Matt Shafer

How original.

OOHHH! I’M FIRST AND A HALF!!1!!!1!

Bubba Zed

First - pre-adolescent twat.

Trisreed

Who gives a shit about who is first? If you don’t like it, ignore it.

art

“first” posting will never go away. it is a staple of the failblog comment community

my name is bs

me caring fail

Dark

Guys, that’s not exactly a comment.
So, firefox 3 doesn’t work? Awesome.

TheRealWazzar

Well it confirms that IE6 doesn’t work…
They’ve also fixed the 2.0.0.14 glitch.

Dark

Internet Explorer is a series of bugs and errors, it’s not a web browser program. At least it’s better than Vista, which if it was a boat would be made out of sponge.

Matt Gibson

IE is responsible for planetary deforestation. All the HTML/CSS/web design books in the world use twice as many trees as they need to, because exactly half the words in the text are always “…except in Internet Explorer 6, which is broken. As usual.”

Moseses

Its more likely that whomever took that screen capture is running a mac
with a less than new operating system, in which case firefox three wouldnt be the
one he would download, it would be 2.0.0.14, the older one that will run on a
OS x 10.3.x system. blerg

Anonymous

no. you are just plain stupid, it was windows.

Legion

Moseses,

Mac OS hasn’t had a port of IE for quite some time…

rob

OMFG!!! have you ever used a mac?! it looks nothing like that! >_>
the windows and bars and things in mac look very diffrent to the blue bars and windows of a pc. >_<

Anonymous

well, seing as it says 2.0.0.14 for MAC OS X…..

(although the first pic was in windows, the second was a mac)

Mike

When I first installed FF3 on Windows, I got the “you have installed 2.0.0.14″ message. I still get it with FF3.0.1 patches

oh brother

i made the mistake of getting a computor with a virus, to remove the ivrus i have to uninstall the software it came with. ie vista.

Amy

First off; nobody cares if you’re first or second or watever, go kill yourself.

Second, does anyone else find it deliciously ironic that the “failpage” is showing on IE?

Ted

I think you’ll find I’m better than you.

By 3 places.

kiss, kiss treacle.

xx

..vich

you FAIL at chillin my friend…

RedTheVamp

duhhhhhh they are tryin to download Firefox

i still have to say Firefox ftw

Christine

you must fail at life to want to care about that.
and yes, ie is terrible.
as you are.

Crum

Wow, third…wait, why are we counting???
And why does firefox insist on being annoying!

Xornin

Looks like Microsoft blocked the Firefox website within their own browser, wouldn’t surprise me any.
Or maybe its just a coincidence.
funny either way

Diogo

Nah, it was a global thing. http://www.spreadfirefox.com couldn’t be reached not even _on_ fire–er–failfox.

nebunu

I’m in ur brauzr, stealin’ ur pagez!
kthxbye

nebunu

btw, I’m writing this in Firefox3. Their site si back online and already reporting 1.5 mil downloads… GG!

Taylor

I just have to say, I haven’t seen/heard anyone say GG since I was in like 10th grade, haha.

Badvock

69th………………….dude, randomn number shout ftw!

Mrs. Micah

Once I got through to the site it was only a couple minutes before I had FF3 up and running. But yeah, their connection was a fail. I guess that means their plans for an epic level of downloading was a success…

Dave

DAMMIT BADWOCK. Beat me.

I was ready to download FF3 at 10:15 and all Mozilla sites were down for quite a long time. Finally I was sick of waiting…but eventually got it. I like it so far, much faster than FF2.

Anyways, I kind of like how in the picture…it’s goddamn IE6…and the person is concerned with FF3’s release? Fail IMO.

Kev

Is it sad that I thought the exact same thing when I saw the page a few hours ago?

emrahustun

Because of Firefox Download Day, Mozilla servers were gone for a while.
Nice catch.

GOro

When you try to download the ff3 from a winxp, watch the download page, at the second step image (! titlebar !)

http://www.mozilla.com/img/tignish/download/xp/step2.png

John Snith

Windows fails. Use a real OS.

Danielle

Er, I would count this as an Internet Explorer fail.

William T

I don’t think the cause was their servers being gone. I think they failed to update their servers on time.

I actually hit the servers 4 times in about five minutes, as soon as the promo site changed to show a “GET FIREFOX” link: the first hit showed a 2.0.0.14 link with a 7MB download; the second hit showed the same link but with an allegedly 4MB download. I hit that one, and got 2.0.0.14 (7 MB). On the third hit the page changed to actually be the current Firefox 3 page, but the link took me to a mirror my employer blocked (some ISO site).

Finally I got it, and am now happily running Firefox 3. My extensions mostly work; the two that didn’t aren’t important anyhow (one I’d like back, but I can wait). I’ve gotten a couple of crashes, but it restarts up so quickly I wouldn’t have known about them if it weren’t for the trackback agent; it even puts up the pages it was running at crash time, EXCEPT sometimes for the page that was loading at the time. I can never reproduce the crash.

Good enough.

DeathByBattleaxe

Yeah, I grabbed the old version the first time, too. I got it all installed and was like “this isn’t any different”. Reading FAIL. Oblivious WIN.

But now I’ve got the right one.

MP

More like, IE FAIL. Of course it can’t find the server… it’s INTERNET EXPLORER.

Gimmie Yer Burger

If i could give you a thumbs up like digg, I would. IE is a nightmare.

Article Author: Your download link goes to release candidates of Firefox 3, not the final version that was released yesterday. You might want to fix that.

ozyran

Yeah, I thought something was odd about the FireFox 3.0 that I had downloaded lol

Fibonacci

Of course it failed - you were viewing it through Internet Explorer!
