» 100 Failures in Communication

  1. Shin says:

    First

  2. laubo says:

    Second

  3. Minger says:

I’m struggling to see the fail here. Open window, swing bike onto hook. Chain it.

    I presume this is a high-crime area?

  4. Linfrödamen says:

This is not a fail. It is just a really clever way to store your bike.
    I say revoke FAIL !!!

  5. Rimšiakas says:

    Are those 1cm balconies?

  6. minishaw says:

    smart man tbh

  7. drapolas says:

    smart not fail !

  8. Anonymous says:

I agree with the other comments.

This should be redeclared to: Smart theft-protection win (or alternatively: Smart small-apartment storage win).

  9. john says:

This aint no fail — just an ingenious way to store your bike.

  10. e says:

I can see this being a fail if you’re trying to get the bike inside in a hurry and drop it, but otherwise it’s a pretty nifty idea. Perhaps install a catch-net under the bike just in case?

I’m impressed by – and curious about – the contrast between the balcony next to the bike… looks like it’s been enclosed to make a bay window type area, and all the windows look nice and new – compare that to the decrepitude of the one just below. (Curious because I’ve never lived in an apartment where the tenant was allowed to make modifications like that, or even so much as paint the walls for that matter – is this a case of the person owning the apartment, I wonder?)

    • kannadzuki says:

Though I’ve only ever painted one of my apartments, I’ve had close friends who have done so and made modifications other than that as well. At least where I’m from, what matters is that you have an agreement with your landlord/lady and/or rental company about who’s responsible for what (if anything) when you move out. In some cases (especially with character buildings), you can just leave things alone afterward, and your modifications will add value for new renters looking for something unique. :)

    • PEEPEEPOOPOO says:

I can see this being a peepee if you’re trying to get the poopoo inside in a hurry and drop it, but otherwise it’s a pretty nifty peepeepoopoo. Perhaps install a peepee-net under the poopoo just in case?

  11. Anonymous says:

    Wouldn’t that be a condo?

  12. Burp says:

    FAIL FAIL

This is the worst failblog post ever.

  13. thalden says:

Well, I really can’t imagine it would be easy to get the bike to ground level without some form of failure.

  14. Scottie says:

    Looks like success to me.

  15. ClickClick says:

    Need to recaption to:

    Epic Bike Theft – FAIL!

  16. Fishy says:

Yes, I agree, this is the exact opposite of a fail.

  17. Joolz says:

    Look out belooooooooow!

It does seem like a win to me. It’s a clever way to store a bike in a teeny apartment. It can’t be easy to hoist that inside, though, unless maybe that window next to it opens.

  18. knails says:

    thats not fail

    that is storage win

  19. RedWhiteAndBoom says:

I just had a bike stolen from in front of my house yesterday, so I’d have to agree with the revoke-fail crowd: Nobody can steal it from there unless you get inside the dude’s house.

  20. Quilt says:

    Total bike WIN.

  21. Glassback says:

    Yup, Win Parking, tbh

  22. I agree with the others. This is a storage WIN!

  23. Anonymous says:

    this is definitely a win.

  24. kp says:

Hey, I think that’s a great idea! I’ve had it myself…you might understand if you have ever lived in the city with limited space ;-)

    storage WIN for sure.

  25. Cloral says:

Looks kinda funny, but funny =/= fail.

  26. John says:

BTW, this is in Romania (you can tell by the apartment styles) and yes they do have a high crime rate.

    • Are you sure? It looks like it’s in San Francisco, because there’s this one building with stuff just hanging out of the windows randomly and stuff. It’s really cool. xD

  27. Adriano says:

To the people thinking this is a win:
Of course, the rain doesn’t affect bikes at all. They don’t rust, they don’t require lubricant, they do not suffer the weather.

    • minishaw says:

the bike looks in good condition to me aslong as he cleans and drys the bike before rideing it every day it wont rust

      • Adriano says:

I didn’t mean the bike would crumble in pieces right then and there, only that you don’t leave bikes outside -if you care at all- because they rust and ruin.
Cleaning and drying a wet bike before going to work is pretty high on my
“don’t want to do this just after waking up” list.

I hope I was trolled when responding, actually.

    • Anonymous says:

So that makes any bike parked outside a fail? Oh wait, this holds true for cars too.

      Comment fail. Fail picture fail.

      • Adriano says:

Last time I saw them, cars don’t usually have oiled gears and transmission chains exposed, and differ from bikes in many other interesting ways.
Lesson of the day: bikes are _better_ kept under a roof _when not used_. I know some people drag their mountain bikes across rivers and deserts, up mountains, etc. Still, the ones that care about their bikes _clean them_ afterwards, and store them under roof.
But hey, whatever floats your logic.

        IHBT.

