Matt Shafer

Ooohhh….someone wrote something other than “FIRST!!!!11!!!1″

grond

This must have been the first time…

kannadzuki

Original comment FAIL

lowly grunt

Well that kinda depends on the conditions of the lodging, doesn’t it? It might be a nice place to stay but I’d rather not find out.

Gaddorm

You jackass. You fail at life, please go punch yourself in the face.

Dark

Dude, I agree with you, but “punch yourself in the face”? That’s a bit weak…

Failinglife

yea, drown yourself in a toilet is waaayyyy better.

me-how

Maybe they just don’t speak english?

ariel wollinger

exactly! There are a lot of english names like chicago and boston for example that sound like and are written like bad words. chicago in portuguese could be interpreted as : oops, shat ! and boston sound like big shit in portuguese.
So IT is a failed fail, because it is from a foreign culture.

laubo

what does the sign mean?

Dark

It appears to be spanish. From my very limited knowledge of etymology, something about an industry maybe to do with earth?(terra)… and a hotel service? That makes very little sense. Hell, I’ll use babelfish.
Babelfish:
Spanish to English: Service of the Industrial Hotel trade of Terrassa (Terrassa is an area in Spain.
So, I was almost horribly wrong.

MP

“Industrial Hostel Service of Terrassa” would be the correct translation.

Dark

I was using a translator. Give me a break, I never even studied Spanish.

Anonymous

You fail at Spanish.

SaNdCrAwLeR

Fail at spanish! :P
anyway its the Service for Industrial Lodging of Terrassa (Lodging is a synonim to Hosteling and the most appropriate here)

;)

Anonymous

Although the sign is in spanish, Terrassa isn’t an area, it’s a town, and it isn’t in Spain, is in the Catalan Countries, a non-recognized country occupied since more than three hundred years by Spain. ;)
The language spoken in the Catalan Countries is catalan, a romanic language as spanish, portuguese, french or occitan. The catalan countries are located between Spain and France, having land in both states and more than 12 millions people. The most important and well-known city is Barcelona.

Juasman

man, you are an asshole, you know shit about spain :)

Anonymous

It sounds funny, but I am sure I do know more than you, at least in
its repressive manners, that seem pretty close to yours…
:D

Keelhaul

Nobody really gives a Service for Industrial Lodging of Terrassa.

Elare

Actually, what he said is dead on and completely accurate.

I’m from Spain and I used to live like 30 minutes away from Terrassa (which is, in fact, a town). I probably passed by that spot in the picture at some point or another, and I never noticed it LOL.

Juasman

You are a total fail. Fail at history, fail at politics, fail at common sense. Fail at being fickle.

FAIL!

Anonymous

and you FAIL at respect, can’t you understand people’s will?

grond

If the language spoken is català, why is the sign in Spanish (castellano)? Or is the missing accent in “hostelería” an indication that it actually isn’t castellano?

BTW, separatism sucks.

atomsk

It IS in spanish, but someone comitted an ortographic fail there.

That sign fails in nearly every possible way.

Deodand

I bet the light bulbs inside don’t work either.

David España

Im spanish, and this isnt the truth. Catalonia is in Spain like Galicia or Castilla la mancha. A little part of catalonians want to be independents, but only a litlle part. I someone want to go out, should go to andorra. no ?

esparver

Spaniards fail. Catalans are cooler.

Anonymous

Sorry but I wasn’t speaking with you,
Are you trying to make a fool of me?
Because you are only achieving making a fool of yourself…
Go and FAIL elsewhere, disrespectful spanish.

Anonymous

Tú eres tonto, tío

barney

se ve que eres catalán jajaj pero creo que la mayor parte de la gente aquí no te va a entender y se va a perder cuando le hables de los problemas territoriales de españa

Anonymous

you must be catalonian to say something so away from truth, Terrassa IS part of Spain, the term catalan countries doesn’t even exist and hasn’t been occupied it since the french did, go read a true book of history before posting all these fakes
, you fail at so many levels…

Mauro Picotto

hum, … Catalan countries?! Independent FAIL!!!
Catalonia is in Spain… no matter what you want.
And “Servicio de Hostelería industrial de Terrassa” is
written in spanish, not catalan.

Eco

Nationalism fail! Catalunya is Spain, at least for now. And most Catalan people feel Spanish.

Xavi

Terrassa is a city, near Barcelona…

Kieron

I live 30 km from this town. Terrassa is a town just outside of Barcelona. The translation of the name is “Terrassa Industrial Hostelry Services”, which is shit backwards., which I also find funny on several levels.

Cronoser

It means Industrial service hotel of Terrassa.

Unicorn

this isn’t really a failure.

w00t

thats near my home (portugal)
in english says
industrial hotelary service of terrasa

Joe

Gee, thanks for that wonderful translation.

Am.Pyka

lol
Really? When I saw that I thought that was a manipulated image because it’s a very stupid thing in portuguese, I would even say that make no sense at all…

The man that ordered that was… well… dumb!

TheLarrikin

It’s Spanish.

It seems to be a store to supply hotels, located in Terrassa.

rphlfmf

I thought it was some other language (maybe italian or some bad spelled spanish, I don’t know). “Servicio” here in Brasil is “serviço”, so i thought it was written the same way in Portugal.

=)

Ray C.

I consulted this online Portuguese dictionary (Portuguese language website) and it has no entry for “servício”. The Spanish spelling isn’t too bad, but “hostelería” should have an acute accent on the I.

Ray C.

I Google “Terrassa” as spelled and I find only a city in Catalonia (that’s eastern Spain for those who FAIL at geography). So it’s perhaps not as near as you seem to be implying.

TheLarrikin

‘Near’ in Europe and ‘near’ in America are two completely different concepts.

Juasman

¿Terrassa near portugal? MEGA GEOGRAPHY FAIL!

This city is in Catalonia, northeast spain, in the mediterranean coast.

w00t

theres terrasa in portugal too

L

yeah I thought that was Portuguese. Thought I was going crazy for a minute.

chill

its a “i am american everybody should speak english” PHAIL! for you the poster

Anonymous

Stop trying so hard to be “understanding of other cultures” The sign reads S.H.I.T. Now while I don’t expect everyone in the world to be fluent in english, certain swearwords tend to be frighteningly universal, especially the big ones like SHIT.

Ray C.

Quick, name the Spanish word for shit.

Can’t? Didn’t think so.

See the problem? You might create that as an acronym by mistake.

you

you fail at making a point

Dark

Not really, you just fail at understanding.

Anonymous

And that would also be a fail.

Just like this is.

Anonymous

Everything is a fail.

Except suicide, which is always a win.

I encourage you all to WIN.

Ray C.

Você FALHA. That’s Portuguese and possibly Italian. The word is mierda.
