Self math Fail!)
Bubba is a stupid head
People still frist post?
Uhh no, they FIRST post. Typing fail.
Don’t worry about the insults…it IS cool and fun to be first…there guys haven’t been around the fail blog long enough to realise this
Absolutely a “coolness definition fail”.
YES! First comment.
Great work. I would have crashed the building in minutes.
first Fail.
Last
last fail
lol.. Who will ever go into that again, to place more explosives?
This was actually done near where I live I believe. Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They ended up having to just demolish it the “old fashioned” way if I remember right. Stupid sturdy buildings.
the guy talking reminds me of earl on my name is earl
Actually it looks like the charges did not fire as expected.
Looks more like when you clear a line in Tetris.
Hahahahahaha!
This has been by far the best comment I’ve read on this site. You rock!!
Simile epic win!
The father of the kid from the kicking fail set the charges. Unfortunately he was still on the first floor at the time the charges went off and he got his leg stuck too.
No, stupid is the guy who did not figure out it was sturdy and did not place enough tnt.
They probably didn’t use pure TNT. Considering how strong the rest of the building is, and how it does not crush the lower corner, it is probably steel/iron framed, so they would have used shaped charges for the supports.
Actually, you’re right. This is the Zip Feed Mill.
Basically: Some out of towners decided it needed to be blown up. This things 100 years old, and they expected it to be a lot weaker, since they didn’t bother to think that it was a FEED MILL and built to withstand being filled to the top with grain.
So yeah. There was a big fuss about it, everyone was watching, and…one floor went down. Heads were rolling. I lol’d.
And no, explosives were working as intended.
Especially since they made such a big deal about it beforehand. News coverage, and didn’t they have a drawing for who got to push the button to detonate it? That part is even funnier than simply the fail.
Set back the Phillips Avenue project a ways as well, if I recall right, due to having to drop it with the wrecking ball.
Personally, I was hoping to see a laser guided bomb dropped down the center of the building to knock it down
Explosives fail.
Stop… playing… mercenaries…
Unoriginality FAIL
Rofl, priceless
hehe. the builders built it slightly too strong huh?
ahh to be so amused by loud bangs…i remember those days….i miss them… oh and i just LOVE the big yellow “BOOM!” sign.. i didnt know they really DID that to places they were demolishing
I would so NOT go in there! I cracked up at the BOOM sign as well. Then laughed even harder when the BOOM failed.
Um…that should say I would so not go *back* in there to ‘fix’ the charges. That was also supposed to go to an above comment.
stupid fingers fail!
Yeah, I was thinking if the banner said “BOOM! Crash, rattle, timber! THUD!”, this might have gone better….
How ’bout “Mission Accomplished”?
Bush fail
The “Mission Accomplished” banner was at the “End of Recession” party.
The voices on the soundtrack: HavingALifeFAIL
well to be fair they r probably from a hick town where they dont get out much and have NOTHING whatsoever to do .. so naturally a building being blown up ( potentially) would be an “exciting ” event.. and now b4 the disapproving comments come at me about me saying “hick towns” let me just say that i grew up in one of them up in NY (yeah they r all over) so im not being disrespectful … Im just saying i sadly know how these ppl think
It shows in your grammar.
Crash FTW
Well, its a change from cow tipping and harassing the chickens.
That and they were probably bored with the only other thing you can do….
Are you referring to the reason why Alabama is populated the way it is?
haha….yeah….
hey, when there’s nothing else to do, that is what they do.
not kidding.
They also pose on their bed with their sister, a cigarette and a bottle of anal lube.
Dude, I grew up in a big city and I think it would be cool to watch a building come down.
Commentator: Dennis Hopper soundalike win.
Commentator: Dennis Hopper soundalike win.
common tater: a potato that is commonly found.
ROFL comment win
That building was built on a foundation of win.
win is not stable.
