  1. Anonymous says:

i fail to see the fail in this one

  2. Anonymous says:

Well, how do you think the van will get out of there? :-)

  3. Anonymous says:

So they just put in those posts? I think that’s what’s missing here.
I’ve seen plenty of posts that can be removed temporarily, so it wasn’t all that obvious, IMO.

    • Wormulon says:

yeah, but can clearly see the CEMENT at the bottom of the posts. posts that can be removed are not usually cemented into place….

      FAIL

  4. Anonymous says:

    I LOL’d.

  5. Balu says:

Those posts can be removed easily, clearly not FAILed.

  6. Anonymous says:

I don’t think concreted in posts qualify as “temporary”. The clue is the bag of cement by the van.

    • Louis says:

Ive seen these posts in town
They have a padlock that when removed alows the post to be pulled straight out…

Wouldnt the bags of cememnt be for re-laying the paving flags after installing the posts ?

    • Andrew says:

Looks more like sand or some grout type of product rather than concrete.

      • Jim says:

True. That is a sand product that I’ve used. You put it down in between the pavers, shake it down, which they, for some reason, are not doing, then spray it with a hose to make it all solid! Very simple and fairly cheap way to go.

  7. Anonymous says:

the van looks narrow enough to fit between the posts

  8. Anonymous says:

Count the paving slabs, The van is 4 wide approx, the posts have 3 slabs gap between them.

    • Christopher7xii says:

Actually there are 3 slabs between them, plus about a third of a slab that they’re on. So you’re looking at 3.7′ish slabs of space, about the same as the van. Pretty sure that van could maneuver out. It’s a fail because the person who took the pic can’t tell the difference.

  9. Anonymous says:

This is clearly not a fail – they are cementing the posts in place to stop anyone from stealing the van.

    Win!

  10. Clint says:

I suppose its also a “fail” that 3 million of them starved to death 10 years ago or that disgusting atrocities happen every day in that country. Would it also be a “fail” that soldiers violently rape and murder people’s daughters and wives? Contrary to popular belief, its completely acceptable to not find everything humorous.

  11. A Nonny Mus says:

This post is FAIL for sure.

  12. Anonymous says:

3 million people with vans spreading concrete starved to death 10 years ago?

  13. FPB says:

yep, happens every summer in ol’ london town. it’s how we deal with the influx of workers from e europe…what’s clint on about?

    fpb

    http://www.pastapaulie.wordpress.com

  14. Belinda says:

what the hell is Clint talking about?

  15. Anonymous says:

What I like is that from that vantage, I bet they were being watched the whole time they were doing this and no one went downstairs and told them!

  16. Homer says:

Clint commented on the wrong fail. He wanted the Korea one. Mark that : Clint Fail

  17. Kingfisher says:

LOL :D .. this one is definitely not a FAIL thing… Look at the width of the van an the two posts which are closest to the guy who taken the picture.. the will easily pull out from there… somebody who think this one is fail has FAILED :D LOL

  18. Jamey says:

    Clint = FAIL!

    Liu-Kang: Flawless victory!

  19. Jamey says:

Shouldn’t we caption this one, “get out of FAIL card”?

  20. [...] Posted on February 19, 2008 by brahnamin it took me a minute to figure THIS one out. bloody [...]

  21. Anonymous says:

I photoshopped it …. The van can make it out …

    Fail … not

  22. Anonymous says:

    You fail at perspective..
the van is farther than the posts so photoshoping won’t help you here.. only counting the tiles as someone above suggested will give you the answer to the fail question.

  23. byknight says:

In any case this kind of post (er… the traffic posts, not the blog) are usually removable for access by emergency vehicles. It would make sense that the workmen have them up and not risk getting run over by some filed driver, while they are working.

But a funny idea anyway! Ci non ‘e vero.. ‘e ben trovatto (“If intrue, it’s still well found”)

Good try and the other pictures are very appropriate!

    :) Q

  24. Clint = comment fail says:

    LOLZ AT T3H N00BZ

  25. Lazlo Toth says:

    Nobody checked Snopes.

    Always check Snopes.

    http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/bollards.asp

    N00B FAIL

  26. byknight says:

Snopes! Of course, wonder why I didn’t think of Snopes. Patent rmovable bollards. Duh

  27. Anonymous says:

Sorry but this fail is a fake…
the last post on the right is a copy of one of the other.
    Photoshop greetz

  28. hehe says:

for this ppl that dont know there would be a post that has a lock on it so they can remove it so its not a fail

  29. Rabbit says:

”I suppose its also a “fail” that 3 million of them starved to death 10 years ago or that disgusting atrocities happen every day in that country. Would it also be a “fail” that soldiers violently rape and murder people’s daughters and wives? Contrary to popular belief, its completely acceptable to not find everything humorous.” Bigest fail ive ever seen.

