I consider the Air Force to be part of the army; most people, like me (evidently erroneously) believe “army” is synonymous with “military”. Does the army only contain infantry?
well now youve both failed the Army is a completely diffrent branch from the Airforce. The army is also much more than just infantry and armor it covers every part of war from front lines to support.
The Army has aircraft such as helicopter transports and gunboats and assault planes like the Warthog and the C-130 Hercules Gunship.
The Army has infantry as well as fighting vehicles and personal carriers all with Tank unit support. Not to mention Artillery.
The Army also has a large Naval force of small vessels such as transports and patrol craft.
The Army has its hand in every element of warfare. However they tend to keep them more separate than the Marines who regularly integrate their various types of forces in tandem operations.
Also: The term “Front lines” includes armour and vehicular support as well as helicopter sorties.
Fail. Airforce E3. I know the kid. It was obviously a joke. He is marksman on the M16. For those that don’t know… thats Sadam’s old palace in Baghdad. Down the road is his “Victory over America” palace. So, i guess thats what… 5 Fails? The picture, Sadam, Sadam’s Palace, Calling this ‘Army Fail’, Saying he is Navy.
you must be dumb. if you claim you do signal support, you must be army as well. and you fail to recognize the difference of insignias for the different branches of service. he is air force because he has 2 stripes with a star in the middle, therefore he is an air force airman first class. FAIL
I could have told you that. My father was in Military for a while and then went into Air Force. Now he works for General Dynamics in Virginia, they develop some weapon designs and such and do a lot of tactics.
ok, im gonna clear this up right now. he has an m16a4 so obviosly hes in the army. hes a grunt, nothing more nothing less. the marines use th m4a1, airforce uses mp5 for craft as emergncy pdw, and i really dont care what the navy uses. and thats it.
You are my hero… after reading all the comments on his rank, you judge his affilliation by the weapon type. High five! I would go into all the different reasons on why you’re an idiot, but I am sure id make several spelling errors (if i haven’t already) and be a fail myself.
Contains infantry, vehicles, ground based anti-aircraft solutions and ground support aircraft (like transports, helicopter gunships and even some anti-tank attack aircraft.)
Ok…back in the day it was ArmyAirCorps…then the name was changed or divided…Army as an entity unto itself and also AirForce. My dad WWII was in the ARMY AIR Corp – but when his stripes were given to him (sometime from when he first enlisted to…) he was AirForce. He loved the AirForce and he was a Master Sargent…taught electronics…So, I suppose you could say at one time Army and AirForce were one…sorry guys….
:>))
Stfu, people have to have SOME fun. Of course your version of fun is saying everyone fails for posting here. Which is funny because you post here to so FAIL! Anyway McDouche (stupid name by the way) Try thinking before you act ‘eh?
WtF? Bending? I see an ammo pouch on the buttstock like the one I had in Afghanistan, but I don’t see anything bending. I guess if you’ve never actually seen an M16 you might get the impression that its bending…
for doing dumb shit like that, he (in addition to not properly clearing his weapon) he would deserve to loose a toe, in the case of an ‘accidental’ discharge…
It’s a funny picture let’s leave it at that, im very sorry if the pic says army fail but oddly when people see someone in camos and holding a gun in an infantry capacity then they’re going to assume army. It’s nice if yous erved with the unit and know yourself hes an airman but without any noteable isignia we arent to fucking know are we?
Look at the fucking rank on his shoulder; they’re wings, not a chevron and rocker. You don’t have to know him to know he’s Air Force, you just have to not be a dumbass.
People seriously have to point out that he’s not in the Army? Most people would not be able to tell the difference. If you really feel that strongly about it, feel free to correct people but don’t be rude about it.
No one’s being rude. He has 2 stripes on his sleeve with a star in the middle. Only the Air force wears enlisted insignia on sleeves in battle uniforms. Also, he’s wearing the old Army Desert Combat Uniform, the majority of the Army has moved on to the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). Marines wear their distinct marine-pattern (marpat)digi-cammies, and Sailors wear either DCU’s or marpat.
It’s a pet peeve of service members to be misidentified as someone from another branch.
Right on, ehud… although I was quite disenfranchised when the Army and the Air Force decided to follow suit and develop a digital style for themselves. Marines were the first with the digital utility uniform, circa 2002 (it just took several years to outfit everyone and that’s why some of the first Marines to see combat in Iraq in 2003 have the old “analog” cammies on).
Just out of curiosity, why is this a FAIL when it is clear the guy is goofing around? I thought a fail was when someone wrecked their vehicle in a spectacular manner or something?
