This whole picture is stupid. They put the poles up afterwards and it looks as if they are fenced in. They cant just take the poles out in reply to the idiot above. The van can fit through. Measure it on the screen. It works.
Yet another reason I love my Metro! That and the 35mpg… Freakin funny to see me get out of it though! I’m a kinda big guy… Wow… I really went off topic on this one! Self-fail!
So they just put in those posts? I think that’s what’s missing here.
I’ve seen plenty of posts that can be removed temporarily, so it wasn’t all that obvious, IMO.
True. That is a sand product that I’ve used. You put it down in between the pavers, shake it down, which they, for some reason, are not doing, then spray it with a hose to make it all solid! Very simple and fairly cheap way to go.
Actually there are 3 slabs between them, plus about a third of a slab that they’re on. So you’re looking at 3.7′ish slabs of space, about the same as the van. Pretty sure that van could maneuver out. It’s a fail because the person who took the pic can’t tell the difference.
I suppose its also a “fail” that 3 million of them starved to death 10 years ago or that disgusting atrocities happen every day in that country. Would it also be a “fail” that soldiers violently rape and murder people’s daughters and wives? Contrary to popular belief, its completely acceptable to not find everything humorous.
LOL .. this one is definitely not a FAIL thing… Look at the width of the van an the two posts which are closest to the guy who taken the picture.. the will easily pull out from there… somebody who think this one is fail has FAILED LOL
You fail at perspective..
the van is farther than the posts so photoshoping won’t help you here.. only counting the tiles as someone above suggested will give you the answer to the fail question.
In any case this kind of post (er… the traffic posts, not the blog) are usually removable for access by emergency vehicles. It would make sense that the workmen have them up and not risk getting run over by some filed driver, while they are working.
But a funny idea anyway! Ci non ‘e vero.. ‘e ben trovatto (“If intrue, it’s still well found”)
Good try and the other pictures are very appropriate!
”I suppose its also a “fail” that 3 million of them starved to death 10 years ago or that disgusting atrocities happen every day in that country. Would it also be a “fail” that soldiers violently rape and murder people’s daughters and wives? Contrary to popular belief, its completely acceptable to not find everything humorous.” Bigest fail ive ever seen.
it is a fail because they are putting lime on the ground after scooping up the mess of someone becoming an hero when they couldnt get their van out past the bollards
Jon – fail
As pointed out a few times, the van is wider than the gap – count the slabs.
“In any case this kind of post (er… the traffic posts, not the blog) are usually removable for access by emergency vehicles. It would make sense that the workmen have them up and not risk getting run over by some filed driver, while they are working.” Would like to see larger version of pic to confirm that these bollards (which are usually cemented in) are collapsible(sp?)/removable. And why would they place removable bollards that close to a building in what looks to be a plaza/pedestrianised area? THese buildings probably have goods in areas at rear.
The post closet to the building and the camera was Photoshopped in. Someone copied it and placed it there. You can tell by the distortions around the base. The other posts ar set in square tiles, but that one is just a blur. It wasn’t there when the photo was taken and they were going to set it in cement after moving the van.
WHY would someone photoshop this, oh photoshop trolls? this is my first visit to this site, and i’ve read about 50 photoshop accusations. YES, a bunch are, but usually they are still funny.
I just can’t imagine someone photoshopping some ordinary picture of a couple dudes putting in posts. like there’s this huge consortium of photoshoppers modding random pictures to try and trick you into laughing, right?
False. It’s clearly all photoshopped: the workmen, the posts, the van and the buildings. Twas originally a photo of those four letters in the top right hand corner…
This was actually taken near where I live.
Its near the hospital they were putting up the posts to stop cars from continually parking there, so obviously they not going to make the posts wide enough for a van to fit through.
About 99% of the posts are placed into a standard(which is placed in a hole and then filled with concrete) and then rotated one quarter and tightened with a bolt on top of them. They can be removed the same way, except for the standard ofc.
