I just moved into a duplex which is really nice and kept up, but it has the same exact design failure. In fact, pads have been put on the cabinet doors to soften potential blows to the lamp.
Some people tend to go in for furniture based on their perception of it inside the showroom. You should check it’s compatibility with the other items in your house too.
I hope one of my designs do not appear under that title of “interior design fail”, is such a mess… it happens when the person in charge of the measuring do not have the luminaries into consideration
Sometimes the beautiful things appears very depressing when it will not clearly photographed, any way its not looks horror but it will be looked nice by little changing, best of luck.
Fluorescent lights can be a real pain when set up in places that makes direct reflections off your PC or laptop. And obviously the light can also be blinding at times (literally!). This post is a fine example. We too have re-designed our office interiors to make them better from the perspective of lighting.
Another idiot buying an IKEA closer without measuring…
…you mean “closet”?
FAKE! The photo was taken before they replaced the lamp. Who’d like such a horrible lamp in living rooms anyway?
it’s a university dorm room
@ #3 – Doofus, there’s no way that’s a living room. Try basement or garage or shop. Duh.
Actually, that lookes like it could be a dorm room, and I have seen shoddy craftsmanship in dorm rooms before.
I think it’s cute.

Stupid workers did something like that in my garage i couldn’t open the garage door.
looks like military living quaters
Quarters, not quaters.
All they have to do is cut the bulb down to size. Gee wiz.
We smashed a light in our house on a walkthrough and made them change it immediately. Broken glass was all over the place
it was probably in a dorm…been there…done that…