I liked how the guy earlier said “Dumbass. That is an Air Force Airman, E-2, not Army.” When its an E-3 Airman First Class. The trick is its the number of stripes plus one.
Airman Basic is no stripe
Then Airman is one stripe
Airman First Class is two stripes
Senior Airman is three stripes.
And then you go onto your NCO ranks… Staff Sgt., Tech. Sgt., Master Sgt, Senior Master Sgt., and Chief Master Sgt.
While he might be messing around, it’s also possible that he is simply changing to the “strong side muzzle down” carry. In order to do that, you hold the parade sling in your right and and pull it taught, then with your left hand on the hand guards, muzzle pointing down, you bring your left arm across your body and put the rifle behind your back. You could possibly think of it as being similar to carrying a purse. All you have to do next is bring your right arm in closer to the side of your body and just hold the rifle by your sling. Strong side muzzle down is most often used when it is raining or when other debris could get into your rifle through the barrel.
Who cares who he is or if hes marines or army or airforce, Hes clearly a douche, like its clearly NOT a bow… And even if the gun could duplicate as a bow, he still has no arrows, so hes just an idiot…
Funny idiot though
*facepalm* Really? You’re really that stupid? I must say, I congratulate you on avoiding the effects of natural selection for as long as you have. That’s quite the good luck streak you’ve got going on there…
Okay, here’s the deal. The dude is AIRFORCE, can’t you tell by the rank on his sleeve. Silly civilians, learn the difference. But the Airforce just cary the weapons, they have no ammo issued to them, trust, I’ve been there and seen them (note I’m Army, not Airforce). But the short of the story is the Airforce has nothing but time to play around with ammo-less weapons.
being in the air force and doing two tours in iraq in lieu of (because the army can’t fill their own taskings and the air force wants to be the army) i can tell you that we are issued ammo. all the way from 5.56 to 50 cal to mark 19. who does the army call when they are getting ran over by the enemy? oh yeah, the air force.
oh and you’re a stupid fobbit. if you ever left your fob when you were there, you would know that weapons are cleared when you come back through the gate. that’s why you see the air force (and everybody else) walking around without their weapons loaded.
Oh wow, are we really arguing about this i honestly dont see the fail! The weapon is obviously cleared as there is no magazine, and anybody who knows anything about military lfe would know there are only two states a weapon can be in green and red. No mag=green(cleared and safe). Oh and he looks to be attempting to shoulder holster the weapon.
Epic fail. If you call a weapon safe because it has no mag, you’ve just neglected the first weapons safety rule. Even if it doesn’t have a round in the chamber: “Treat every weapon as if it were loaded”.
*facepalm*
I dont even know how to address this…
yeah, we can see there isn’t a magazine in there, but we can’t even see the ejection port, let alone the chamber, so we have no business stating that the weapon is cleared.
and, well, maybe green and red works for the airforce, but i learned at least 4 weapon conditions…
and, as was already stated, irregardless of condition, he is still violating at least 2 safety rules (treat every weapon as if loaded, and never point at something you do not intend to destroy/kill)
St33v if you are intending that to be an insult then you are a homophobe and a epoch fial at life, if you are lucky you’ll life will matter half as much as anyone who has had the decency to serve the United States and it’s armed forces.
No you are right Lunchmeat the US military never freed Europe and South-East Asia from decades of oppression (sarcasm). Sure there have been some major fuck ups on the way most notably Viet-Nam and the war in Iraq but one must recognize for all the wrongs the US military have perpetrated they have done many more good things for humanity as a whole. One could not possibly argue that the world would be better if the United States had not intervened in Europe, had not laid waste to Japanese tyranny and aide in the collapse of the Iron Curtain that enslaved millions of Eastern Europeans to the shackles of Soviet Russia. One could no doubt argue that Iraqis would better off with out five years of war and strife, but one cannot forget that Saddam Hussein was a cruel and at least a segment of the population (the Kurds) can live in relative peace and prosper. Honestly how can one say the US military has done more harm than good, I know there will always be those who do and frankly that astounds me.
insert a loaded magazine
hit it to make sure its inserted
pull the charging handle, release
hit the forward assist
aim at your target
set the fire selector lever to fire
pull the trigger
(for the m16, slight variations for other weapons…)
Terribly wrong. His back isn’t straight, he’s leaning into the shot, and he’s drawing without a loaded arrow. Even a novice archer shouldn’t make those mistakes.
Archery FTW.
Shoot-yourself-in-the-foot ftl.
There’s no magazine in the gun, so he probably won’t shoot himself in the foot, unless there is a bullet in the chamber. o.O
