that’s the most awesome architectural fail ever.
There’s broken stone near where the two staircases converge, so maybe there used to be a path around the side there? But even if so, you’d have to be eight inches tall to get to it.

I’ve actually seen this particular fail play out in the past. Architects make strange mistakes, and construction workers tend to do what they’re told.
Because they are sheep.
No because they get fired if they don’t. Sheep are people who belive in trends like that all people who don’t post to the web are sheep.
Right, so “lemmings” would be a better term.
Lemmings don’t get paid, though. If you were a construction worker and noticed an architect screwing up like this, wouldn’t you want to build it the way it was on the blueprints?
It’s a funny fail… it’s also an “aftermarket” add on. Probably didn’t need those stairs from the ground level anymore.
I wanna try that! xD
Maybe the staircase fell, like part of it collapsed… I’m just hoping that so I don’t have to think that no one noticed…

The caption is wrong though. It would be an Escher Success, would it not?
Well for it to be Escher Success the top stairs would have to be inverted to face down towards the other stairs so if gravity made a random shift to the opposite orientation you’d still be covered in the stair department. ^-^
The gravity wouldn’t shift it’d just be different.
