@ Leper: There is a Vancouver, WA AND a Vancouver, BC. The one in Washington was first but not too long after it was settled a bunch of residents from Vancouver, WA moved to Canada and called their new settlement by the same name.

A similar thing happened where I lived in Vancouver, WA, only they painted over a DEAD CROW. I called the city and the person on the phone sounded as appauled and surprised as I was. Within a day or two someone came out and removed the dead crow.

BFD, it was either go around or bash the sprayhead. That could be scraped back off and fixed in 2 minutes. Priorities win: Save the expensive equipment.

BTW, this is also a fairly common tactic of the tree-huggers. They plant something like that when the roads are being worked on, and time it so it can’t be avoided, as in, after the cleanup crew goes by to remove all that kind of crap. This way, you have the road crew looking like idiots, and they can use that to strengthen their position. I had a G/F that was an environmentalist, and had several “handbooks” regarding tactics like this.

Funny thing is, most of them really aren’t there for the environment, they just want the world to themselves: They don’t want motorcycless in the woods, just bicycles, and only use environmental issues to get their way. All in all, they’re just as big of slobs as anyone else, probably more so. I personally caught some “environmentalists” dumping trash in an area where a bunch of snowmobilers had been, to help then get the area closed to snowmobilers, only open to cross-country skiiers and dogsledders. Lame.

hmm not a fail on any part. the worker is just making sure he doesn’t destroy the fragile ecosystem that could be under or around that tree. dont you know that millions of bugs and animals are affected if that tree is moved. it could destroy the earth moving that tree could cause a reaction to have an animal have to go to another area to find a food source because the ones it ate are dead now because the worker moved the tree and killed its original source… you know where im going with this… fail to me for staying up so late when i have to work soon.
