I’m straight edge and not fascist or violent. Few of us are violent for no reason, if we fight is because we have been provoked. I have friends who drink and do drugs, i dont hate them, i just think that things are better when you keep them real. And moshing… that is just something you would never understand, maybe because you have never fought against anything in your life that kills your friends, and destroys theirs lifes, and still its cool and normal to everyone, moshing its just a release… there are so many things you dont uderstand
There is a difference between moshing and “hardcore dancing.” Moshing is pretty much just moving around a lot. Hardcore dancing, or (if you really knew what you preached) “slam dancing”, is kicking and punching the air (or a seizure), running your elbow into people, ramming people, or any other violent act you call “dancing.” Now you could be thinking of a circle pit where everybody runs around in circles. If someone falls down everyone stops to help the person back up, even if it’s an innocent on-looker.
Moshing is pathetic, why would you pay to see a band, and then fuck around like that. Really gets under my skin when I go to enjoy a band and you get that shit.

That must be why my friends cousin, when I was younger, was stabbed and KILLED by a straight edger. (They were involved in a fist fight and the Edger pulled out a knife and stabbed him mid-swing. Got him right in his heart, between his ribs.) They are violent, and angry for seemingly no reason and I’ve never seen one who wasn’t on that same bandwagon as the others.

there is nothing wrong with not drinking or consuming any kind of drugs. What is wrong is making it into a clique or a defining point of character to rally behind. By making it something more than a matter of personal and private choice, you politicize and aggravate everyone that doesn’t see things the same way you do.
Not doing drugs or drinking is cool, it’s a healthy and personal choice, you probably save some coin too…but being straight edge is more than just those choices, straight edge is group, it’s a cadre of people that try to enforce their worldview.
