That’s bizarre, but not funny. Since the Fail Blog has decided to “be big business” they seem to post every effing picture they get. We have soon reached the level of “look how people trip and fall” tv shows. I will soon have had enough, and I’m sure many of the original audience of this blog will, too.
EDITOR’S RESPONSE:
We’re working on 2 things at FAIL Blog since we acquired Google and a staff of 10,000.
1) Find out what works and doesn’t by posting a wider variety of pictures. We get twice as many submissions than we did about a month ago. So We can either post the same old things, or try something new and maybe fail. If you don’t like it, vote it down. That’s the clearest indicator to us of what the community likes and dislikes.
2) We’ll be adding a voting page, where you’ll see submissions that are potentially up for homepage. Again, this is in line with our philosophy of the user community dictating what gets shown to the masses on the homepage.

And yeah, ever since the Google purchase, my stock in Fail Blog (NYSE symbol: FAIL) has risen ten fold!
So, you don’t like it and therefore it’s the end of the Failblog and the world as we know it? Way to go, drama queen.
I have seen good cosplay and bad cosplay. I’ll definitely call this bad cosplay, but if you’ve ever seen Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon or Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers - you know that people get paid big money to dress up in silly costumes. Oh, and just think about GenCon, or the Society for Creative Anachronism - this isn’t bizarre, it’s just not well done. And let’s not forget Halloween, or even cross-dressing. Adults playing dressup happens just as frequently as children playing dressup, and there’s nothing wrong with either age group playing, either. It just draws more attention when adults do it because it’s not “what everybody else is doing.”

I agree with you on all points here. One of the first rules for “garb” in the S.C.A is that it is all in the attempt. I do costuming and makeup as a hobby. Its creative fun and challenging. Some times the costume doesn’t work or looks campy. In this instance A campy cartoon inspired a campy set of costumes.
um, that’s what fail is. people failing at simple tasks. like walking without falling. your rant is a fail.
How is it a fail? Do you actually have to look exactly like Heman and Shera to dress up as them and pose for a photo? You’d be a total downer at fancy dress parties.

All I can see is a guy and a girl cosplaying as he-man and what’s-her-face. Nothing wrong here.
Cosplaying IS wrong since it’s means your a stupid nerd (don’t mind the movie…it was made by nerds…nerds are and have always been wrong. But cosplaying as He-Man is great…one of the excempts
Cosplay isn’t a bad thing, there are artists who dedicate their time making clothes 100% identical to a character, and they do a neat job.
It’s bad when people try to be “as cool” as the fictional character, and fail at it. You have to keep in mind that just because the character is awesome, doesn’t mean you, dressed as him/her will be awesome as well.
I take it back…cosplaing as He-Man is stupid. Anyone cosplaying is a nerd, ESPECIALLY if you do it to a 100%. All you get is a neat nerd.

They don’t. If they do I guess they would still be cute, but they would also be nerds.

well, I live in a small city, having a social life with many and many friends (no, they don’t just look nerd), I get great results in sports (kung fu) and in School.
I like cosplayng too.
If being a winner AND a cosplayer makes me a nerd, just envy me and enjoy your mediocrity.

Uh, I’m a nerd and I still think this is DOES deserve to be on the blog. I mean, come on, guys, the cosplayers photoshopped sparkles onto their swords so it looked more realistic in the picture. They found a wooded area nearby. They had a friend take their picture. Come on. It’s a little fail.
I mean, people already get up in arms over what, 2 varieties of fail?
a) Legitimately photoshopped pictures / real pictures which have the unfortunate distinction of looking like they could maybe possibly be photoshopped
b) Fails in which animals fail fatally
And I think there have been funny entries in both categories. Certainly not all of them, but some of them. And I know there are slews of people who wished that these unholy impurities never graced the page.
Do we really need to add c) Disturbs our nerdy internet sensibilities?
It doesn’t offend my nerdy sensibilities..I just don’t think they have failed. They are just having some fun..it’s not exactly the coolest kind of fun there is, but doesn’t make it Fail.