Such a situation would also require his finger to be on or near the trigger.
Epic fail: He STILL manages to shoot himself in the foot.
his foot moves qwiclklyer than the bullet and it doesnt get shot, but then
ricochets and gets his nuts
isnt he trying 2 use it as a bow??
his foot ricochets and gets his nuts? cool
when you got no bullets what else do you do?
Unless there was somehow two bullets in the chamber and one deteriorated and fired the other one into his foot.
THATS WHAT SHE SAID
I don’t get that one
looks like someone cuaht him tossin his firearm strap over the shoulder so he can carry it.
ARMED FORCES FTW!
“Oh no, they’re shooting at us!…WTF a flying gun.”
Its actually air force so that explains it all. SEMPER FI DEVIL DOGS!!!!
Semper Fi is the motto for the Marines.
Wow…YOU FAIL!
Umm, why is it an Army fail when the guy is Air Force?
I consider the Air Force to be part of the army; most people, like me (evidently erroneously) believe “army” is synonymous with “military”. Does the army only contain infantry?
Yes, the “Army” is the basic infantry branch of the Military. Of course, they get tanks, so it’s really more of an infantry/armor branch
well now youve both failed the Army is a completely diffrent branch from the Airforce. The army is also much more than just infantry and armor it covers every part of war from front lines to support.
Front lines=infantry, fail.
“from front lines to support”=not just infantry, dumbass. Fail.
Nah ftw.
“The Army also has a large Naval force”
Naval = Navy, right?
MILITARY DESIGNATION FAIL
I have a large navel
Naval=of or pertaining to warships, civilian ships, a navy, or possessing a navy.
Navy=body of warships belonging to a country
WORD DEFINITION COMPREHENSION FAIL
C-130 and the A-10 are air force get your facts right smart one.
The Army does have their own C-130’s.
The Army has aircraft such as helicopter transports and gunboats and assault planes like the Warthog and the C-130 Hercules Gunship.
i didnt know gunboats were aircraft?
You all fail, Army does more than just infantry.
I do signal support.
This is a Navy uniform, not AirForce.
…?
Wouldn’t the wings on his sleeve seem to indicate otherwise?
navy airman using a larger gun than a pistol for the first time
Fail. Airforce E3. I know the kid. It was obviously a joke. He is marksman on the M16. For those that don’t know… thats Sadam’s old palace in Baghdad. Talking about something we give a shit about = fail
Then, enlighten us as to why you have read comments halfway down the page, and then submitted your own?
GD does the training for the army’s 25N classes also… im a 25N
ok, im gonna clear this up right now. he has an m16a4 so obviosly hes in the army. hes a grunt, nothing more nothing less. the marines use th m4a1, airforce uses mp5 for craft as emergncy pdw, and i really dont care what the navy uses. and thats it.
You are my hero… after reading all the comments on his rank, you judge his affilliation by the weapon type. High five! I would go into all the different reasons on why you’re an idiot, but I am sure id make several spelling errors (if i haven’t already) and be a fail myself.
wtb smarter people.
You’re my hero too, especially if you can tell if that M16’s upper receiver has a picatinny rail in that picture.
the army and the airforce are two seperate branches
gee really? didn’t bother to read the last dozen comments did you?
Fail, Air Force is no longer the Army Air Corps it is its own separate branch, no longer connected to the Army, get your facts right
We get it.
GEEZ all you idiots…
ARMY = Ground forces and ground support
Contains infantry, vehicles, ground based anti-aircraft solutions and ground support aircraft (like transports, helicopter gunships and even some anti-tank attack aircraft.)
The end
Ok…back in the day it was ArmyAirCorps…then the name was changed or divided…Army as an entity unto itself and also AirForce. My dad WWII was in the ARMY AIR Corp – but when his stripes were given to him (sometime from when he first enlisted to…) he was AirForce. Good point. Dont forget the Marines!!! *making a fool out of myself*
ya your cool lets alll be impressed this guy knows the airforce uniform- go piss someone else off with you social/political correctness.
Social/political correctness is a new way of condescendingly condemning the pursuit of “facts” huh?
Man, those inconvenient facts.
Oh, the army has air capabilities. They do have helicopters.
You all faill. It’s like a bunch of blind kids arguing over what a rainbow looks like.
yea thats what i was going to say
No it wasn’t, don’t you lie to us.
Gotta resort to archery cuz there is no magazine in the rifle.
Double fail…no arrow.
I see that he doesn’t have an arrow, but…
What’s the other fail?
Take a moment to think before you try to answer that.
There is no other fail.
theres a pool in the background lol
All of you who say “photoshop” or complain about these… you suck at life and are the largest fail. Enjoy it or move along.
Shopped…I can tell by the pixels, I’ve seen many shops in my day
You all fail for posting here.
Stfu, people have to have SOME fun. Of course your version of fun is saying everyone fails for posting here. Which is funny because you post here to so FAIL! Anyway McDouche (stupid name by the way) Try thinking before you act ‘eh?