Actually, since the first floor was destroyed, the foundation was irrelevant. It was a “second floor and above” win.
great laughing voice at 0:26. I guess this video was taken by santa clause!!!
great laughing voice at 13,43
Germany rulez
Due to the spoiler under the vid (I gotta learn not to read those), it was only mildly amusing until some random guy shouted “YEAAAH! THEY GOTTA DO IT OVER AGAIN!!!” That voice cracked me up.
hey dude, we gotta push it over!
redneck excitement fail.
Makes 9/11’s controlled demolition that much more impressive.
Conspiracy theory FAIL
Conspiracy theory UBER-Fail
Dick Cheney Win.
Works for me.
I think Cheney is as evil as the next guy, but how is that a win for him? Wouldn’t he have blown it up while a group of school children was touring it and he had W out of DC and then blamed Lichtenstein so we could invade there?
FAIL!!
What are you, a Rosie O’ Donnell fan?
Educate yourself
http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/911myths/4213805.html
You do know the government maks those sites, don’t you?
/paranoia
Yes, and they are coming to GET YOU!!
RUN AWAY RUN AWAY!!11!!!
Actually, we found out that the government actually came up with the 9/11 conspiracies. The idea was that by doing so, people would think the government was powerful enough to pull off such an elaborate plot, therefore making people think the government is more powerful than it is.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystery_of_the_Urinal_Deuce
MORE conspiracy theory fail. Why can’t people just belive the truth that it was A FUCKING TERRORIST ATTACK
Exactly…Anyone who doesn’t realise that wtc taken down by explosives in the building should review their high school physics book….(if they study physics in american schools that is….I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t)
Making stupids feel stupid win
For an understandable version, look it up on the interwebs. It’ll explain how it was brought down in just over the amount of time it would have taken for an object dropped at the top to reach the bottom, etc.
Sen. Ted Stevens fail!
Controlled Demolition? Logic Fail. Controlled demolition means wiring the main columns on every floor to guide the building down. Nobody, not even the 9/11 Truth movement has evidence saying that people went in and did any kind of major work on the building enabling such access to critical structural components. If you can’t get access to the actual structural supports, if nobody witnesses anybody doing anything of that kind, then it’s not difficult to eliminate it.
Force equals mass times acceleration. more than ten or twenty floors falling onto the floor below it is a shitload of mass accelerating at thirty-two feet per second per second. There isn’t a whole lot that’s designed to take not merely the dead load of that weight, and the acceleration forces of it. Hence: A Structural fail. And then another, and then another, as each floor folds under the accelerated weight of that above it.
And of course for those who insist on believe that things getting blown out the windows means explosives, consider this: the building was mostly air, which was kept clear by the material supporting the floor above. That gives way, the air doesn’t magically escape. It blows out, and all the concrete dust gets blown out with it.
Jews did WTC
if Dude K brain power > Reality {
Reality += Protocols of the Elder of Zion.
}
else {
Dude K = FAIL
}
Lol. I liked it.
building fail video fail
You’re doing it wrong!
I actually sent in this link, which I think is funnier:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlMRD2mj5OQ
Although the commentary by Cletus is growing on me.
WOOOO!
Hey Ma! Get off the dang roof!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlMRD2mj5OQ
I actually sent in this link
I think its funnier.
Godammit why does that always happen!?
Comment control fail.
I accept your nomination for fail, and I put it on my mantelpiece.
links need to be approved.
let’s post linky comments 16 times in the future.
Are they person-approved or bot-approved?
guess they shouldn’t have put all those charges in the bomb shelter huh?
This is actually a pretty bad situation for the demolition folks. A failed take down leaves the building in a ridiculously unstable state, and it’s very very very dangerous. They don’t just ‘blow it up again’. If the other posters were right, and that this building had to be taken down ‘by hand’, that would have cost the demolition folks a heck of a lot of money.
Bet they lost their hats on this one
I think what dbs is trying to say is … hahahahahahaha FAIL!!!!!
unnecessary empathy fail.