i think that the person taking the picture thought that they fenced them selfs in but they got out with out any issues take a closer look the van could fit through but it would be very close.
The guys parked up, cemented in the posts around the van and now they can’t drive out (without taking their work out). Major fail. The bollards are there to stop people parking there.
Those posts are removeable. They use them in many places. They can only be removed with a key, so they work to prevent people parking but allow service crews to enter with the key.
they’re aliens. planning an invasion. the mother ship will beam the van out. it might take them or it may not. unless the person who took this picture took some more, we’ll never know.
i fail to see the fail in this one
Called ‘Painting yourself into a corner’
thanks. I failed.
Its called, “look at those fuckers that just barricaded their van in.”
I think the bigger issue here is ho the van got there at all
maybe it was made there
NO Fail!
posts can most likely be romeved to get van out, even if I think it might actually fit through
Now if the van actually would fit through, it would be a fencing FAIL, STUPID.
Epic comment:P
This whole picture is stupid. They put the poles up afterwards and it looks as if they are fenced in. They cant just take the poles out in reply to the idiot above. The van can fit through. Measure it on the screen. It works.
The fail is that they are laying grout around the van and should just take the stupid van out and do it all at once. Morons.
Construction worker FAIL
they just put up the bollards somehow forgetting there van is inside.
It looks like they just installed those black metal posts and forgot their van was inside the fence.
yeah, i agree. there’s little squares of what looks like wet cement around a few of the posts.
ummm u realise the poles weren’t there when they got the van in… they were placing these poles in mate…
*blink*
They’re not painting……
That’s sand they’re working with.
or cement posting your self in a corner… ust to be technical
you think its painting?
you are teh fail
wtf? it makes no sense
that van can fit between the bars, verry tight fit, but possible…..
Agreed.
Then it’s still a fail, just a different one, as the posts are presumably there to keep cars out. Either way, they’re doing something wrong.
I guarantee at least one of those posts are removable. I have installed bollards before and made the one in the middle removable.
Well, how do you think the van will get out of there?
Hovervan?
heres a more beleivable possibility.crane?
i like hovervan personally
hovervan…WIN!
agreed.
I think they could drive between the posts, just they have to drive straight.
Yet another reason I love my Metro! That and the 35mpg… Freakin funny to see me get out of it though! I’m a kinda big guy… Wow… I really went off topic on this one! Self-fail!
look at the direction the van is pointing towards,
if they drove straight they would drive into a building.
you fail.
There is a gear in many cars and vans celled reverse
It’s installed on mine.
Maybe you should get it sometime,
its a great feature.
it could be lifted out by a crane or just drag a ramp inside and on the opposite side
Magnito will fix it.
So they just put in those posts? I think that’s what’s missing here.
I’ve seen plenty of posts that can be removed temporarily, so it wasn’t all that obvious, IMO.
yeah, but can clearly see the CEMENT at the bottom of the posts. posts that can be removed are not usually cemented into place….
FAIL
There is a pin that holds them in. Like a bolt in the top, or in the side along the bottom.
I LOL’d.
Those posts can be removed easily, clearly not FAILed.
I don’t think concreted in posts qualify as “temporary”. The clue is the bag of cement by the van.
Ive seen these posts in town
They have a padlock that when removed alows the post to be pulled straight out…
Wouldnt the bags of cememnt be for re-laying the paving flags after installing the posts ?
Looks more like sand or some grout type of product rather than concrete.
True. That is a sand product that I’ve used. You put it down in between the pavers, shake it down, which they, for some reason, are not doing, then spray it with a hose to make it all solid! Very simple and fairly cheap way to go.
the van looks narrow enough to fit between the posts
Count the paving slabs, The van is 4 wide approx, the posts have 3 slabs gap between them.
Actually there are 3 slabs between them, plus about a third of a slab that they’re on. So you’re looking at 3.7′ish slabs of space, about the same as the van. Pretty sure that van could maneuver out. It’s a fail because the person who took the pic can’t tell the difference.
This is clearly not a fail – they are cementing the posts in place to stop anyone from stealing the van.
Win!
Yeah!
Yeah! Cause the only people that want it cant remove posts!

