it’s photoshopped, they got a picture of the pool when it was empty and a picture when it was full and the kid was jumping in. it’s easy enough to splice them together.

can’t skateboard on tile – that pool is tiled. and as feckineejit points out, his back is the wrong shade of blue. Also – his shadow is at the wrong angle from him – look at the angle of the other shadows – light always travels in a straight line.
You’re forgetting how high-speed shutters work in cameras, at least for older TTL film cameras. When you set the exposure to 1/2000th of a second, the camera does not “open” the entire frame for that long and then close it. The camera uses a sliding open curtain and a sliding close curtain. The faster the exposure, the smaller the open strip between the two curtains, thus approximating the desired shutter speed. There’s a photo in several “how to take photos” books showing a batter hitting a fastball, while the shadow shows a few inches separating them. This is just an artifact of having the open strip in a horizonal line for that photo.
yes, the shadow is of the where the baseball /used/ to be. In this case, there is no way for the shadow to have been at that angle from the boy.

Yeah, and have you noticed there’s actually 1 1/2 shadows in that pool? One just below the kid and half just above the shadow on the far side the pool where the light doesn’t reach.

He is wearing swim trunks and is not wearing a shirt. He is most likely not doing a backflip.
The shade of blue reflected on his back seem an awful lot like that of a water filled pool.
I second that note… you can clearly see the blue ‘glow’ or the pool water… then they either snapped a photo while it was empty or just pulled one off the net and fudged it…

This looks like someone just photoshopped a skateboard out, but I can’t tell if the distortion near and underneath his feet is just crappy jpeg compression or photoshop. It appears to be a fake, but I cannot say for sure. He could be doing a backflip. Oh and the reflection on his back is from the tiles in the pool. The pool portion of the picture has not been photoshopped.

Yes, it’s fake. However, about every 4th or 5th picture on this site is, so I don’t know what the fuss is about. And yes, I work with adobe photoshop for a living.

lol theres no skateboard, its fake, the pool isnt even the same one he jumped into, his body was cut out of a diferent picture, rotated, put on an empty pool pic, then it was copied, made all black (some transparency) with some blur and stretched slopily on the wall. kinda easy to tell when u make a lot of photoshops yourself….by the way he has a very cyan type glow on his back that wasnt removed…

It’s photoshopped. His shadow on the side of the pool is an EXACT match for his profile (although elongated a bit). If the sun and the photographer were at different angles, then he’d have different profiles in each direction.

As an art student who knows a thing or two about photoshopping, this is obviously a fake – you can tell because look at the reflection on the kids back – its a turquoise lighting, just like pool water. Whats below him, of course, is not the same color. And tile would not reflect light like that.

the angle of his feet are wrong in the shadow.
There are artifacts on the pool tiling, but not visibly in the rest of the picture. Also the border between the pool edge and the tiles is sharper than the rest of the picture. Obviously someone took two pictures, one with water, one without, and cut and pasted the tiled section into the first picture, which had already been saved once with a loss of quality, hence the artifacts in that section upon saving it with a second loss of quality.
Really some people here should open their eyes, OF COURSE there is no skateboard shadow… because there is no skateboard at all. This shadow that everyone seem to take as a skateboard come from the tube in front of the kid… just open your eyes.
There is nothing that can tell it’s actually photoshoped for sure.

Who cares if it’s photoshopped? Besides, if you haven’t noticed, the tiles in th e pool are blue, but, I will admit that the shadow is in the wrong place, but a ton of these pics are photoshopped.
I think the most obvious proof that this is fake that everyone is missing is that there are TWO shadows of the boy.

This is obviously not fake. I mean, how could anyone be that good on macintosh. I can’t believe that a macintosh or a windows personnal computer was used to distort the reality in such a way. Even more, there is a shadow of the small kid reflecting on the pool side. How can a shadow be reproduced so perfectly? This is simply a non-sense.
Anyways, the poor kid probably spent a long time in the hospital, if not in the cemetary. I sincerely hope that he survived, and let that be a message to the real failures of today : the parents.

how do you photoshop pictures like this? can someone explain
