Its a reference to the ad in the background. “Götterdämmerung” means “twilight of the gods” and “jemandem dämmert etwas” means “something begins to dawn on somebody”
Marc, “Götterdämmerung” is a German word. (cf. http://www.dict.cc/?s=goetterdaemmerung)
That’s the ad. The smaller line below says: “The new Lexus RX(?)3000 which seems to be the car’s name.
And I somehow even failed at getting the comment I failed at replying to Marc’s comment being posted at all.
And I now failed at understanding the sentence I wrote.
I hope you realized that you failed by not posting your fail about posting your fail under the orginal fail of a fail.
I’m sorry, but I have to.
Epic Fail.
Götterdämmerung is an opera that is performed rather frequently in europe, and was written by Richard Wagner. Its actually one opera of a set of 4 operas that are meant to be performed in sequence with one another, forming one long 24 hour opera. The whole cycle is known as “The Ring Cycle” in english, but is called “Der Ring des Nibelungen” in german. The whole cycle is played every year in germany.
Frankly, I have no idea what that has to do with the car, but it would make sense for the opera to be advertised on the side of an opera house.
Lexus is the biggest sponsor of the Vienna Stat Opera, hence the the reference. That pic is quite old though…I FAIL at remembering when that part of the opera was being renovated
i like him. 555+
Ausfallen!!!
Does Lexus actually sell a car called the “Gotterdammurung”? Because that would be like the best name ever.
I guess the picture was taken in Germany.
Das Foto ist halt in Deutschland gemacht worden.
-.-
The building in the background is the “Staatsoper” in Vienna (Austria)

the best comments have to be the ones where people spot random stuff in the background!
With all that space how did he even manage to hit the pole!?
He was probably smiling for the pic.
Lay off the pot mark.
That’s the Opera house in Vienna.

If it’s an Austrian, where is the fail then?
being Austrian is teh fail.
STFU !
What’s on the top of that building? They look like giant flies!
It’s your mother!
Theyre statues of horsemen
I love this one. Perfect timing on the photograph.
The things on top of the building are men on horseback.

What does a new Lexus car have to do with the twilight of the gods? The beginning of a model year, the end of the world?