This post is FAIL for sure.
3 million people with vans spreading concrete starved to death 10 years ago?

What I like is that from that vantage, I bet they were being watched the whole time they were doing this and no one went downstairs and told them!
Clint commented on the wrong fail. He wanted the Korea one. Mark that : Clint Fail
LOL
.. this one is definitely not a FAIL thing… Look at the width of the van an the two posts which are closest to the guy who taken the picture.. the will easily pull out from there… somebody who think this one is fail has FAILED
LOL
Clint = FAIL!
Liu-Kang: Flawless victory!
Fatality!!!!
Shouldn’t we caption this one, “get out of FAIL card”?
[...] Posted on February 19, 2008 by brahnamin it took me a minute to figure THIS one out. bloody [...]
I photoshopped it …. The van can make it out …

If that was supposed to be Italian – Sconfitta! (Fail ^^)
LOLZ AT T3H N00BZ
Nobody checked Snopes.
Always check Snopes.

N00B FAIL
Snopes! Of course, wonder why I didn’t think of Snopes. Patent rmovable bollards. Duh
Sorry but this fail is a fake…
the last post on the right is a copy of one of the other.
Photoshop greetz
for this ppl that dont know there would be a post that has a lock on it so they can remove it so its not a fail
”I suppose its also a “fail” that 3 million of them starved to death 10 years ago or that disgusting atrocities happen every day in that country. Would it also be a “fail” that soldiers violently rape and murder people’s daughters and wives? did you just coppy this from the idiot up there?
Omg nabs. They can just pull those up, very simple.
Its like a screw, :p
it is a fail because they are putting lime on the ground after scooping up the mess of someone becoming an hero when they couldnt get their van out past the bollards
Hey Betaboy, if you’re going to call someone a noob, at least spell it right…”Nab”
The posts lock upright and can be made to lie flat to allow vehicles to pass.
bollards
Your “Fail” Failed! The person who posted this failed too!
the van will fit between those posts but you’d need to keep it straight
Jon – fail
As pointed out a few times, the van is wider than the gap – count the slabs.

Worst. Internet Discussion. EVar.
god old british workmanship,lol

the van can fit through the two at the bottum
This isn’t actually a fail. Snopes reported on it: http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/bollards.asp
Hey smart guys, its grout and the posts are removable..
WHY would someone photoshop this, oh photoshop trolls? this is my first visit to this site, and i’ve read about 50 photoshop accusations. YES, a bunch are, but usually they are still funny.
I just can’t imagine someone photoshopping some ordinary picture of a couple dudes putting in posts. like there’s this huge consortium of photoshoppers modding random pictures to try and trick you into laughing, right?
photoshop accusers: logic fail
False. It’s clearly all photoshopped: the workmen, the posts, the van and the buildings. Twas originally a photo of those four letters in the top right hand corner…

I get it!
They have the posts there to tie rope around to keep people from getting in, but they used the cones. xD
EVERYONE ELSE FAILS.
agree. LOL ftw
no photo shop guy ?? no one to say this also was photoshoped ??
this pic is as fake as you can get
The van can obviously fit through those posts. It would just require a lot of precision.
lol, they’re suckers, damn, i wouldn’t believe a man can be so idiot !
About 99% of the posts are placed into a standard(which is placed in a hole and then filled with concrete) and then rotated one quarter and tightened with a bolt on top of them. They can be removed the same way, except for the standard ofc.
Who saw this must have videotaped their reaction
I’d love to see that!
My guess is they took down 2 poles to get out. I they ran over them that would be double fail :p
The van is a prop. It’s ’sposed to be there. The guys with shovels are actors. It’s an “art” piece….
All you gotta do is just drive real fast.
Can any WONE Pis tell mi weh the fug this meens
i think that the person taking the picture thought that they fenced them selfs in but they got out with out any issues take a closer look the van could fit through but it would be very close.
… meh. not really.
Fail #2 comes when they try to squeeze the van between the posts.
Picture is a fake
they drove their van in and installed the posts
took me a wile to realize thieve trapped there van in
There’s a lot of big fat failing comments here.