This looks like the leaning tower… Except it’s probably safer to go in this one.
the sound of rednecks going crazy for a demo pure awsome
Off topic, but who says “first” anymore? Is there a trophy for that or something?
Yes, and the placard reads “FAIL.”
The “firstlings” must be eliminated.
i wonder if first humor is cyclical. will it get to the point, eventually, that it actually, briefly, becomes funny again?
builder 1, demolisher 0
I suspect there were charges placed in the upper sections to deal with that, but that they somehow failed to go off. Usually there is sequencing done to have all the charges go off within a matter of second – but where the lower charges won’t fire if the upper chargest fail.
I want the original construction company to build my next house.
Did you hear the cowardly lion laugh? That was the best part!!
Since nobody has pointed it out yet I feel the need to tell everybody that this video is photoshopped. The shadows are all wrong. The windows of the building were clearly cut and pasted. Or, whatever else it is that photoshop whores cry about.
Yeah and some of the windows were clearly replicated.
Hell, that building isn’t even real, it’s just The White House with a little bit of cut&paste.
I love the way he says Cool. He’s so happy.
He totally reminds me of Kramer.
Heh, that was about 2 miles from my house in Sioux Falls, SD! The demo company got the job with their bid ($400,000)… but they did it cheap-o-ish, and FAILED! They still had to finish the job for their agreed $400k… they lost a ton o’ money on it. They ended up taking a wrecking ball to the rest of it, iirc. There’s a big office complex there now…
Here are some pics from when it happened –

Definitely looks more stable than the tower of Pisa.
It The Leaning Tower of Hicksville
My Uncle-daddy and my Aunt-grandma helped build it from the ground up!
Cool pics. they shoulda left it like that as a landmark.
I would totally go to a building demolition.
It was called the Zip Feed Mill; there’s another video at http://www.siouxfalls.org/Information/webcam_falls/tip_zip.aspx#
Does anyone else think it’d be fun as hell to push that bitch over? I would feel so manly for the rest of my life.
And yet your picture is of a girl.
the only FAIL here is the 30 seconds of laughing…
I live in Sioux Falls, and while I love my city and state…. Cletus there is bloody hilarious!
He seems so happy…
Building says: YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME! PREPARE FOR FULL-SCALE INVASION! (that’s when buildings start showing everywhere… oh wait… that’s called Civilization ._.)
lol
First!
Building construction win?
Jesus, I want that architect’s name.
That building is win. Why are they (failing at) demolishing it?
Birds flying overhead snarking at the fail… win.
Too bad they didn’t build the World Trade Center this sturdy….
Too Soon?
Don’t think that one’s ever going to be funny, Anonymous.
I am wondering how they demolished the buiding at last.
Poisonwaffle:

Dumbass. Read other posts before yuo comment.
wow it must have been a hell of a strong building
oh man, video no longer available, youtube fail
well, on the main page at least …
Boom to failure combo.
7.5
This took place in good ol’ Sioux Falls, SD. I was there to watch it in person, which was actually pretty disappointing, considering all the advertising (that’s what the BOOM! thing was) that had gone on. Apparently the guy who was in charge of the demolition has a reputation for failure.
Ladies and Gentlement, I present to you the Leaning Tower of FAIL.
Now what do you do?!
dude…wasn’t this in winnipeg?
no! hahahahaahhahahahahahahahahaha….no.
at times like this…. a bet they wished they were equipped with a RPG hehe…(RPG = Rocket Propelled Grenade put that here to look mildly intelligent XD)
lol thats just a warning shot to get the birds out of the building
the hick is annoying
‘These guys suck at their jobs! WOOOOO!!’
And they said the WTC went down with a plain…
Unfortunately now the building is unstable and it’s not safe to enter, so they can’t go in to place more charges. It must have been really hard to safely finish this job. I wonder what they did?
Read the above comments, they took it out with a wrecking ball.
Glad they could truck in gallagher for the commentary
