No, not the same thing. Communism is “everybody owns everything” and has never worked. You’ll find that Korea is Socialist which is “The state owns everything, including you” and Fascism is that the One Party political system, like Germany, Italy and Japan in WW2, which was very opposed to Socialism.

Atchualy, while it I a common misconseption, the war, officialy, is not over. There was a siese-fire, and it has not been called off yet. A peace treaty was never signed. We are just in the longest siese-fire in history. The war is still on, but no one is shooting.

My Boyfriend used to live in South Korea, but he could tell you about the shit that goes on between North and South Korea. The kids in the school actually have war and bomb drills.

I do believe South Korea is “a tad” more developed than North Korea, but I don’t think that this picture is representative in that sense.

Kim Il-sung, president of NK, was declared dead by physicians on 8th of july, 1994. However, he is officially a deity, and so he really never died, therefore he hasn’t left office, and so, officially, General Kim Jong-il, the president-god’s son, is merely General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defense Commission, taking care of the country until the Eternal President returns.

Every household in NK is equipped with a government-controlled radio. The government decides when this radio is used, and for what, by controlling them remotely.

NK civillians are not allowed to own an automobile of any sort, that is the domain of the military.

In the late ’90′s, the NK people were finally told that Elvis had permenately left the building.

Kim Jong-il is an active golfer, and state media reports that he routinely hits 3-4 hole-in-ones per round (the odds of hitting one single hole-in-one is, per one round, 5000 to 1).

Kim Jong-il has written six operas and refers to himself as an internet expert.

The official biography of Kim Jong-il states that his birth was heralded by a swallow, and that when the birth took place, a double rainbow appeared on the sky, and a new star was to be seen in the heavens.

To sum it up: No, I don’t think that this picture is representative of NK’s electrical development, but rather an example of simon says. Kim Jong-il says good night, and then hits the light for you.
