Since most of the escalators are installed near a ceiling. some are cylindrical plastic tubes hanging near the ceiling. more like a clearance beam.

Also, there is nothing apparently holding up the decorative metal bracing that holds the chain that is linked to the sign; unless there is somekind of thin metal wire or a plexiglass type of thing (although it would probably have a reflection).
