and also, why do you care so much? In the U.S., we have a very popular sport called Football. It’s not going to change it’s name. So we cannot call association football “football”. Luckily, there is another universally understood name for that game = soccer. Otherwise, Americans WOULD be calling it “football”. Is this really a problem?

The rules of association football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863, and the name association football was coined to distinguish the game from the other versions of football played at the time. The word soccer is a colloquial abbreviation of association (from assoc.) and first appeared in the 1880s. An early usage found in an English 1892 periodical.[1] The word is sometimes credited to Charles Wreford Brown, an Oxford student said to have been fond of shortened forms such as brekkers for breakfast and rugger for rugby football. (See Oxford -er) Clive Toye noted that even English people called the game “soccer” interchangably with “football” until the second half of the 20th century. “A quirk of British culture is the permanent need to familiarize names by shortening them. … Toye [said] ‘They took the third, fourth and fifth letters of Association and called it SOCcer.’”[2]

I hope you read this because I was born in Texas, and I’ve grew up here. I am not a hick, I do ride a “horsie” to school, it called a mustang, its bright red and it goes vroom vroom! I took the s.a.t.(the big college test) in eighth grade and I did better then 70% of college bound seniors and I read very well thank you! I go to a prep school! I can also spell, which is more then i can say for you!

I think your little grammar criticism would have been a lot more effective had you used proper punctuation yourself.

For example, there was no need to put a comma behind your word complete, as it was followed by a conjunction. Also, after the word sentence, you should have put a semi-colon as that would have been a slightly longer pause necessary to make the sentence proper.