Thank you, killsceptics, I couldn’t have put it better myself.
You’re avatar is a fail
your*
FAIL
Fukc you
Dumbass. That is an Air Force Airman, E-2, not Army.
Speaking of people who suck at life. Two stripes means he is an E-3. Airmen First Class. YOU FAIL!
Not to mention, if you look close it looks like the gun is bending, it might be rubber. I could be wrong though.
its true!
Or it could just be the way the gun was made.
the stock on the m-16 shouldn’t bend like that ever
WtF? Bending? I see an ammo pouch on the buttstock like the one I had in Afghanistan, but I don’t see anything bending. I guess if you’ve never actually seen an M16 you might get the impression that its bending…
Thank you, that’s what I said!
Failblog FAIL
That’s an Air Force e-3, or Airman First Class. That is at Saddam’s Al-Faw River Palace. The whole thing is marble, it’s great.
For a triple fail, he could shoot himself in the toe, too
I, having faith in my nation’s airmen, would assume that the a1c assured the weapon was safe and clear before this wonderful photo op. Go Fred Bear.
I thought no one else would spot that! ty for being smart:)
accualy no he couldnt, theres no ammunition :p
Could be one in the chamber.
for doing dumb shit like that, he (in addition to not properly clearing his weapon) he would deserve to loose a toe, in the case of an ‘accidental’ discharge…
No such thing as an “accidental discharge.” The term from my tours in Iraq became known as “negligent discharge.”
It could be that there is a pool in the background because he is at gunners palace.
Yeah, Air Force… BTW, that was my old unit in gunner palace…
omg…..who cares, its still hilarious!
It’s a funny picture let’s leave it at that, im very sorry if the pic says army fail but oddly when people see someone in camos and holding a gun in an infantry capacity then they’re going to assume army. That’s being rude. The majority of people aren’t going to know the difference between a DCU and an ACU.
LOL
Just out of curiosity, why is this a FAIL when it is clear the guy is goofing around? I thought a fail was when someone wrecked their vehicle in a spectacular manner or something?
Just asking.
It’s because the greater majority of these people are liberals.
Just a thought :l
apparently whatever branch of the military (airforce, according to the above posts) FAILed to train him how to use a rifle properly…
Robin Hood, Robin Hood , riding through the glen..
It’s true, the guy is just messing around, it’s hardly a fail.
Joke fail
The signail to noise ratio could be higher here, just sayin’.
He probably was just screwing around

green-no magazine, no round chambered
amber-magazine inserted, no round chambered
red-magazine inserted, round chambered

aim at your target
set the fire selector lever to fire
pull the trigger
(for the m16, slight variations for other weapons…)

Is that bobkewitz?
Ran out of bullets…

Suppose it’s not a fail and he was just getting ready to put it on?
archery fail.
Archery. you’re doing it wrong.
Terribly wrong. His back isn’t straight, he’s leaning into the shot, and he’s drawing without a loaded arrow. Even a novice archer shouldn’t make those mistakes.
Oh, wait….
Military fail. the military doesn’t train th idiots.
In the words of Captain Price in Call of Duty 4:
“How’d a muppet like you get past selection?”
LOL

Oh those silly Americans, they must not have much entertainment over there.

How is this a fail?
There’s no magazine.
Secondly, he’s trying to be funny, and I thought it was pretty epic, because I’ve never thought about that…
Actually that guy is airforce. It just goes to show that you send a pilot to do a soldiers job!
Maybe hes ajusting the length of the strap? Or testing to see if it will hold when he puts it on? This is iether a joke or an unfortunate lookalike.
that’s a marine.
That’s Airforce son.
ummmmmm. FAIL
why is this even a fail? hes just messing around.
