how do you pay proper attention to a bat traveling at 100+ mph? as you can see by the reactions of everyone, there isn’t enough time to actually protect yourself.
Just look at his hands, he protects the importand stuff. Qick thinking on his part there, those bats do like to hit balls after all.
There’s plenty of time to react, how else did the guy in front of him duck the bat? From the angle it looks like the bat was coming from, if he hadn’t ducked it would have hit him instead. The guy that got hit was relaxing cause he didn’t realize the guy ducking had such good reflexes lol.
Did someone turn off the self preservation instinct on that dude or is he just too old to display proper reflexes to get his arms up to protect his face?

He’s the only one relatively close that seemed to have no reaction to the bat, other than the bat making him turn his head. His arms are resting comfortably in his lap as if he’s in an airplane ready for take off.

i don’t get something here.
first, the guy getting the bat in the face does nottin’- ok, maybe he was looking the other way for a split second and didn’t see it coming.
now, there are two ladies busy eating- it’s like they don’t even notice a bat is flying at their direction. weird.
the baby is the only one strechin the hands to the bat and not trying to cover themselves. cool.
but what i really don’t get- look at the direction the people in the left side of the pics are protecting themselves from, then the older lady right next to the baby, then the person in the mint green t-shirt on the right (who faces the same direction as the baby- who faces the complete opposite direction as her dad). it’s like each person is freaking out from another direction, like it’s coming from all over. weird.
I have your answers. 1) The guy’s face was turned because of the impact of the bat on his jaw. 2) The ladies aren’t eating, one is covering her mouth- in amazement, maybe- and the other one has a simple reflex- grab what ever object is closest, and use it as a shield. in this case, it was a pizza box. 3) Babies are curious, and they will try to grab what they are interested in. 4) The people on the left side are leaning in the other direction to shield their faces. The ultimate reflex of a person is to get as far away from a harmful item as possible. Sorry for blabbering. The guy in the top-right corner, though? Fail.
If you’ve ever been in a baseball stadium when something comes flying at you, you quickly realize that you don’t know just where its coming from.
All the visual stimulation makes it very hard to focus on a single fast-moving object. Thus why everyone’s freaking out in different directions. They saw it start flying at them, probably lost sight of it because of all the movement behind it, but know its coming.
Theres a lady over there…just eating popcorn!…like nothing happened….
I bet she´s thinking “Shit…I bet that´s probably gonna leave a mark”.