  28. namefail says:

fail yourself, you failing fail! it’s no fail at all, it’s just no enough inner space! haven’t you saw “icetube”? Every student here in Ukraine uses it! You just put your products in a big bag and hang then out of your window. It especially helps in our eastern part! Not everyone can have enough money for a refrigirator!

  29. Camo Cat says:

biggest possible fail that could happen is that whatever is holding it up breaks and falls on top of someone.. thats the FAIL ^_^

  30. PHAIL Explainer says:

The fail isn’t that it’s chained to the wall, the fail is that the handlebar is cemented into the wall.

  31. Sean says:

I was looking for E.T. and Elliot in a crumpled mess below.

  32. ash says:

good idea if you live in japan or so,and theres no more space to store u’re bike on the ground….or if u’re just fed up with u’re bikes being stolen at least once a year(like in vienna..)

  33. triLcat says:

Might be Israel — in which case it doesn’t rain from May to October.
so I vote for cool storage win!

  34. Fumbe says:

What the- How the- …. Y’know what? I’m just going to accept it.

  35. хохол says:

    россиЯ бля!!

  36. хохол says:

    бля!!!

  37. konstrukt says:

I saw similar buildings like this in China. That was my first thought of location when I saw this picture. I also don’t think this is a fail, very unique and creative way to store you bike in a place where space is valuable.

  38. Gret says:

It’s actually kinda clever … no one can steal your bike …

  39. notaretard says:

I’m trying to figure out why the commentors on this site are so fucking stupid. I generally read comments to learn more about the subject matter. Instead I learn more about how fucking stupid humans are– it’s almost like the “FAIL” site generates the worst and most incredibly fucking stupid commentors of the human species. Oh wait, maybe that’s most of the human species.

“First!” OH, HI! Umm… we opened up your head and it was full of shit, any comments?

    FIRST!

This is 2008. All you have to do is make a simple parser, it goes a lil something like this:

If post= “first” or anything of that nature, eradicate post: it was made by a FAIL’d human. Equals monkey. I can’t help but think that the people running this site, oh never mind, how can they care, all this shit is free, but who the fuck are you people? Your comments are absolutely vacuous. You can look that up in the dictionary, along with “vapid,” and dictionaries are online right now, so just do it, that’s you.

Also if you want to look at devolution, stupidity, I am a fucking hamster posing as a human, all of these things will apply to you.

Now what you need to do is go purchase a gun or some poison or a rope or drive your car off a cliff– the main thing is that as a FAILure, it would be so awesome if all of you shitty commentors (and you know who you are, how? Because you’re offended by this post) went and killed yourselves and it’s very important that you do this.

If we can get enough of you people to kill yourselves the human race will continue to exist.

Think of it this way: if you kill yourself, and get your friends to kill themselves, we will be down that many human monkeys– think of it as “dying” (you can’t really die if you’re already dead, anyway) for your fellow humans.

Think of your grandmother, or someone you admire.

    Kill yourself for them.

    Thank you.

  40. notaretard says:

Also, I thought of another thing, about your grandmother.

She looks at you and you are so fucking stupid that she thinks to herself, “I just wish he was a fucking retard.”

  41. Jess says:

this is not a FAIL picture… this is from germany. its art. they also have chairs on the walls a few stories up that people sit on as an outside show. its bloody art lol

  42. TruP8triot says:

    More like Bike Thief Fail

  43. Bojan says:

Building is unarguably from eastern Europe. I live in Belgrade and people here tend to own (not lend) apartments, usually sharing them with 5 more occupants so bike had to go out.

Bike is cleverly stored but it certainly FAILS at safety.

  44. J. says:

Ahhh! The “vandal resistant” bike rack.

  45. Crux says:

    Anti-theft WIN!

  46. Ryno says:

Looks like a total win to me. Space saver bike storage!

  47. nomdunchien says:

He was just looking for a place to store his bike and found it. It’s not a fail!

  48. Kat says:

I actually think thats a pretty good idea for someone living in a small apartment haha

  49. foodlist97 says:

Just like spawning a bike in GTA 4.

  50. Courtney says:

Its like ET all over again!

  51. Meeee says:

It’s definitely Romania! And I must say it’s quite ingenious. Out of the ordinary…but still….ingenious.

  52. Nifta-Bifta says:

    WIN!!!!

  53. frogman says:

It would be a fail if the bike fell, but this is a win! XD

  54. watcher says:

atleast it’d be hard for someone to steal it.. unless they’re spiderman in reguards to security it’s a win, but a fail otherwise for the other aspects

  55. Sinewave says:

    EeeeeTeeeee paaaarrrrkkkk biiiiiiikkkkkeeee….

  56. colBoh says:

    Bicycle security WIN.

  57. Nelalvai says:

On the bright side…I don’t think that bike is going to get stolen. :)
