Jets can experience high G-forces in tight turns, but they are acted upon vertically, as opposed to the horizontal G-force experienced in acceleration and deceleration. Therefore the missile and the missile rails would be built to take regular 6-9 G turns, but not necessarily high G deceleration, as that is only experienced on aircraft carriers or in a crash. As for the smoke, I believe the most plausible explanation is the fins scraping the deck, as 1) If the smoke was nitrogen, which, if Navy Fail's above post is correct, is released after launch but prior to the rocket ignition, then the missile must have been launched. It hasn't (see above posts for justification).
