Fact is, these two tattoos are probably based on mass-distributed flash (i.e. the tattoo art you see on the walls at a tattoo shop). Probably different artists at different shops. Not copied from one-another, but from a stock design, adjusted according to the client’s wishes and artist’s skill.

The details for the one on the left are a little too fine and sharp for me to believe it’s a tattoo. Unlike some people, I’m not oging to state definitely because I honestly do not know the person or people whose calves are shown in the two photographs.

I think the one on the left is paint, the one on the right is an actual tattoo. It’s likely that both are the same person. Essentially taking the same design and making it permenant after the paint has worn off.

Actually the original artist (one on left) is JOE CAPOBIANCO…he was on miami ink for a few weeks a long time ago and was a very well known artist before his stint on the show.

for the record, the original tattoo was done by joe cappobianco who is an extremely well respected tattoo artist who’s yearly income is higher than any of you can probably count sooo… HATERS FAIL.

Anyone who gets a tattoo needs to know the artist- if you get a shite tat from an artist it’s your own fault for not doing the research. Just because some hack puts a tattoo sign outside and owns a machine doesn’t mean he knows the 1st thing about tattooing. Its up to you to make sure he is competent- and if I had seen ANY of this guy’s work I would have been able to say he was a HACK. Chalk this up to 2 things- unoriginal tattoo idea fail, and tattooist blind-faith fail.. no way he coulda paid the $500-600 MINIMUM this tattoo was worth- speaking as a former tattooist, I would venture another fail involved in this travesty- the ‘I don’t want to pay for what the work is ACTUALLY WORTH from a COMPETENT artist so I’ll shop around’ fail.. the industry is full of these idiots- in fact, it THRIVES off of them…

In defense of the “white trash” with tats, I have two, and the last thing I would think of myself as is white trash. My husband is a soldier who works very hard for the money he brings home and who served in both the Gulf War and the current war in Iraq. In honor of him, I got a camouflage heart on my thigh, just for him. My other tat is on my hip of a fox that my childhood best friend drew for me when she was thirteen. She was killed by a drunk driver two years later. Both tats are in places never seen by the general public and have special meaning to me. Call me white trash if you’d like, but I will never regret my tats.

The one on the left is gorgeous, looks like a Jime Litwalk piece? As for the crap-ass one.. Honestly I think the dipshit deserves to have that monstrosity on them for the rest of their life, a) for not going to a reputable artist probably because they thought they’d save a few bucks, and b) FOR BEING SCUMBAG ENOUGH TO FLAT-OUT COPY SOMEONE ELSE’S TATTOO.

Sometimes it just doesn’t come out the way you want it. For example, my first tattoo I got done I still look at and love because it’s exactly the way I personally designed it. My second tattoo was done by the same “artist” and despite my lengthy conversation with him to make sure he could successfully replicate the design given to him, it turned out completely wrong and I’m paying to get it removed (perhaps I should make HIM pay). Same artist, two completely different results.

It could be both the artists worked from the same flash, but it’s obvious which one should start taking the warning on his medication seriously. Also there is the possibility the person on the right just wanted that retro my-tattoo-artist-and-I-was-playing-this-drinking-game feel to it. I’m a tattoo- artist myself, and believe me, I’ve seen much worse (ok not much, but still)

Henna is a natural pigment and it doesn’t sit above the skin…it actually stains the skin (so it isn’t just wash-off), and since it’s natural(coming from the henna plant), it only comes in colors varying from brown to reddish brown.
So…this one being discussed is probably a real tattoo, maybe not…but it’s absolutely not henna.