  30. betaboy says:

Omg nabs. They can just pull those up, very simple.

    Its like a screw, :p

  31. Anonymous says:

it is a fail because they are putting lime on the ground after scooping up the mess of someone becoming an hero when they couldnt get their van out past the bollards

  32. Anonymous says:

Hey Betaboy, if you’re going to call someone a noob, at least spell it right…”Nab”

  33. Anon says:

The posts lock upright and can be made to lie flat to allow vehicles to pass.

  34. Anonymous says:

    bollards

  35. Anonymous says:

Your “Fail” Failed! The person who posted this failed too!

  36. jon says:

the van will fit between those posts but you’d need to keep it straight

  37. cosmo says:

    Jon – fail
As pointed out a few times, the van is wider than the gap – count the slabs.

“In any case this kind of post (er… the traffic posts, not the blog) are usually removable for access by emergency vehicles. It would make sense that the workmen have them up and not risk getting run over by some filed driver, while they are working.” Would like to see larger version of pic to confirm that these bollards (which are usually cemented in) are collapsible(sp?)/removable. And why would they place removable bollards that close to a building in what looks to be a plaza/pedestrianised area? THese buildings probably have goods in areas at rear.

  38. Anonymous says:

    Worst. Internet Discussion. EVar.

  39. twosheds says:

    god old british workmanship,lol

  40. Anonymous says:

The post closet to the building and the camera was Photoshopped in. Someone copied it and placed it there. You can tell by the distortions around the base. The other posts ar set in square tiles, but that one is just a blur. It wasn’t there when the photo was taken and they were going to set it in cement after moving the van.

  41. Anonymous says:

the van can fit through the two at the bottum

  42. txperson says:

This isn’t actually a fail. Snopes reported on it: http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/bollards.asp

  43. Anonymous says:

Hey smart guys, its grout and the posts are removable..

  44. mike moon says:

WHY would someone photoshop this, oh photoshop trolls? this is my first visit to this site, and i’ve read about 50 photoshop accusations. YES, a bunch are, but usually they are still funny.

I just can’t imagine someone photoshopping some ordinary picture of a couple dudes putting in posts. like there’s this huge consortium of photoshoppers modding random pictures to try and trick you into laughing, right?

    photoshop accusers: logic fail

    • Coolidge says:

False. It’s clearly all photoshopped: the workmen, the posts, the van and the buildings. Twas originally a photo of those four letters in the top right hand corner…

  45. Anonymous says:

This was actually taken near where I live.
Its near the hospital they were putting up the posts to stop cars from continually parking there, so obviously they not going to make the posts wide enough for a van to fit through.

  46. LOL. says:

    I get it!
They have the posts there to tie rope around to keep people from getting in, but they used the cones. xD

    EVERYONE ELSE FAILS.

  47. fuk it everything is photoshop says:

no photo shop guy ?? no one to say this also was photoshoped ??

  48. Guiseppi says:

The van can obviously fit through those posts. It would just require a lot of precision.

  49. not-a-sucker says:

lol, they’re suckers, damn, i wouldn’t believe a man can be so idiot !

  50. sum2 says:

About 99% of the posts are placed into a standard(which is placed in a hole and then filled with concrete) and then rotated one quarter and tightened with a bolt on top of them. They can be removed the same way, except for the standard ofc.

  51. tuba says:

Who saw this must have videotaped their reaction :D I’d love to see that!

My guess is they took down 2 poles to get out. I they ran over them that would be double fail :p

  52. vivian says:

The van is a prop. It’s ’sposed to be there. The guys with shovels are actors. It’s an “art” piece….

  53. Kiljoy says:

All you gotta do is just drive real fast.

  54. numse says:

Can any WONE Pis tell mi weh the fug this meens

  55. «ÜP§»Wasp says:

i think that the person taking the picture thought that they fenced them selfs in but they got out with out any issues take a closer look the van could fit through but it would be very close.

  56. amygo says:

    … meh. not really.

  57. Allaiyah says:

Fail #2 comes when they try to squeeze the van between the posts.

  58. faked says:

    Picture is a fake

  59. randomdude says:

they drove their van in and installed the posts

  60. zenn22 says:

took me a wile to realize thieve trapped there van in

  61. Conga says:

There’s a lot of big fat failing comments here.

The guys parked up, cemented in the posts around the van and now they can’t drive out (without taking their work out). Major fail. The bollards are there to stop people parking there.

  62. Bollux says:

Those posts are removeable. They use them in many places. They can only be removed with a key, so they work to prevent people parking but allow service crews to enter with the key.

  63. potatoes says:

they’re aliens. planning an invasion. the mother ship will beam the van out. it might take them or it may not. unless the person who took this picture took some more, we’ll never know.

  64. THe Observer says:

I think the fail is the color of their jackets xD lol^^ rofl
