I agree, engineering win. If I saw that I would wait for the owner to come back just to tell them how awesome it looks…. Imagine, all four wheels like that…. Car design win.
I know what your talking about but this isn’t it. Those brackets have a swept back design so that they automatically turn wherever the main mass is moving to, they also have two peices where they mount to the car to allow them to spin 360. This is mounted direct to the axel and has straight brackets. It is jury rigging at a level I hope to someday master.
Only felt the need to add this as people latched on to what you said as a fact rather than sarcasm. And dagnabbit those people on the internet always need to be told when their wrong.
The only ones failing here are people commenting. Like Buczas wrote the “shopping cart wheels” are attached to the FWD car, to make car unstable, and simulate driving on slippery surfaces, where back slides and you can only controll the car with front wheels, and the throttle. It’s an advanced driving learning, but hey: how would the americans with their idiotproof straight-only roads know about it…
This one’s from Jalopnik.com
this guy is my hero
Creativity Win!!
when your auto manufacturer contracts out to fisher-price for accessories, it’s time to upgrade.
/just found this blog

thats not an airplane wheel?
It looks like a bike wheel
its a shopping cart wheel..
itsa win they have a giant shopping cart…or an indoor shopping cart for those rainy days
It would actually be cool if this was an aircraft landing gear.
I tell you, you never see full-size spare tires anymore.
I hope I never see this in real life.
it’s the automobile equivalent of a peg leg.
please consider posting my failpiss

Fail? That took a lot of ingenuity — and it’s awesome.

I just want to know why someone with that much time didn’t just get a proper wheel?
Maybe he didn’t have a spare and had to get to the tire place and that was the only way. Or he stole that, but didn’t manage to steal a tire.
…until it comes across a pebble or some loose sand.
As Ralph Nader would say “that would be unsafe at any speed.” Then he’d say “vote for me.”

Had a rental once with a 12″ wheel and the tire had about the same tread width as the photo. Scared to death on the highway.
[Failpiss] That’s not fail. That’s just you being an IDIOT.
No DIMWIT Pervo! You suck! And Ed, you’re the IDIOT!
not a fail, that’s pretty creative.
Hunter also believed he was his g/f’s first.
Wow, that is original. Originality fail
No one has pointed out the makeshift seatbelts…Made from chain!
I saw lots of cars in India that had that same spare.
that’s an ‘upgrade’ for practicing driving on a slippery surface (ice). They act like shopcart’s wheels, thus simulate a skid.

DAMN!! spelling fail (Spail???) their = they’re
This one only proves that german cars are way too much high-tech for americans.
if only hi-tech was a countable noun…
seat belt fail?
Buczas is right, they are used to simulate skidding on ice.
I think this fail would be illegal. Why didn’t the police “get” him for this. Maybe a her, too.
That’s got to be outside the load rating and speed rating of that tyre.

Have you ever been to the west coast of america? Ever heard of San Fransisco? How about Astoria? YOU FAIL!
Or Upstate New York, for that matter – particularly around the Catskill and Adirondack Mountain region (which is where I live, BTW.)
Most Americans do suck at driving, but not all.
FAILUUUUUUUUUUUUURE
That as said, is a Skid Control driving vehicle.
In many parts of the Northern USA and Canada, driving schools are required to have access (Either own or rent) to those types of vehicles.
it’s a handicapped car! similar to a prosthetic leg.
Does MacGyver drive that car?
all the cars wheels are like that….you just dont see them
It’s not failed! It’s for training how to drive on ice. There are courses with such cars in Poland.
Shrunk in the car wash??? =p
WIN.
They always have that one bad wheel, I’m telling you.
LAWL
Thank god it’s not RWD
Oo, look, I’m trying to do a wheelie.
Tweakers…
Or is it tweekers… … … crankheads….
UNFAILED by Mylar for initiative. Probably the wheel off an industrial trolley.
this is a win! what a great, creative thing to do.
Stupid. It’s special wheel to learn ride on a ice….
GENIOUS!
really? thats one messed up spare tire…
this is no fail!!! it is just very smart!!!
this is failing at its best!
