First
And? Who cares?
you do
people who’s only comment is first, or second for that matter = fail
First-dot-one
Second
LOL total PWN!!!! Look up a bit.
Actually he is right, look at the dates.
I’m struggling to see the fail here. Open window, swing bike onto hook. Chain it.
I presume this is a high-crime area?
Hahahaa, ‘High’ crime area. Good one
HAHAHA nice
HAH! First real LOL of the day. Comment is full of win.
omg rofl!
ahahahahah security first, or maybe he ust liks to make excersice in high areas wihle he watches what happens in the city(this happens when u dont have a TV)
This is not a fail. It is just a really clever way to store your bike.
I say revoke FAIL !!!
It’s the Harry Potter way of getting to work!
This is not a fail. This is an excellent way to store your bike. Every tiny little bit of room counts when you live in tiny apartments. I know, because I’ve done this too, except my bike did not make it on to failblog.
Maaan… way to ruin a joke.
I do think the same, I’ll consider storing my bike like this…
Are those 1cm balconies?
FAIL!
smart man tbh
smart not fail !
I agree with the other comments.
This should be redeclared to: Smart theft-protection win (or alternatively: Smart small-apartment storage win).
book nerd fail
COMPUTER nerd fail
CAPSLOCK fail
This aint no fail — just an ingenious way to store your bike.
I can see this being a fail if you’re trying to get the bike inside in a hurry and drop it, but otherwise it’s a pretty nifty idea. Perhaps install a catch-net under the bike just in case?
I’m impressed by - and curious about - the contrast between the balcony next to the bike… looks like it’s been enclosed to make a bay window type area, and all the windows look nice and new - compare that to the decrepitude of the one just below. (Curious because I’ve never lived in an apartment where the tenant was allowed to make modifications like that, or even so much as paint the walls for that matter - is this a case of the person owning the apartment, I wonder?)
Though I’ve only ever painted one of my apartments, I’ve had close friends who have done so and made modifications other than that as well. At least where I’m from, what matters is that you have an agreement with your landlord/lady and/or rental company about who’s responsible for what (if anything) when you move out. In some cases (especially with character buildings), you can just leave things alone afterward, and your modifications will add value for new renters looking for something unique.
This is somewhere in the former Soviet Union or Eastern Europe. They don’t tend to have the space you might be used to, and certainly not much in the way of regulation. Closing in the balcony is quite common.
Robert is right, looks like Eastern Europe and over there it’s far more common to own than to lease. So any such modifications are allowed.
you are right,it`s in ROMANIA
I can see this being a peepee if you’re trying to get the poopoo inside in a hurry and drop it, but otherwise it’s a pretty nifty peepeepoopoo. Perhaps install a peepee-net under the poopoo just in case?
I’m impressed by - and curious about - the peepee between the poopoo next to the bike… looks like it’s been enclosed to make a peepee window type area, and all the poopoos look nice and new - compare that to the decrepitude of the peepee just below. (Curious because I’ve never lived in a poopoo where the peepee was allowed to make poopoos like that, or even so much as peepee the walls for that matter - is this a case of the poopoo owning the peepeepoopoo, I wonder?)
Wouldn’t that be a condo?
FAIL FAIL
This is the worst failblog post ever.
Well, I really can’t imagine it would be easy to get the bike to ground level without some form of failure.
Looks like success to me.
Need to recaption to:
Epic Bike Theft - FAIL!
Yes, I agree, this is the exact opposite of a fail.
Look out belooooooooow!
It does seem like a win to me. It’s a clever way to store a bike in a teeny apartment. It can’t be easy to hoist that inside, though, unless maybe that window next to it opens.
thats not fail
that is storage win
I just had a bike stolen from in front of my house yesterday, so I’d have to agree with the revoke-fail crowd: Nobody can steal it from there unless you get inside the dude’s house.
…or you can fly… And if you can fly, why do you need a bike?
Total bike WIN.
i agree. it is a bike, is it not? how can this be a bike fail?
Yup, Win Parking, tbh
I agree with the others. This is a storage WIN!
this is definitely a win.
Hey, I think that’s a great idea! I’ve had it myself…you might understand if you have ever lived in the city with limited space
storage WIN for sure.
Looks kinda funny, but funny =/= fail.
BTW, this is in Romania (you can tell by the apartment styles) and yes they do have a high crime rate.
Are you sure? It looks like it’s in San Francisco, because there’s this one building with stuff just hanging out of the windows randomly and stuff. It’s really cool. xD
To the people thinking this is a win:
Of course, the rain doesn’t affect bikes at all. They don’t rust, they don’t require lubricant, they do not suffer the weather.
the bike looks in good condition to me aslong as he cleans and drys the bike before rideing it every day it wont rust
I didn’t mean the bike would crumble in pieces right then and there, only that you don’t leave bikes outside -if you care at all- because they rust and ruin.
Cleaning and drying a wet bike before going to work is pretty high on my
“don’t want to do this just after waking up” list.
I hope I was trolled when responding, actually.
So that makes any bike parked outside a fail? Oh wait, this holds true for cars too.
Comment fail. Fail picture fail.
Last time I saw them, cars don’t usually have oiled gears and transmission chains exposed, and differ from bikes in many other interesting ways.
Lesson of the day: bikes are _better_ kept under a roof _when not used_. I know some people drag their mountain bikes across rivers and deserts, up mountains, etc. Still, the ones that care about their bikes _clean them_ afterwards, and store them under roof.
But hey, whatever floats your logic.
IHBT.
fail yourself, you failing fail! it’s no fail at all, it’s just no enough inner space! haven’t you saw “icetube”? Every student here in Ukraine uses it! You just put your products in a big bag and hang then out of your window. It especially helps in our eastern part! Not everyone can have enough money for a refrigirator!
biggest possible fail that could happen is that whatever is holding it up breaks and falls on top of someone.. thats the FAIL ^_^
The fail isn’t that it’s chained to the wall, the fail is that the handlebar is cemented into the wall.
I was looking for E.T. and Elliot in a crumpled mess below.
good idea if you live in japan or so,and theres no more space to store u’re bike on the ground….or if u’re just fed up with u’re bikes being stolen at least once a year(like in vienna..)
Might be Israel — in which case it doesn’t rain from May to October.
so I vote for cool storage win!
What the- How the- …. Y’know what? I’m just going to accept it.
россиЯ бля!!
бля!!!
english fail!
