actually the whole super violent edge stuff is perpetrated mostly by a group known as F.S.U. meaning Friends Stand United or F*ck Sh*t Up. The latter was the original name.
I like how everyone is saying ‘don’t label’ and yet you are obviously labeling this guy. And saying that drugs and drinking doesn’t cause societies problems…? Where the heck have you been the past decade? Are you 12? While they don’t cause all of them, how many robberies are committed so people can get money for drugs? How many lives have been killed by drivers driving under the influence?
The sad reality is that in today’s world, if you don’t belong to some group, you’re life is miserable. I’ve seen it happen. Kids will do anything to fit in, on either extreme of the spectrum. Maybe you should take a step back and look at yourself before you begin judging others.
That must be why my friends cousin, when I was younger, was stabbed and KILLED by a straight edger. (They were involved in a fist fight and the Edger pulled out a knife and stabbed him mid-swing. Got him right in his heart, between his ribs.) They are violent, and angry for seemingly no reason and I’ve never seen one who wasn’t on that same bandwagon as the others.
They need to take a big bong rip and chill out….

there is nothing wrong with not drinking or consuming any kind of drugs. What is wrong is making it into a clique or a defining point of character to rally behind. By making it something more than a matter of personal and private choice, you politicize and aggravate everyone that doesn’t see things the same way you do.
Not doing drugs or drinking is cool, it’s a healthy and personal choice, you probably save some coin too…but being straight edge is more than just those choices, straight edge is group, it’s a cadre of people that try to enforce their worldview.
Besides, most straight edge folks are reactionary bitches that cant stand a little bit of internet humor, so go back to your emo world of sobriety, and I’ll go back to my occasional and responsible drinking with friends, and I might even light up a joint while I’m at it. Go cry.

I’m straight edge and not fascist or violent. Few of us are violent for no reason, if we fight is because we have been provoked. I have friends who drink and do drugs, i dont hate them, i just think that things are better when you keep them real. And moshing… that is just something you would never understand, maybe because you have never fought against anything in your life that kills your friends, and destroys theirs lifes, and still its cool and normal to everyone, moshing its just a release… there are so many things you dont uderstand
There is a difference between moshing and “hardcore dancing.” Moshing is pretty much just moving around a lot. Hardcore dancing, or (if you really knew what you preached) “slam dancing”, is kicking and punching the air (or a seizure), running your elbow into people, ramming people, or any other violent act you call “dancing.” Now you could be thinking of a circle pit where everybody runs around in circles. If someone falls down everyone stops to help the person back up, even if it’s an innocent on-looker.
What you mean is a Moshpit.
Hardcore dancing and slam dancing were not created by straight edgers… They were started by hard core punk bands in the 80’s.

This is my friend Jacob. He was hit in the nose, by accident(and by another friend) while my band was playing. Completely an accident. Nothing to do with straight edge per se. The speculation is funny. It is amazing how people can argue with such fervor about a subject in which they have such limited knowledge. Does watching a National Geographic special make you some kind of expert? Or having a friend of a friends brothers little cousin who was tragically stabbed by someone who was supposedly straightedge?
