Yes, and “spelled” is spelled “spelled,” unless you’re making bread.
“Drive thru” is an accepted variant spelling in the US, as are “lite” (as in “lite beer”) and “lo” (as in “lo-cal”) and “donut” (instead of “doughnut”), to name a few. And for us, “spelt” is a species of wheat.
Seriously, it’s a LOLpic, not a thesis/dissertation or a scientific journal – you understood what “drive thru” meant even if the spelling was the slang variant, so why make a big deal out of it?

FAIL. Even the American Heritage Dictionary (which seems to be one of the major reasons Americans don’t know the difference between irony and sarcasm) knows that “spelt” is past tense of “spell”.

Well… spelt is spelt “spelt” in the UK. It’s quite acceptable too, as a past tense for spell. But like you say, each to their own…

Spelt is the proper British English past tense of spell. Not everyone on the internet is American, and low and behold, not everyone on the internet speaks English, either. So *gasp* it might just be possible that *OMG* someone might misuse a word now and again, or *heaven forbid* someone with a reading or writing disorder might post something, and not do so well with spelling and grammar. It really disgusts me when people just assume that someone is uneducated, lazy, or incorrect, when that simply isn’t the case. And I should go to bed, it’s 2:50 AM. OMG!!1! I started a sentence with the word AND! The world! It’s going to explode!

It’s in town in Leeds, next to the Mio Modo restaurant. I go past it every morning, and FAILED in sorting out the pavement there.
This was probably some drunk driver who mowed down three innocent people on the way in there. ** SHOCK HORROR ** Best it be removed otherwise we’ll have tour de fail all over again

actually its mia modo in leeds, just off the main road in Wellington Street i believe, i remember this happening was all over the news, as the bar had only just opened, i think it was 06/07
It’s actually happened more than once although I don’t think it was quite so spectacular the 2nd time.
