For one who parades historical knowledge around and belittles others with it, you certainly don’t know much. First: The supply ships that kept England stocked were merchant ships, not part of the US military. They are colloquially referred to as “Merchant Marines” but that is in name only. Yes they risked much and many lost their lives to German U-Boats but it was not a government action. It was the actions of private citizens and companies who were willing to risk their lives and boats to break the German blockade. Second: Hitler didn’t bomb Pearl Harbor the Japanese did, that was what got us into WWII, our retaliating raid on Japan’s newly conquered Islands in the south Pacific is what caused Hitler to declare war on us because he was their ally. It was only after this point that we answered our allies request to actively help them in Europe. Up till that point the US military was headed by people with isolationist policies who didn’t want to get involved because the war in Europe and Japan attempting to conquer every island in the pacific didn’t directly affect us even though our allies (countries we were sworn to protect and aide) were pleading for our help.

Someone conducting a protest by burning some symbolic cloth does not make them a terrorist. Terrorists generally don’t bother with peaceful protests, or even riots. They may attempt to recruit members from such events, but all the terrorist linked activities seem to be gun and bomb related. Yes the dude in the photo deserves to be laughed at because he accidentally lit himself on fire. The circumstances behind the photo are secondary.
