It’s fake – no shadows. One main picture (so cat doesn’t move) and then multiple exposures of the same badgers added afterwards. Neat effect though.

The flash is attached to the camera, so the shadows are on the other side of the badgers. That’s how flash photography works. Look at the shadow from the bird feeder.
Anyway, it’s clearly multiple exposures from a stationary camera overlayed in Photoshop. Whether or not that makes the fail a fail is subjective.
I don’t think anybody would believe this was real… that’s not the point. It’s a funny photoshop, THAT’S the point.
If that’s the case, then whoever did the job did it well. The moon in the background takes the cake.

If you had ever read the book series Warriors By Erin Hunter, especially book 5 of The New Prophecy, that is so ironic I can’t even say it.
I don’t see any shadows from the lighting/flash, badgers aren’t social animals, they’re solitary, and there would NOT be a cat sitting there, it’d either be the hell out of there or having the crap ripped out of it by a single badger, let alone an entire *squadron* of badgers. Fake, fake, fake.
