lmao epic
Omfg you fail xD
imao:D:D:D
What the fuck is that thing that presumably did the damage?!
Some sort of uber-hairdryer I assume… but if it melts plastic you won’t want to use it on your hair.
It’s a heat gun.
Maybe someone got tired of waiting for their dinner.
I have a heat gun that can get up to 1000F. That pic is UBER-FAIL
Odd that the really hard abs plastic of the keyboard melted but the flexi-cable looks like its in perfect condition.
Yeah, I think that they forgot to Photoshop that
if you take a good look, you can see that the cable IS dammaged.
You don’t HAVE to take a good look to see just how damaged your spelling of ‘damaged’ is.
yep. it’s a conspiracy
Heat gun win!
the cable is melted together at one point
hehehehe wicked
Computer needed a Firewall?

lol
I really wonder what this guy was trying to do. (I assume it was a guy, computer + powertool + fire fail is a masculine province, in my experience.)
Might have been trying to reflow solder on a board or do some shrink wrapping, put the gun down and either forgot to turn it off or it fell over.
The sad thing is is that looks like an IBM Model M — the most win keyboard ever.
/mourn
The melted keyboard fortunately is not a Model M. The real Model M does not have an “L” shaped Enter key. It’s also too flat to be the real thing.
also: the backspace-key is twice the size on the model M. i love my trusty model- M. how would have thought: the coach has a nerdy side.
They didn’t want the computer to freeze up.

lol!
That guy is lucky he didn’t start a fire.
I believe it because some jackass did the EXACT SAME THING, but with my backpack!! -_-U
its an epic win now the keyboard is looking awesome xD
I especially like how the melted keyboard has caused one of the keys to get stuck in the pressed position (look at the text on the monitor).
Why would someone have a heating gun on their desk?
Overkill for heat-shrink tubing? I think if he was doing something with solder or other circuit-board work we’d have a much more epic fail on our hands.
Hm, saw a picture a long time ago hanging up in a machine shop where a welder accidentally (god only knows how though.) welded _through_ his phone, from the look of the melted remains look like he split it in half. How he didn’t notice, I’ll never know.
My google-fu is weak, or it’s not online, (ages ago in a local paper), but it would make an excellent companion fail.
I’d like to do that with my work laptop. I’m sick of work, Microsoft XP, and a slow 2 year old computer Alternative fantasy, taking a sledgehammer to it, or dropping it off at 20 story building.
or you can get a new computer and give the old one to some kid who is poor just like erase all ur stuff instal some things then donate it to a poor kid thats what i do with my old laptops
That may be better morally, but it sure isn’t anywhere near as fun as hitting an old computer with a sledgehammer. I actually did that once…
Heat gun fail, but destruction of outdated tech win!
Looks like the DPS registers at Circuit City… or any computer from Circuit City for that matter
good fail…..but whats with the cable from the keyboard. It is very near to it and its not burning….fail….double fail….xD
I set a soldering iron in an ashtray…was listening to music (loud)…..started stripping wires and smelled plastic burning….looked over in time to see iron and keyboard becoming one with each other….Moral of the story…..DO NOT solder when you’re high.
heat guns (and soldering irons etc.) get to well over 1000 degrees, so what do you think will happen if you aim one at plastic…(duh!?)
I’ve got a stack of those keyboards - they click when you type so you know if you pressed hard enough. Great but heavy as lead.
Did this with a heater and an old computer - child of less than 8 and left the heater and computer running to go and play with a friend. Apparently it was about 2mm away from touching the mother board and frying the comp.
Next time when your computer freezes; use that heal gun and show finger to the IT guy.
I work in IT. I had a user spill a vodka lemonade on her company laptop. She tried to use a hair dryer to dry the keyboard off and melted the keys until they were all curly.
Epic Fail.
