I’ve actually seen mothers do this. If the pacifier falls on the ground, the mom picks it up and puts it in her mouth before giving it back to the kid–I guess it’s a form of “the 5 second rule.” It’s still gross, though.

Actually, that’s a common parental mistake (pacifier falls on ground, so parent puts it in their mouth to “clean it”), since a parent’s mouth generally has a lot of germs that little ones aren’t prepared to handle.
So, fail for that.

FYI for all the people who obviously don’t know- when moms clean pacifiers off in their mouths- they usually don’t have it in there long enough to take their hand away.

I’ve done that before – either it fell or it’s a convenient place to hold it when baby doens’t want it for a second – cleaner than the diaper bag or a pocket.

Aren’t pacifiers used to consume drugs like XTC…
they are used to stop you chewing your mouth to pieces.
a lot of people get chewy when on “uppers” and will chew thier tongue, cheeks and lips. a pacifier gives them something else to chew on.
